We recently had to choose one place to eat in Portland on a quick trip and after much research chose Paley's. We were not disappointed. Their genius half portions of their mains gives folks a chance to try a few dishes. The two of us had the grilled asparagus with ricotta and preserved lemon and a half order of the... More

My wife and I love Paley's Place. They are a top tier restaurant, and very accommodating. We have a number of food restrictions and they not only accommodate them, but the food tastes fabulous. It is a bit pricey so we only tend to go one time each time we go to Portland, but we do go each visit. They... More

We are locals and eat out at nice restaurants often. We splurged tonight for a special occasion with the family and chose what we thougth would be the best restaurant in town. The meal was lovely, but the service was really disappointing. They were incredibly understaffed. The experience was not what we were hoping for. What a bummer.

Dinner was wonderful! Had the halibut baked in paper. Never enjoyed that before but it was moist, tender and very flavorful! I enjoyed the most that it wasn't overly rich. Topped off dinner with espresso and warmed rubarb donuts. Definitely recommend this quaint location. Friendly service as well.

A friend of ours highly recommended Paley's, and now we know why. Our waiter seemed a bit hesitant at first but warmed up as the night went on. My friend ordered the steelhead, and I had the elk cutlet. Both were offered as half-portions on the menu which was very convenient as we both like to share, and we wanted... More

One of the best little places in Portland. Really liked the escargot, and the bread, but really everything is good!

Visited here with friends during Portland dining month. (March 2015) One friend had the three course set menu for $29 which looked excellent. Others ordered off the menu and also enjoyed their meals. Our party of seven was seated near the kitchen door, which was a little distracting at times, but it was fully booked on a Monday evening so... More

This was my second visit. Our first was about 8 years ago but we forgot the name. We were unable to locate it again as it was a bit further north of Burnside than we had searched. Anyway, I stayed at the Northrup Station Hotel on the 17th and 18th and Paley's was right on the corner. I had the... More

Dinner at Paley's Place was nothing short of OUTSTANDING. I have never had a more tender, juicy, and delicious steak, than the one I had here! Their food is presented beautifully, with good size portions, and tastes divine! It's a small restaurant so reservations are a must. The cozy atmosphere is great because it doesn't get too noisy. They also... More
