My husband and I love to go here for late night happy hour and drinks. The drink menu is bigger than their actual dinner menu, organized by liquor which makes the decision less overwhelming. If you love coffee drinks try the Foxy Brown...my favorite! If you want a bite to eat try the pork noodles or their fries. Delicious!

We are here after a few beers at a local brewpub. Great menu and open until very late. The Japanese burger and the Pad Thai were excellent.

We stumbled cross this place for a late dinner, when we were staying at the Benson across the street. The inside was funky and dramatic. The dining choices were Asian but with a very intriguing spin. We chose a mix of starters, since we had decided to be a bit daring. Every bite was a pleasant surprise--especially the dumplings (not standard... More

Just left Saucebox after visiting at the recommendation of our hotel staff...(whose judgment we are now laughing about!) We arrived w no reservations to find plenty of empty tables in sight. A young man (Asian w lots of tattoos) led us in, looked around the restaurant for 2 seconds, and then literally threw us at the first table in the... More

Thank you very much for your honest feedback. While I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed your meal, I'm disappointed to hear you had such a gruff introduction to our restaurant. This is the last thing we want! I'm very glad to hear Jared stepped in and saved the day. We think he is a fantastic server too, so we'll be... More

Just ate at the restaurant last night with my husband and 14 year old daughter. Food was great- menu very inventive. The sushi was fresh and delicious. Loved the sweet potato spring rolls. Daughter and I had the Korean ribs which were delicious. Husband enjoyed the clams- fresh and tasty. Cocktail menu very inspired. Great wine selection. Best thing about... More

Went here by chance when visiting Portland and what a great find. The restaurant was busy and we needed a table for two plus our baby. It seemed like it was going to be a problem but we were seated rather quickly. The waiter was great, he was probably one of the best waiters I have ever had, I told... More

This is a great place to go for happy hour. We walked in early, about 4:15 and there were plenty of seats available. We were able to get one right by the window for some great people-watching. Happy hour prices start at just $1 for some appetizers. For $5 you can get a decent-sized dish. Cocktails are creative and yummy!... More

I had made reservations for 12 people at Saucebox, and our group arrived on time. I ordered one roll of sushi (8 pieces) but was not full when I finished it, so I asked to order more food. The waiter replied, "We are too busy and the kitchen is backed up, you will have to order later," and he walked... More

It's very surprising to read your review, Gina. We want each and every one of our guest to leave feeling fully satisfied, and I apologize this wasn't the case for you. While your server could have been very busy, I'm shocked that they would discourage you from ordering more food outright. I'd love to get to the bottom of this,... More

My husband and I recently visited Portland and received advice from a friend to visit here during their Happy Hour. I am SO glad we took that advice! The best happy hour you've ever been to? Now that's a compliment! Thanks for making us a part of your time in Portland, but we apologize if you felt neglected once we got a bit busier. Seldom can a traveler pair a hotel and a restaurant together like one does with a food and wine, but in Portland, you can. Stay at the Inn at Northrup Station and have dinner at the Saucebox.
