We visited Paley's Place during our vacation in Portland. Our waitress was incredibly nice. The restaurant is intimate, quiet, nicely lit, and a great place for a romantic dinner. A feature I really enjoyed is that they offer half courses and full courses. This was our second most expensive meal in Portland. For more information about the other restaurants we... More

Paley's is one of the few places that offers sweetbreads and also always cooks the sweetbreads to perfection. For this alone, they are stars in my opinion. But, they always offer local options prepared in a loving way. Service has been good and if you can sit outside on the porch, it's a lovely way to spend the evening.

I had a wonderful dinner at Paley’s place during a recent business trip to Portland. The location is a little off the beaten path – at least it seemed that way given where I was staying. However, it is definitely worth a visit. I had the steak tartar as an appetizer and the crispy sweetbreads as my entrée. Both were... More

On a weekend outing to Portland, my wife and I had Saturday dinner at Paley's Place. My wife had been intrigued by their cookbook for years. We arrived at 5:30pm on a beautiful day and chose seating on the limited-seating outside front porch. It was perfect. Our meal was great and reasonably priced off the Happy Hour menu. The staff... I don't know what it is about this place but we've eaten here twice and BOTH times we got sick. Is it technically food poisoning? Not sure. I only know we realized that we had to stay home to be near a bathroom after dining there BOTH times. He had the rabbit ravioli. I have since learned an insider secret.... More

Our proprietor told us about this place that is run by a husband and wife team. When we approached the "house," we were greeted by "the wife." I'm from the South, and she displayed the same type of hospitality known throughout my region. Every part of the meal was delicious and fresh! The drinks were prepared perfectly, the servers friendly... More

Charming and elegant restaurant in a lovely old house in trendy NW 21st neighborhood. It's our go-to place for any and every special occasion (and sometimes that special occasion might just be a Tuesday....!) Things I love about Paley's..... Beautifully prepared, local and fresh ingredients, great service, innovative menu, fabulous wine list, full bar, many menu items offered in full... More

The second night of our honeymoon we decided to treat ourselves and went to the intimate Paley's Place. The food was the best we had the whole 10 days, servers were very nice and informative and we had a fantastic time. Perfect for a romanic night out. Definitely try the cheese too. Mind blowing.

Stay at the funky Inn @ Northrup Station Hotel , and walk around the corner to this haven of foodie delights. Arriving late without a reservation , I was seated at the bar , and given the full menu to choose from. The charcuterie plate beckoned.....the bacon-wrapped pork terrine was to die for , and the accompanying salad bursting with... More

Great service and presentation to go with great food. Prices are actually very reasonable. The "half portion" size is actually what most of the world considers a full meal. A really nice evening.
