Just happened to stumble upon this gem!

My friend and I were down at the waterfront for the Red Bull flugtag and were looking for a spot to grab a drink and a bite. We just happened to see the VQ sign in the distance and stopped in. It was a little confusing as to what was expected for seating as you entered the front door. The... read more

I had been hearing about VQ for a while and we just happened to walk by it on our way from downtown back to our hotel. We stopped in for a drink and a nosh. The outdoor area was very inviting, especially in the hot weather. But we also checked out the bar, which we would come back to in... More

This place is super cute inside as well as on the outside deck. And the food is spectacular! We enjoyed a romantic date night, a bottle of wine, and a four course feast and were dressed pretty casually (I had running sneakers and workout clothes on). I highly recommend stopping here if you want a great place to eat in... More

We chose to sit in the bar booths instead of the more formal dining room. The food was lovely. The osso bucco was phenomenal!

We went for lunch and found the restaurant packed. Once we sat down to eat we could see why. It's different, a bit noisy, but the food was delicious, the service was very attentive, and it was just a fun atmosphere. We have also gone for brunch with friends and enjoyed that as well.

I have been going to the VQ for over 30 years. It is one of Portlands hidden treasures. Incredible food, a meeting spot to have a drink after work. You can't go wrong with the VQ but it can get crowded it is very popular.

VQ was the ideal choice for my husband's birthday brunch. They have a dining area for groups which was private but not isolated. Our grandchildren were welcomed and the meals were fabulous. The wait staff were warm and perfectly attentive.

I've visited the VQ dozens of times over a 30 year period. For lunch, dinner or a drink, it is among the best in town. Pleasant ambiance, fine menu, excellent wine list. The outdoor dining area is terrific in good weather. The VQ is threatened with destruction due to short-sighted planning for a new county courthouse on this site. You... More

Awesome menu, and professional waiters. Everyone appreciated good service, but it's amazing what a difference a classically trained waiter can make in your experience. We had a great server named Rebecca - a consummate professional who guided us toward a great wine and gave us descriptions of the food, wine and beer that all turned out to be spot-on. One... More
