Had the pleasure of going to this fine establishment last weekend. The restaurant has a great vibe and the table by the kitchen was so fun. It was a real treat watching the kitchen staff do their thing. And let me tell you they do it well. The menu had lots to choose from and from what I saw coming... More

Cafe Mingo is a sister restaurant to Bar Mingo, which is right next door. I've eaten in the Bar and the food was good, but the Cafe outdid her brother. From the wine through the salad to the entree, everything was wonderful. My salad was the butter leaf lettuce with shaved fennel, grapes, prosecco vinaigrette, candied walnuts and wine soaked... My husband surprised me with dinner here for our anniversary. I loved all the unique menu items. I had the risotto; it was yummy. The wait staff was very friendly, it seemed like he knew everyone and the couple next to us said they ate here every week. I want to come back and try other items. The only reason... More

This little restaurant has an imaginative menu that is exceptionally executed. Who knew that Brussels Sprouts could be so good? If you go on a weekend, I hope you have the pleasure of having Katie serve you. She knows the menu, picks right up on likes and dislikes and can recommend just the right wine. I can't wait to return.

Great small restaurant with open kitchen, friendly and efficient staff and wonderful food. We especially enjoyed the appetizers (creative, flavourful), the dessert and the wines. The wait staff are very experienced and know their stuff (rely on their recommendations!). There are options for vegetarians and carnivores alike. The place was full when we first arrived but we went next door... More

Wife and I dined on a Sunday evening. Reserved in advance and staff was very accommodating when we phoned to arrive early. This neighborhood gem was delightful from start to finish. Service was outstanding and the food simply perfect. We enjoyed a nice Chianti with the beet salad and heirloom tomato caprese. Entrees were an extremely fresh halibut and my... More

What a jewel of restaurant. We fortunately arrived minutes before they opened on a Saturday at 4:50 PM. We received a warm welcome, great service and really nicely done food. Have the specials. We had the Sugo and the appetizer shrimp with fennel. Wine list was nice with excellent choices by the glass or bottle.

Definitely a place to return to and enjoy. Almost everything was just a bit better than one might expect from a small and friendly neighborhood place. San Daniele an upgrade from the usual prosciutto di Parma; a fine Barbaresco on special at a near-retail price. No-kidding heirloom tomatoes, out-of-this-worlod artichokes and melt-in-your mouth risotto. Probably 20% better value than a... More

Had dinner at this lovely neighborhood restaurant in Portland, on 21st Ave near Burnside. We had to wait about 30 minutes, but the hostess took my phone number, and called me when the table was ready, which allowed us to stroll this hip neighborhood. We sat outside, at a table on sidewalk. It was nice evening, and fun to people... More

We spend an early evening at this restaurant, located in the incredible Alphabet District. Perfect weather, patio open and full, very warm decor. Nothing pretentious about this place. High quality, welcoming atmosphere. The service was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. No pretensions, just excellent recommendations and a very real desire to make our dinner memorable. The food was simply delicious.... More
