The food is good and local so the menu changes from time-to-time. What I really like is that many of their entrees are offered in both half and full portions. And the half portions are really good-sized. The lamb is delicious. The wine list is extensive with lots of Oregon wines. We went early on a Sunday night so service... More

Only a relative small restaurant that looks like someones living room. Service sometimes a bit slow but it was busy. Food was very nice and they had a nice wine slection. We enjoyed our dinner here. Had been to Paleys before but will come back next time. One of the best restaurants in Portland.

We had very high expectations of this restaurant from what we read (on the internet, in a guide book). This restaurant is not worth the money. The best thing we had to eat was the bread and the butter that was softened before serving. The wine list is totally overpriced (and deceptive upon reading). The basic vinagrette for a green... More

Although I have been to Portland many times I had never been to Paley's Place. I had dinner there during my stay and it was excellent. The rooms are lovely, the staff very well trained and accommodating and the food was excellent. Our server was not only knowledgeable, but really polite and helpful. I had soft shell crabs and that... More

We walked in off the street, since we were staying at the Inn at Northrup Station next door and had spent the day riding bikes in the rain at the Columbia River Gorge. We were just happy to be warm and dry. But then we started tasting the food and truly content set in. The staff was wonderful as was... More

Paley's has been one of the top rated restaurants in Portland for several years. It's reputation is still well deserved. Get ready for a relaxed evening of special treats. Make sure to save room for the chocolate cake soufflé with vanilla ice cream. It is the best sweet I've ever had.

My wife and I were visiting friends in Portland last weekend. We love great food and our friends always try to pick out the best spots to show us when we visit. Our group was large(14) and we know that can be a pain for restaurants/waitstaff. Four of us arrived early and were seated at our table to wait for... More

We love Kimberly and Vitaly Paley, and they treat our family like old friends so this review is based partly on that longstanding rapport. However, for a delicious and relaxed dining experience, Paley's is still one of the best. Their attention to wine and food paring is excellent, they are intuitive in their approach and honor local ingredients. We enjoy... More

We have been long time fans, but the restaurant seems to have been slipping over the last few years, possibly due to less of the chef's involvement. The restaurant is dated, the environment lacks energy and the food is too salty.

Paley's feels like you are walking in to someone's house, and the warm welcome lives up to the expectation. The food and wine are some of the best I have had in Portland. I had the tartare appetizer and the salmon for an entrée. Great service, great food and great wine, but the real surprise was that the price was... More
