This café is in the historic Northwest neighborhood. All the food is fresh. In fact they have their own garden in back of the restaurant. We had panko fried chicken and waffle. The menu is fabulous especially the breakfast. There is a charming outdoor patio which is heated in chilly weather. You will not be disappointed - put Besaw's on... More

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast right at 8 am. We sat on the patio and loved the various options for seating. Above all, the breakfast food was great! My hubs had the breakfast burger and a mimosa, and I enjoyed a breakfast scramble with a berry reduction. Loved the food quality!

We came here for dinner one night and sat outside under the covering. We had a round of beers and great food. The service could have been slightly better but overall the experience was pretty good. I started with the soup of the day, and we all shared a few things: fried chicken, burger, and the baked mac. All three... More

I spent the first eighteen years of my life living in a house two blocks from Besaw's. My how things have changed in 50 years! Growing up, this restaurant was mainly a bar and I only remember it as a place to avoid due to the rowdiness. No more, today it anchors the "Alphabet" district which is filled with trendy... More

While visiting Portland, I was encouraged by locals to eat at Besaw's. The farm hash was delicious. The service was attentive and the outdoor tables were comfortable even though they were placed on either side of the sidewalk. There was minimal foot traffic and a very friendly atmosphere. I will definitely revisit when I visit again next summer.

I've been here 3 times in as many visits to Portland. One of these times I will have to come here for a meal other than breakfast. T notch breakfast place. Excellent service, fun menu and excellent food/drink. They go above and beyond to please the customer.

Another farm to table restaurant/pub, a definite movement in Portland that I hope advances to the East Coast on a larger scale. Had great burgers and Reuben sandwiches and a good beer selection.

Went after the crowds around 2PM still busy but service was very good. The server was extremely pleasant (Lisa?), timely and took very good care of us. The food is always good at Besaw's and we weren't disappointed. Just be careful when you go the lines can be long on the weekends.

We had researched Besaw's prior to arrival in Portland on an early morning flight. The wait was to be expected but once seated we waited and waited for everything. We only saw our waiter twice all other table service was done by others. Our wish to celebrate the start of vacation was communicated to staff but ignored. Breakfast should not... More

Decided to try their breakfast because I liked their lunch. Glad I did. Had the Farmer's Hash. The food was delicious, fresh, and tasty. Loved the rosemary potatoes. Added a refreshing and well balanced Bloody Mary to complete the meal.
