So, first of all, an admission: I don't like coffee. Please put the knives away, it just means more for the rest of you, after all. But I do like Rimsky's: their tea, hot chocolate, and other beverages are quite good, and their desserts are great. I wouldn't say they're the best I've ever had anywhere, but they're really, really... More

Great date night out! Relaxing live guitar music, fun quirkyness, and good desserts. Highly recommended for an off the beaten path calmer nightlife

A nice place to meet a few friends. The live music, delicious desserts, and fun atmosphere makes this one of a kind. Don't miss it - there's no indication it's anything other than an old house along SE 12th except for the neon "open" sign in the window. And don't expect fast food - either in taste or time. If... Shocking how terrible the service was at this place!! The waitress was verbally rude to our table of five. I asked her if there was any specials we shouldn't miss and she make a face at me and said "well, I haven't tried everything." When she brought the coffee out to us she reached over me and dumped a spoon... More

The marrionberry cobbler was phenomenal and the black current tea refreshing. Had the table that changes height, and the odd upstairs makes it a safe bet to throw first visitors for a loopy adventure.

This is one of the first places I visited in Portland and I still love it today. Set in an old house (Portland style), the place almost always boasts some sort of live music and always wonderful desserts and coffee. Thrift store chairs and eclectic tables and furniture make it feel like you've invited a bunch of friends over for... More

Stopped by here after theatre on Saturday about 10:30 and could hardly find a table. This is a very ecclectic old house decorated for Halloween right now and it was so popular that people were still arriving in a constant stream. The food looked good, but I didn't have a dessert. I just had tea but my friends said the... More

We were to Rimsky's after a great dinner at the Screen Door. Ordered Raspberry Fool and two cappuccinos, which were delightful and delicious. Didn't stay for any music, but enjoyed our stay. The coffee house had a quaint Victorian vibe, but the bathroom's creepy and i couldn't get past the door, although I took several pictures. Without giving anything away,... More

I love this quirky little gem! The decor is cozy and just the teensiest bit spooky, the live classical music is fantastic, and the coffee/tea/desserts are just perfect. The almond steamer is the best I've ever had anywhere in the country; it has spoiled me on them anywhere else. And be sure to visit the bathroom while you're there.

As you pull up to Rimsky's for the first time, you may be wondering if you are in the right place (and may have already driven by it a couple times without knowing it was there). It just looks like an old house - no large sign out front, no parking lot, just a tiny lit sign in the window.... More
