My wife and I were in Portland for one night and chose this restaurant. The food was excellent and the service just as good. Desserts were great and so was the Prawn Pasta.

Ok, so normally in a restaurant review you write about the food. However, this review is about their housemate watermelon lemonade. Seriously good. You have to try it. For lunch we had a hearty white bean soup which was very good, and a salad which I don't recall. We shared the banana cream pie which was an obscene sized portion... More

love the deserts here! Also great food. I love the chicken liver pate is great, even though my wife and daughter do not like it. ( they are not open minded )

Stopped by around 9:00 at night and got a lovely table outside. Papa Haydn is in the trendy 23rd Ave. area of Portland and is very well known - and I can see why. Despite the fact that they were packed inside and out, the service was incredibly friendly but not too formal. The waitress recommended a white wine I... More

Cake for lunch? Yes. It had been about 15 years since I last enjoyed the incredibly sumptuous desserts here. We were in the area for our dear friends' wedding. Stunningly, there was no cake at the celebration! As a serious lover of 'white cake', this called for a certain trip to P.H. Having spent all those years fantasizing about their... More

Stopped by here for the desserts as they are beyond believable. Top notch service and the adult beverages were very tasty. Ask for a seat on the sidewalk so you can people watch. The happy hour was a real deal as the drinks were the real deal, not watered down happy hour drinks.

Went for dessert and coffee on a gorgeous Saturday night. Got a table outside to people watch and were well looked after by waiting staff. Had the Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cheesecake and the Coconut Cream Cake. OMG they were Absolutely Fabulous. Coffee was excellent too. 23rd Street is a delightful and entertaining place to be. A "Must Do" for... More

We heard this area was quintessential Portland so we gave it a try for lunch. My daughter and I both had the salmon salad. It was very good as was the bread served hot before the meal. The waiter was a delight and reminded my daughter of the show "Portlandia" so she was very happy with the food, the service... More

We ate elsewhere but wanted to try the desserts here, so we picked out a couple and took them back to our hotel room. Portions were large, befitting the large boxes they were packed in. My wife adored her chocolate mint mousse cake. It was smooth and creamy, with just the right proportions of mint and chocolate. She intended to... More
