Great dessert choices

Decent food and great dessert choices. Service was a little slow but attentive. I'll come back for desserts next time.

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Portland! We had dinner and dessert and everything was wonderful. The mediterranean salad was gluten free and amazing, as was the cheesecake. The boys had grilled cheese with tomato soup, lemon chiffon cake, and six layer glacé. All was amazing and reasonably priced!

This is the second time I have eaten here. The first was a year ago when I was with a group of women and we were walking to this area from the Japanese Gardens. This was one of the first restaurants we came across and we decided to try it. It was wonderful. Now, a year later I am back... More

It's nestled in the middle of the historical alphabet district, perfect for sightseeing and shopping! Everything is fresh and made in-house. Our meals were perfectly cooked and full of delicious flavor! After a perfect meal we had our choice of over 20 different desserts that all looked amazing! A must try if you are ever in the area!

There is a reason they are famous for desserts. Everyone of them is amazing. However, they have a Russian chef and honestly he's not very good. The dinner menu is simply weird. I'm glad I started with the bleu cheese salad because I sent my main course back. I think it's their attempt to be Portland weird, but it's simply... More

We did a walk in with Papa Haydn’s last night. This is primarily a dessert restaurant and we did not have dessert, so read on for a non-dessert review of Papa’s. We had no problem getting a table at 8pm. I had called around 7:30 and asked about 8:00 pm reservations. Was told that they might be able to do... More

Everyone goes to Papa Haydn's for the desserts, with good reason! They are AMAZING!! I tried 4 and loved them all! But I do want to say the food, although perhaps overshadowed by the spectacular desserts, is excellent too. We had lunch, did some shopping, then went back for Prosecco and dessert. Now THAT'S a great way to spend an... More

This is a nice place! They have a long menu of delicious desert. I went with a friend after dinner and we ordered their lemon cake. Amazing! I also ordered a hot chocolate that came with a big yummy marshmallow. The environment is pleasant to go with friends or even for a date. I can't wait to go again and explore... More

This was our fourth visit to Papa Haydn over several years, so it is our “go to” place that has consistently great food. My partner is from Portland, so he and his family have made this Portland institution a must on every visit. The menu is diverse, so you can eat as heartily as you want (steak) or lightly (fish... Had a very pleasant dinner here with friends last week. Restaurant was crowded but cold (it was as though the AC was blowing on our table and the waiter was unable to have it regulated). Food was very good but we were disappointed there weren't more vegetarian choices. The desserts, however, were awesome. Split some kind of triple-chocolate cake with... More
