A girlfriend of mine has been nagging me to go here for some time....finally we did and will be coming back sooner than later. We went on a Saturday night before a concert. As directed we got there 10 minutes before they opened and our party of 7 ended up being the 5th group waiting. And by the time they... More

This was our first visit to Nuestra Cucina. We both had chili rellenos. Mine was vegetarian. It was very healthy and good. Not too much cheese. Hubby had the pork relleno which was delicious. I like that I could have mine ala carte. Excellent Cadillac margarita. Best I've had in a long time! We especially like Colleen, our server. She... More

If yo are looking for standard Mexican food, this is not it. Very carefully prepared and served Central Mexican food, fresh ingredients, and served quite hot in temperature,. A neighborhood place, in an area of residences, there is pride and creativity throughout the staff and coming out of the kitchen

Three of us went there for dinner, but ended up sharing a variety of appetizers. As we ordered the waiter suggested that he bring them out in pairs that complimented one another and his choices were spot on: the Grilled Mexican white prawns marinated in tamarind with baked Oaxacan cheese, mushrooms and chile poblano; the crisp masa cakes filled with... I say weird in the best Portland context. I have eaten lots of Mexican food and this was the most amazing. All I recognized was the Margaritas (one of the best) and the Tortillas, the rest was shear creativity from the chief. Combinations of ingredients that I could never imagine. And flavors that were terrific (did I say I liked... More

I have gone here on my last two birthdays with friends. First, you will have to wait unless you get there when they open. Second, it is worth the wait, and you can enjoy a cocktail and appetizer on the patio which is small, but you meet fun people that way. The margaritas are excellent…best I have ever had. You... More

Fresh hand made tortillas, freshly muddled creative drinks and the freshest ingredients. Nuestra Cocina folks are the friendliest restaurant in town. Be sure and get in line. Sit down enjoy a fabulous cocktail. This is our favorite restaurant in town.

This was my third visit to Nuestra Cocina in as many years. Seating continues to be tight, even at 6 PM on the dot. The restaurant shares the deplorable trend of declining to take reservations (except for LARGE groups), which makes it difficult for seniors, handicapped, and anyone who needs food at specific hours of the day to dine there.... I went to this restaurant on a Tuesday at 5:15, and it was fairly empty, so if you want to go, go during the off-peak hours to avoid a wait. The restaurant is fairly small and I could see how it could get crowded and loud. Everything is house made and tastes very fresh. The margarita was refreshing with the... More

Nuestra Cocina has good food, great drinks, and good atmosphere. Ask your waiter what is good that evening. The meat dishes and appetizers are almost always excellent.
