Too long between visits!

We always visit Ringside when in Portland for both the ambiance and the food. We enjoyed our prime rib dinner with a delicious 'orphan' bottle of wine at a very reasonable price. Scott, our waiter, was attentive and professional. Can't wait to go back.

Ringside East was closed for an overhaul, so the family decided to go to the Uptown Portland for Mother's Day. As always, we enjoyed their famous onion rings. Usually, the caesar salad is crisp. This time, it was a little soggy, but still good. I had the top sirloin. It was flavorful and tender. Enjoyed it. My Mom ordered her... More

Went for early evening dinner with spouse, daughter and son-in-law after a matinee performance at the Keller Auditorium. Service, as always, was prompt, attentive and thoroughly professional. We started with our usual order of the Ringside's legendary onion rings. Scrumptious! Salads -- mixed greens and a beet salad were all very good. Fresh greens and tasty dressings. For entrees, two... Had a great dinner at the Ringside. I try and hit the top steakhouses in each city I visit, and the Ringside certainly ranks. My steak was excellent, the side we ordered not quite as good. However, it was the service that really impressed me. VERY attentive, without being overbearing. The sommelier really impressed us, as after hearing our preferences... More

Ambiance was good and staff very friendly. Our server, Liz, was very knowledgeable and cheerful. We were seated within 15 minutes of arriving at a perfectly sized table for 5. Service was prompt and professional. Disappointed with the crab cakes, though others at the table liked them. (They're from Ohio, so not sure they know a good crab cake!) It... More

I've been eating here for over 30 years and while pricey it's worth it's rating as one of America's top independent steak houses. The food is top notch. Because it's Portland the seafood is excellent (I live on the coast so I'm a seafood snob) and the service is usually personal and charming. Those who say it "isn't what is... More

We had a great dinner Sunday night and great service. Got us in and feed in time so we could get to our Broadway show and still didn't make us feel rushed. Plus still had time for coffee. As alway great steak and old school Portland.

While on business in Portland, we had an opportunity to hit Portland's best restaurants. Certainly, Portland can boast the country's most diverse and inspired food scene. For our final evening, we chose the Ringside. Old school steakhouse dining at its finest. Valet attendant was professional and host and waitstaff are well-trained and attentive. The menu was what you expect from... More

Waited in bar for an hour for a table while Barman Jimmy entertained everyone there, he's a tonic! I ordered from set menu $49.99 for 3 courses, had gorgeous french onion soup for starters, and steak with prawns & garlic mashed potatoes for main course which was terrible, both the steak and prawns were totally overcooked and bone dry. Dessert... More

Been frequenting Ringside for 40+ years since a child. Had not visited since their renovation and to my shegrin not much has changed other than they have created more room for seating in the dining room and bar and the portions have gotten smaller and more expensive. Business is business and to stay in business you have to make money.... More
