Description: Bluehour means different things to different people. In French literature it describes any time of day "of heightened emotion." In Portland it has come to mean "a great place to dine." As the premier modern restaurant in the Pearl District, Bluehour opened its doors in 2000, with what Gourmet Magazine describes as, "the most sophisticated, contemporary food in town." Guests choose between the elegant dining room or the casual cafe and bar. Simple, delicious and classic describes the Mediterranean cuisine we create in the Bluehour kitchen each night. The menu is printed daily, but Bluehour standards remain, like the pillowy potato gnocchi with black truffle and the perfectly seared, bacon wrapped sea scallops. Our cheese cart is among the finest on the West Coast, featuring regional and international artisan cheeses.

Went here for a business lunch, nice atmosphere good for conversations. Menu was a bit limited although the food was good and they were accommodating to customize my order. Service was excellent and prompt. Overall good experience and would definitely like to go back for dinner.

We took our girls to Bluehour for a birthday celebration and love it. The staff was very attentive and kind, especially our waiter and the gentleman in charge of the splendid cheese offerings (make sure to talk with him and order cheese - he knows his stuff!). The drinks were excellent as was the wine selection. The food was wonderful... More

We had dinner at BlueHour this past Friday. Here's what was good: the restaurant is lovely. The food was quite good. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. He was attentive (enough). The drink menu and cocktails were good. The chocolate panna cotta, although much more like a mousse than panna cotta was delicious! Here's what was not up to what... More

I am sincerely sorry if there was a mix-up with your order the other evening. I can understand why you would be frustrated — there's no reason why you should have to wait longer than expected for your food! We'll make a point of checking in with the kitchen about what happened to ensure we don't have similar mix-up's. What... More

We went to Bluehour on New Year's Eve ... sat outside with our dog for a quick nosh plate. The service was outstanding - they happily turned on an outside heater for us, and our server checked in on us regularly. We'd intended to get dinner but the New Year's Eve menu was fixed and we didn't like the options.... More

Thanks for joining us on New Year's Eve! Though I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed the service, I apologize if you weren't satisfied with the portion sizes. Since the cheese plate is typically a starter, we tend to keep the portions smaller. Next time, feel free to let us know if you'd like more bread—we're more than happy to accommodate... More

We like to just walk around the Pearl and see what grabs us on any given night. We wandered past this restaurant and noticed the empty seats outside on such a nice warm night. They looked inviting but the place seemed really quite compared to the bustling downtown activity you find on a warm Portland evening. Checked the menu, filed... More

Went to Bluehour as the reviews were pretty good & it is known as a dog friendly restaurant so I wanted to check out. It was a rainy day so came without my dog. The bartender was nice but know very knowledgable. Good was ok-a little pricey considering what it was. I tried 2 wines-both so not good. It's a... More

We were recommended this place and although the cocktails were good we had much better in Portland. The tarragon pisco sour just didn't have any "kick" to it. A nice bouquet but no length in the taste. The Templeton Abbey and Brazillionaire fared better. Small food bites were a bit pricey at 10 dollars a pop. The ambiance is very... More

The tuxedo'd maitre d', cheese board, accommodating service make BlueHour stand out even among Portland's best dining spots. We had not been to this fine, "white table cloth" establishment for several years and decided to go before the theater. It was offering 1,000 pts on Open Table. The selection was somewhat limited, but everything that we had was excellent. The... More

Yes, hamburgers can be great, if they are done like we had at Bluehour. I suspect other dishes are also good, but we had arrived late in the evening and wanted something in the neighborhood where we were staying. Excellent.
