After 7 days of Portland's culinary delights, we were searching for a quieter, lighter meal. The Alameda Cafe was the perfect choice. They offered several small plates, including the roasted summer veggies, which were perfectly seasoned and prepared, just what I was looking for. My husband enjoyed his burger which was accompanied by homemade fries with a tangy mustard sauce.... More

Some friends who live in the neighborhood took me to this little gem. Yes, the menu is limited, but we each had something different and they were all equally delicious - and varied. With these prices, it's a real bargain as well. I particularly liked the intimate setting (just a dozen or so tables) and the farm-to-table freshness of everything... More

We have eaten at this restaurant several times now and are blown away with every dish we have had. The flavors are complimentary and appropriate to supplement the main entree without overwhelming it. The menu is somewhat limited but they always have something that temps the palette. The staff is pleasant and professional without being too close. The atmosphere is... More

We have frequented Alameda Café for years. It has a new chef and staff as the former owner retired. The food is delicious! The hamburger was very well presented and the fries were fresh not frozen. We shared a beet salad and an asparagus salad which were also excellent. Prices were reasonable and café is simple , clean and charming... More

This was our first visit to the "new" Alameda Cafe. We ate at the cafe several times over the years and always enjoyed it. Today we were in the neighborhood and decided to give it a try. The midday menu is primarily brunch with a few lunch items - Rueben, Bacon burger, side salad and soup. We will try the... More

Took a chance on this reopened restaurant. Completely redone both in terms of atmosphere, menu and service. This was a place to avoid in a neighborhood with numerous choices. The 4 of us were pleasantly surprised by the service, the interesting but small menu items and the food! The risotto with barely was nice deviation from the ordinary and the... More

We are trying to sample as many breakfast spots in Portland as possible since it is our favorite meal out. However, after being blown away by the quaint and cozy vibe inside the restaurant and the excellent Columbia breakfast plate which includes 2 eggs, specialty breaded and fried french bread slice, hash browns and choice of meat (for me that... I had previously been a fan of the Alameda Cafe on Fremont: the neighborhood feel of the place, the lovely breakfasts and home-cooked dinners. I recently had occasion for breakfast there to meet a business associate on a damp Portland morning. The place was busy with customers and the chap waiting tables and running the place did tremendous work to... More
