Fantastic brunch

We just returned from a great meal at VQ. I have passed this lovely spot many times and finally made it in. I can not believe it's taken so long to eat here. I had the blackened catfish. Fantastic. Everyone at our table of 8 loved their meal.

We sat at the bar after waiting for seats. Caesar salad, pasta dish, and tiramasu were all delicious. Bartenders provided high quality service and tasty signature drinks.

I stopped by via Yelp for a solo brunch on a Sunday while I was wondering around Portland. I decided it would be a good idea to have some food in me before visiting the Portland Museum of Art. I'm very glad I did! I sat at the bar and had an amazing locally sourced brunch of poached eggs over... More

We like our first visit to Veritable Quandary that we went back the second night of our stay in Portland. We thought the service was excellent. Even though we had to wait for a table the second night, the staff was attentive and checked in with us to make sure we had a drink while we waited and to just... More

I have mixed emotions about VQ ... I love the fact that it reminds me of my favorite Paris Bistro, but there is nothing that really beckons me to return. I have eaten here several times trying to make it work, but it just doesn’t. The menu is limited and so I struggle with it every time. What I do... More

I hope that whatever has been bringing you back continues to do so. Of course, I wish you didn't have such mixed emotions about us, but it is such a compliment to read that our atmosphere reminds you of your favorite bistro in Paris. Hopefully next time you'll walk out without any uncertainties. Please, if you have time, drop me... More

Chose to stay in the bar area rather than go to the dining room. Weather wasn't good for sitting outside so can't say anything more than THE SERVICE IS FANTASTIC!

Ate brunch here on Saturday April 18th. Arrived around 9:40am (they open at 9:30) and we were seated right away. The menu looked great and it was hard to decide but we were both happy with our choices (French toast and croque madam). Our service was less than stellar and the prices a bit steep for brunch, but we would... More

We started with a shared rabbit pate. GREAt! Two big slabs with two mustards and a tart fruit spread. He had the mushroom and spinach salad. Good. I had the poached egg, bacon, greens and cornbread salad. Fabulous. At this point I was full. Entree of prawn pasta and spring vegetables was good, but too much. His entree of halibut... More

The food was very good my daughter had the ravioli wish she loved and I had the rack of lamb wish was very good and cooked to perfection. The star of the night was the short ribs my husband ordered they were delicious and the lobster appetizer which was excellent. However I expected more of a wow for this type... More

Food was excellent. Our waiter, Ryan, was one of the best waiters we have ever had! HIs recommendations were thorough and spot on. Nice ambiance and great waterfront location
