Paley's Place is one of those gourmet, organic restaurants that sources their ingredients locally and is run by an award-winning chef. Prices are crazy, but the food and service is absolutely fantastic. Definitely a splurge, but one we decided was well worth it. We started with the steak tartare and the taste of all charcuterie platter. Oh dear Lord. These... More

I would consider the meal that we had here to be the most overpriced meal for the quality and taste. I understand that everything they do tries to incorporate as much of the NW as possible and live the GREEN concept but I will never stop in here again. There are many more eating establishments within a 5 block radius... More

We were at Paleys on a lovely warm evening and had a table on the veranda so problems others have reported of being too hot and the tables being too close together didn't apply. We loved sitting on the veranda, had excellent service and enjoyed delicious food. The availability of half portions was very welcome and meant we could happily... More

Had high expectation about this place but being let down. Seats are pretty close together and the place is a bit hot, hard to have a private conversation since people are on top of each other. Food was okay, nothing spectacular and the escargot bouillabaisse was un-appealing. sorry...

The ambiance of Paley's is wonderful enough and friendly, professional to boot! But the best part of the evening was my Braised Oxtail on Gnocchi! Simply superb...I did not want it to end. The salted caramel creme brulee was wonderful as well. I would definitely recommend and would love to return, myself! Give it a go.

We ate here our first evening in Portland and were really impressed by the food and the wine list. Excellent, inspired cooking, fresh, local ingredients and innovative presentation make Paleys Place a great restaurant. This despite being in a city, where new places open up each year with long lines, however venerable restaurants are still given their due. The service... More

The location is good and there is heated outdoor seating. This is a remodeled house and the space is packed but still enough room to have a conversation. However we had to hear the college student at a neighboring table go on and on throughout our meal. had a reservation and waited at least 30 minutes for our table. We... More

Although location near streetcar stop and menu looked nice, main dishes were way too salty. We did like starter and the sorbet ice for desert,

When previous dinner plan's fell thru, a local friend took me to Paley's because having been there many times, she knew it was a guaranteed hit! Located in what looks like a renovated home, this cozy location is great for an intimate dining experience where the conversation is just as important as the menu. But the menu is mouthwatering...so you'll... More
