Stanich's is an institution. It's a large bar with a pizza house openess and family freindly feel to it. A lage area for sport teams to eat at. Simply, it's about the burger. It's of the kitchen sink variety and very well balanced. So good that it's worth going out of the way for - the end

This is a very classic burger joint/dive bar. The burgers a plain and simple and really good. The decor is fun and old and the staff are all nice and friendly. You can't beat the prices either. Probably the only perfect place in PDX for a cheap but killer burger, fries, and beer!

I read a lot of conflicting reviews on this place so I had to try it for myself. If you like a really good burger you won't be disappointed. If you're a clean freak you may be. If you like good service and friendly banter you won't be. I'll go again when I'm in the neighborhood.

Friends took us here to their favorite burger place in Portland. A family run place it appears. The evening we were there the gent taking orders was also doing the cooking and delivering the drinks. It was late afternoon and they weren't busy, so it worked okay. The menu includes lots of burger choices and some other sandwiches. I had... More

Stanich's looks like a tavern but kids are welcome. It's not a fancy place but if you love big juicy hamburgers, you'll be glad you stopped in. The fries are so-so, but the biggest burger on the menu more than makes up for that. Called "The Special", all the barnyard animals represent with ham, egg, and bacon. I've had burgers... More

My husband wanted to take me to Stanichs as it was in a neighborhood where he had lived years ago and always thought the burgers were good. He was right but the service was so bad I don't care to ever go back. We felt ignored when we arrived and when the waitress did come over she wanted to take... More

Change can be over rated. In this case the burgers have not changed ... and thanks for that! The burger pictured is the Special and the basket of fries. We try to get to Stanich's as much as we can. I have also had the 'Milo' and the 'George'. It is a local 'Sports Bar', but just go there for... More

My friend had been telling me bout this amazing little place in Portland for years. We finally had a chance to go there and I was appalled. We literally 'stuck' to the table it was so imbedded with grease. The salt and pepper shakers 'stuck' to the table as well and when I asked for a wet towel to clean... More

Been going here for forty years and it is consistently excellent. We moved out of Portland ten years ago, but last weekend we were visiting the city and took two of out adult children there. Our 30 year old son has now found a "new" favorite place. He was amazed he could get the "special" for seven bucks and hand... More

Down in Portland recently to visit a friend and she took us to Stanich's. This place is a little hole in the wall, neighborhood place with a limited menu and kids are welcome. You walk in and notice the TV screen's play "the game", paneling on the walls and the entrace to the pool room, and you think you've walked... More
