I enjoyed this restaurant a great deal and rank it just just below excellent - at least a 4.5. It focuses on fresh ingredients and the dishes tend to be on the somewhat lighter side. The food was very good, but I think I expected dishes that were a bit more complex or adventurous. My daughter and i both had... More

I emailed Higgins early afternoon as they were not yet open, requesting a reservation for that same evening. I had a rely within an hour confirming the reservation. The specials we ordered were fresh, delicious, and well worth the price. The restauraunt is clean and inviting, the servers attentive. We had a very enjoyable dining experience.

Enjoyed a recent dinner prior to the ballet however for the price did not feel that Higgins was worth the money. The food, while local was very rich, perfectly presented (warm plates, presentation gets an 'A') but the price seemed expensive for what it was. Very convenient to the theatres and service is sensitive to curtain times.

They pride themselves on their local ingredients and they do wonders with them. The service is attentive; the ambience is pleasing and relaxing and the food is both wonderfully prepared and artfully presented.

We love dining at Higgins. I feel I can freely choose any menu item and know that it is GMO free and the ingredients are as local. The food is exceptional along with the service. I feel pampered.

Higgins food and beverages are all carefully and artfully crafted. My husband and I have been patrons for over ten years. The restaurant and bar have only improved over these years. We are foodies and Higgins has always served very well thought out dishes and handmade cocktails. There is only one problem, too many people know about Higgins now, it... More

A recent return to Higgins (I went when it first opened, having loved the dishes the chef created when he worked for the Heathman) was expensive, but perfectly decent. We were a party of six and had made a reservation; although we had to wait a good half hour to be seated, we were allowed (after asking) to have drinks... More

This is one of the most consistently good restaurants in Portland. The food and service are always top notch. Higgins is not trendy or hip. But the bar serves generous drinks and the dining room is quiet enough to have a conversation with others. The location is the best in Portland for events at the local live theaters, Portland Art... It's the Bistro I love. The bar is gorgeous old wood, atmosphere very comfortable and citified. Drop in before the symphony, play, jazz or after work. Great vegan options. Great olive oil. Roasted fingerlings a favorite of mine. Settle in and enjoy - broad beer selection - expensive but delicious wines. Try it, you'll like it.

Chef Greg is always at the top of his game. I have never been disappointed. I choose it for special evenings with friends or for cooks night out. I feel like each dish has been especially prepared for me!
