I love a place that sticks to its roots - this is breakfast as it should be. Large portions that provide a meal for the rest of the day - great left overs - who doesn't like breakfast for dinner? First time we went for "brunch" at Gravy. The Bloody Mary was spicy but good. The pork chops and eggs... More

I waited an hour for brunch which is typical for Portland. And my friend and I ordered biscuits and gravy (in a place called gravy it's a must) with over easy eggs and a side of hash browns and French toast to share. The service was wonderful, the spanish coffee was very nice. But the biscuits were so dry I... More

Gravy is in a cute neighbourhood on Mississippi st. Be sure to explore other places here that are walking distance. Gravy was excellent - I had the Greco omlette and fiance had the Delise. We shared a gluten free buck wheat pancake on the side and both dishes came with shredded hashbrowns. The biscuits look amazing and we will need... More

Went for breakfast and had to wait nearly an hour. That is understandable because the food was very good. My wife and I both had leftovers as the portions were generous. The quality of the food seemed top notch. Given the long lines of people we really felt rushed by the staff and it was uncomfortable having all the people... More

The name caught my attention, and being ever curious for a new eating adventure, I popped in with a friend. We were warmly greeted and seated at a table. Menus were given and drink orders taken. We both ordered the biscuits and gravy, my friend the meat version, and I ordered the vegetable version. Our plates arrived with two huge... More

We were on a search for brunch place while travelling through Portland. Gravy was on our way and it came with good reviews so we decided to give it a try. We could not like it more. We were greeted with a smile even though we arrived just half an hour before their closing time. Both the coffee and hot... More

I have been meaning to check this place out for quite some time. I kept hearing great things and they certainly live up to the hype. We had great service and our food was delicious! Portions are huge! I got the biscuits and gravy and I was not disppointed. We will be back!

I am not a morning person but this place would change my personality based on the French Toast alone. Good service, no pretentiousness, great comfort food. Be careful of the sausage, additional seasoning adding spicy heat if you are not ready for it.

Unfortunately, can't say anything about the food. The one waiter/host was a respectfully smart dude with a beautiful talent at seating customers. Sad to review a restaurant entirely on the experience of one person who made my party and I feel disrespected enough to walk out before placing an order. I would also go as far to review the citizenry... More
