Perfect location to cultural events

Right up the street from major theaters, the restaurant is perfectly located to eat before or after the symphony, children's theater and other live events. It is a bite pricey but it is countered by convenience. I took my grandchildren to brunch on a Sunday before a play. Given the decor (very... read more

We came with another couple for dinner before the Oregon Symphony played next door at the Schnitzer concert hall, and brought a couple of very special bottles of wine. I gave a heads up to the waiter that the sommelier was welcome to a taste. He stopped by the table to chat with us, since he was unfamiliar with one... More

The restaurant food and drink was excellent! Their mojito was delicious. The 50 Shades cocktail was a humorous bonus. We had salad and Steak Frites. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth. I enjoyed the pan seared foie gras, though my husband wasn't as adventurous as I. The wait staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. This was an excellent introduction to downtown... Amazing adventure for a Guy to attend a afternoon tea at the Heathman hotel for the holidays. Well, i did this last Christmas season and i enjoyed all the great food and fresh HOT tea. The Christmas decorations all around the hotel made this a wonderful adventure. i would recommend this for all men even the tough men. Relax and... More

We go downtown every so often and always go to the Heathman. Eggs Benedict is unbeatable. Either Salmon or traditional. Other choices are top-notch. Great wait staff. Every time we go we've had great service.

I was looking forward to a great meal and instead was forced into a "price fixed" valentine's special. No worries...lots of good sounding choices. Smoked salmon appetizer came in without capers or shallots.... what? Martini came with a chipped champagne glass and a piece of glass in the drink...you would think they would offer a complementary replacement glass...but you would... More

We ate brunch twice at The Heathman Restaurant during our stay in Portland. My husband and I are avoiding bread, etc. The restaurant staff were very accommodating. We ordered the Dungeness Crab Benedict and asked to replace the bread with a green salad. We were so impressed with the large chunks of real crab meat accompanied by perfectly poached eggs... More

Great food and impeccable service. A little pricey, but worth it. They also have a lovely tea room with a roaring fire!

Although pricey, the food tends to be outstanding and we appreciate the convenient location to the PCPA. However, twice out of the past four visits we had to leave before the main course could be served because of unacceptably slow service times. The first time this happened, the staff bent over backwards to make things right for us and we... More

We ate at the Heathman twice during our recent stay in Portland. We made sure that we had a reservation since this is a very popular dinning place. Our servers were excellent and very attentive even the management rounded on the tables. Food was excellent I had the crab omelet and I got real crab. Yeah!!
