Food was great. Unfortunately there is a very limited menu and a little high on price for what you get. We had a very nice dinner there but my boyfriend went home hungry because the portions are so small and come with no sides (which unless you've been there, you wouldn't know this because it's not clear on all entrees... Perfect place for a special occasion! The food is also good, but after a meal, it's tough to also finsih a desert - so plan on leftovers. Something for everyone from gorgeous pies, cakes, cheesecakes, cookies to ice creams. Everything is ginormous and the servers are happy and friendly, too. Worth the wait.

I always bring new Portland visitors to Papa Haydn for dessert. Expect a wait! We went on a Saturday night (about 10:00) and had a 45 minute wait. Any of the desserts will be delicious!

Probably known more for their desserts and cake business based on how many people were there for dessert only, I was happily surprised how good their food was! French Onion Soup - the best and their Chicken pasta dish to die for. My husband ate a fabulous dessert and I enjoyed the ambiance. Great meal and price was reasonable!

I've been enjoying Papa Haydn's in Portland for 30 years since it first opened, and they never disappoint. Creative entrees using fresh, local ingredients, great wine list and Portland's best dessert case make a memorable meal. Don't miss it if you're visiting Stumptown!

A small, cozy restaurant on a main street in Portland. We had lunch there. No waiting. Quiet inside, with a fireplace. There were actually a few different sections to the restaurant. A bar section, two small rooms with street views and an area that is probably more for quicker lunches. The food was wonderful. We each had a wonderful seafood... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant and had one of the loveliest lunches in this intimate setting with fabulous food and service. I had the broccoli rabe sandwich with fresh mozzarella, my husband had the pulled roast chicken with cranberry and bacon. I also had the white bean soup and house made cider. Don't miss this one!

I usually go to the SE Portland location which is small, but has always been good. We were in NW and were looking forward to eating a good meal in a nice setting. It was 5:30 on a weeknight and there were few people in the restaurant. Service was friendly, but the food coming out of the kitchen was a... More

We stopped fir coffee and we ended up with panna cotta and pasdion fruit ice cream with coconut. Good stuff but not my style. Big dessert portions.

I have been going here for many years and what I noticed on my recent visit was the increase in prices for soup, salads, meals etc. The desserts are , as always worth the price, as are the drinks. I think that their menu is trying too hard to be "gourmet" and "trendy". I had the soup of the day... More
