Great burger, fun ambiance

This is not a place for prissy people. It's not chic and there's no hoity-toity wine list, but if you like a yummy sloppy burger and a beer (whether a pedestrian American lager or craftbrew), Stanich's is the place. We had originally planned to go to Amalfi's for pizza, but it was closed on Monday, so my BF suggested Stanich's because in the past when he had been there it was "the best burger". Now let me be clear - I like a cool "dive" joint with great food, but this was by far the worst food and service... More

This was my first visit in a couple of years. I had always enjoyed a burger and a beer here but stopped coming when I moved further away. Found myself in the area last night about 8pm and starting thinking about Stanich's Worlds Greatest. My wife and I walked in and after standing by the please wait to be seated sign... More

Everything was greasy, filthy and unsanitary. The staff should not be in the customer service field. The burgers might be good, but we never found out because we were so put off by the extremely unhealthy environment. KPTV's dirty dining should definitely pay this establishment a visit. It concerns me to know what they would find. By the way, the... More

Went here on a recommendation, ALWAYS looking for a GREAT burger. We were not disappointed. Both my wife and I ordered the George, bacon cheeseburger with all the fixin's except onion. WOW what a delicious burger, like it came right out of your kitchen skillet. Cooked just right. And the fresh cut fries were incredible. In the day of the... More

What can you say that hasn't already been said about this landmark tavern and burger joint. "Joint" used in the most positive way, this is a Portland classic that I have been visiting since the early 60's, and it's as good now as it was then. The World's Greatest Hamburger with all the goodies is still a bargain at $8... More

Ok, so it's Portland. You're probably expecting foie gras, or peanut butter, or twinkie filling on a burger. But no. Stanich's is Old School. True Old School. Don't go for the ambiance, there isn't any - other than 1970's neighborhood tavern. I can vouch for the 1970's part as I have been going there since I was 3, in 1971,... More

Stanich's is an institution. It's a large bar with a pizza house openess and family freindly feel to it. A lage area for sport teams to eat at. Simply, it's about the burger. It's of the kitchen sink variety and very well balanced. So good that it's worth going out of the way for - the end
