My mother's day evening was spent having dinner with my husband and youngest daughter at Karam. None of us had ever eaten here before so didn't know what to expect from this downtown Portland restaurant. By the end of the meal we all decided it was a place to mark for a return visit. We started with a lovely bottle... More

Visited Portland for a few days and stopped in for lunch to enjoy a good Lebanese meal. This restaurant does not disappoint, we ordered the meat meza, fatoush salad and most importantly the fette chicken. Fetta is really hard to find, but if you have lived in the Middle East you know how good it is. with Fairouz singing in... More

I went to Karam with my 3 yr. old daughter for dinner. The restaurant's interior is painted to resemble historic Lebanon, with columns on one side and faux crumbling plaster on the other. The wait staff were nice and seated us promptly, since tables were available. I ordered french fries for the little one in case she didn't like the... More

The restaurant is rather small, but inviting. It can accommodate parties large and small. The service is excellent. The humus and felafel were delicious; the pita was hot and fresh. I ordered the meat meza and found it to be rather bland; other dishes looked more exciting. Portions are generous.

We decided to try this restaurant on a trip to Portland because we have never had Lebanese food. I can't say enough about this place. The staff is incredibly friendly, the owner even came out to chat with us about the dishes. The food was absolutely amazing. We had mouajanat for an appetizer. This was a delicious trio of bread... the food was excellent and the server was able to make excellent suggestions - they really knew the menu. Not expensive even with a couple drinks.

A friend from Portland recommended this place, and I was so happy I went. The food was delicious and generously-portioned, the service gracious and welcoming, the atmosphere warm and friendly, and the prices very reasonable. The family running the restaurant seemed to have a great sense of humor. The lamb kafta was divine --- some of the best I've ever... More

I love middle Easter cuisine and have been to many great places. Several years ago, in one of my many trips to Portland I found Karam's. I found the place friendly, the environment relaxed and the family type service unique. In many returns to Portland, I have always tried to go there. I am never disappointed. Their food variety is... New to Lebanese cuisine I decided to order an item on the menu that was labeled "traditional". To my surprise it was rather bland but then maybe that is how they like it. The hot pita bread just out of the oven was tasty and the service was good. The wait on a Saturday night was only 20 minutes as... More
