Perfect for a special occasion

This was a rare treat, a special Sunday brunch on Memorial Day weekend. VQ was packed to the gills with a line of people waiting. The atmosphere in this ancient building was warm, cozy, and inviting. Our table of four was seated on the indoor patio on this cloudy, very cool day, however here... read more

We chose this restaurant as it was within walking distance of hotel and was highly recommended . You enter into the bar area reminiscent of an English Pub. The place was small but quaint and was packed. We strolled through and the hostess greeted and seated us promptly . The kitchen window was right next to hostess stand which was... More

Three visits and no errors. Food is pricey but worth it. Seating at lunch time can be longish as this place is popular with the business crowd.

Amazing food and romantic ambiance, especially if you ask to sit upstairs in a booth. It was the foodie highlight of our trip.

We ate lunch here after a History Walking Tour. Although a bit past traditional lunch time, it was very crowded. However, despite that, the food was wonderful as was the service.

Great little expensive restaurant nestled near Portland's waterfront. Great food, over-priced, with a visit now and then.

Great place all seasons. Outdoor dining when it's not raining. Lamb shank with risotto is always on the menu and always good! Pleasant and woody bar. Gets crowded sometimes. Ask to sit up in the back section.

My husband and I were in Portland for medical reasons and decided to make a date night out of it. We picked this restaurant because of it's great location and of course all the great reviews. We were not disappointed! What a great place to go and unwind in the heart of the city but surrounded by beautiful lush gardens.... More

I found the menu devoid of interesting options when I ate here for breakfast. What I did order I found just so so and overpriced. My sign other, however, likes this place, though certainly not in his top 25% of breakfast spots in town.

Sorry you weren't impressed with our breakfast selection. Most folks rave about our menu. Hope we'll have another chance to wow you soon, but in the meantime, let us know if there's anything specific you'd like to see! Warm regards, Erin, GM More

The VQ is consistently good. The staff is always friendly. The menu varied and creative. And the atmosphere is cozy. I cannot think of a single reason I would not recommend the VQ! Enjoy!!!
