Delicious Soup!

Was here on a girls trip to Portland, and we had heard we needed to try this place out. Very lovely ambiance. We had a bit of a wait to get in for lunch, but then were finally seated after about 30 minutes. First I have to say that all of the food was incredible! The service however was very... read more

After we were seated it took some time to get to us. Upon ordering drinks it took a while to get 2 bloody Mary's (over 10 min). We felt the waitress was working by herself. Not to mention the hostess was trying to rush us to flip the table when we had not even had our drinks yet! Upon the... More

We saw Papa Haydn and couldn't pass it up because the plates looked so fresh. It was about 2:30pm, and there was no wait. While the restaurant was full, there were still some empty tables. Our waitress was pleasant and seemed very accustomed to serving in a sophisticated setting. That is one thing about this place I should point out...it... More

If you're in the Rose City... venture over to "Nob Hill" (aka Alphabet District) and indulge yourself with one of PH's wonderful desserts. And if you need a meal too.... do that! They have everything from salads to sandwiches to entrees. (Oh and they serve adult beverages!) If you're trying to get in during any evening or on the weekend,... More

Short: Very long wait (some diners hanging at tables long after their meals were finished). Some dishes were well done with minor flaws others more of a real disappointment. Server was good, not great, busy but not overwhelmed. Long: With no waiting area, you hang around outside or walk the neighborhood. We chose the latter which was fun, but the... More

We went in at 5:15, with 3 adults and 3 children. I had warm cauliflower salad (honest), curried coconut soup and a very rich chocolate desert. Other adults ordered Palermo Pasta. All were great, with the pasta earning a "fantastic". Were so good, I asked for recipes... but no luck. Wait staff were very cordial, really hustled and knowledgeable about... More

My husband and I tried a place we had never been before on 23rd street in Portland, Oregon. The atmosphere is fantastic, cozy and open. The service was perfect and the food was so amazing I wanted to go back the next day. I had a organic raised hamburger with some amazing sauce the chef made from scratch on a... More

Delicious desserts, but both our entrees were salty. I can see why they are known for their desserts, and there is so much to choose from. Next time though, I think I would rather eat at the jo bar side, and Ive had their desserts before... they were incredible, and there isnt too much to choose from.

Server was slow on a Sunday night. We ordered onion soup-good, steak and chicken. Both had very little flavor. Potatoes were just slices of potatoes with nothing on them. Decided on dessert to go. When we got back to the hotel, it was not as good as we expected. Lacking in flaoir all around in dinner. Will not go back... More
