Better than 5 stars.

We went to Karam and the owner helped us out. He made a recommendation to order a meat sampler with 5 or 6 different dips and it was wonderful. They he said we had to try the dessert and am I glad I did. I don't know what it was but it was soooo good. I will definitely be going... read more

The food is fresh and plentiful. My husband and I split the vegetarian mezze, which came with hummus, baba ganouj, taboli, and fallafel. Everything was outstanding. My husband had the lamb shank as an entree; the meat was seasoned beautifully and just melted off the bone. I had the tawouk sandwich: tender chunks of marinated chicken wrapped up in pita.... More

This is one of the best Mediterranean restaurant that I have been in my entire life. And I've already visited and worked in several countries of the Middle East and North Africa... The setting is simple and very beautiful. The music brings a nice exotic vibe while you are enjoying your meal. I have a devious portion of kibbeh made... More

This restaurant happened to be around the corner from our hotel and the Yelp reviews were high so we tried it for lunch. Truly makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Wonderful food. Everything was fresh. Yum!

Great menu for a restaurant full of native middle eastern guests. The good restaurants have nationals of the countries whose food they claim to serve. This place was one of them. Service was good and the menu was very diverse. They were helpful in picking out the best entrees. Be prepared for a lot of food, so consider sharing or... More

This was my first time going to this restaurant, (we bought a groupon for it). It was a date night for my husband and I, (we don't drive the 12 miles to go down town often) and we made a night of it - movie and dinner at this restaurant. It felt like an intimate, cozy restaurant. We visited with... More

If you are downtown Portland (near Southwest 4th and Morrison) and like Middle Eastern food (Lebanese and Syrian) food, I highly recommend you try this restaurant. The food is very good, and very reasonable. And the menu has a huge number of choices, so you can go back (which I will do). I had the Meat Meza which was excellent,... More

I really wanted to ask if I could kiss the chef. I almost did, but I was too shy. Maybe next time. ;) The cuisine was exceptional. We started off with the vegetable grape leaf. Wow, far exceeded what we tasted before in other restaurants. These little bundles of goodness were truly made with a warm heart and someone who... More

Recently had dinner at Karam. Shared fried cauliflower and fried eggplant appetizers with a somewhat thin lemony sauce. Mains were lamb shank and goat stew with added bamia (okra), both very tender. Rice served on side plus a lettuce salad. Service was a bit hurried and dishes piled up on the table, so we were pleased we had a four... More
