Great Sushi and Octopus

We were looking for a small meal and drinks and someone recommended trying the Saucebox. Overall happy with service and ambience. Could have been a bit tidier, but just some objects on the floor, etc. nothing appalling. The sushi rolls and octopus were great, with a good mix of flavors and fresh... read more

The large selection of cocktails was nice. The food was very fresh and tasty, with a great combination of flavors. Service was attentive and fast. We really enjoyed all of the dishes and drinks that we tried, but it was on the pricey side.

We dined here because we had an opentable.com voucher to redeem. It was porbably the best dinner we had during our three night stay in Portland. It's in a central area of downtown, the menu is unique and light, and the service is great about making recommendations, and not rushing your dining experience. Although I would suggest wearing business casual... More

Really happy we found/discovered Saucebox. The food was excellent- we tried a little bit of everything here and everything was fantastic. Our waitress was great nad very helpful with suggestions. We had the salad rolls, the crispy brussel sprouts- OUTSTANDING and the tapioca balls/dumplings which to me sounded odd and not very interesting were probably our favorite thing we had.... More

My coworker's and I stopped into Saucebox on a very late Thursday night. At first, I was a little thrown off by how dark the restaurant was, but after time I felt relaxed. It did take a little longer than usual to get served a drink, but the server made up for it with his great customer service skills. We... More

There's a lot of great food in Portland. In fact, that is one of my favorite things about my recent trip to Portland. But Saucebox was hands down my favorite dinner. They have a huge list of delicious cocktails, and amazing food and appetizers. The food was a great blend of traditional for my steak and potatoes husband and me... More

They have interesting sushi creations. Not bad but I found the potions to be a bit small. Long and varied list of speciality drinks. Service was good. Our waiter was a bit overbearing. He wanted to interject himself in our group conversation. Kind of weird. But he was attentive and brought our food promptly. Nice atmosphere too.

Really interesting Asian Fusion Cuisine. The bar area was nice very large and roomy but the dining room was very nice complete with linen table cloths. The background music was Sinatra type and at a very nice volume level that enhanced the surroundings. I had two appetizers that were great and filling with nice side sauces accompanying them. More than... More

If you're entertaining business associates from any where in the world and you have a party of 10+, Saucebox is worth a try. The bar/wait staff are excellent. I have the chef choose appetizers and dishes to pass so everyone can chat and just eat fantastic food from America, Asia, and Europe. The wine/cocktail menu are very international and the... More
