Description: Bluehour means different things to different people. In French literature it describes any time of day "of heightened emotion." In Portland it has come to mean "a great place to dine." As the premier modern restaurant in the Pearl District, Bluehour opened its doors in 2000, with what Gourmet Magazine describes as, "the most sophisticated, contemporary food in town." Guests choose between the elegant dining room or the casual cafe and bar. Simple, delicious and classic describes the Mediterranean cuisine we create in the Bluehour kitchen each night. The menu is printed daily, but Bluehour standards remain, like the pillowy potato gnocchi with black truffle and the perfectly seared, bacon wrapped sea scallops. Our cheese cart is among the finest on the West Coast, featuring regional and international artisan cheeses.

This was recommended by the hotel concierge as having "ambiance" if you consider thumping techno music and a seriously overpriced menu to have ambiance. The food was good, but small portions for the price. Not a good value. There are too many other fine restaurants in Portland to comeback here.

I'm really disappointed to read this, and I'm sorry that our vibe wasn't exactly for you. You mentioned that our menu seemed overpriced given the portions we provided, but our prices are based on the high quality ingredients we use and the skilled staff that we hire. I'm incredibly sorry that our flavors didn't make those prices more than worthwhile.... More

I had delightful dinner at Bluehour. Excellent service. Beautiful food. Great tasting. Prices at tad high for serving size.

Great atmosphere, great service excellent food other than the rib eye. I cannot get over why the most expensive entree in the menu is probably one of the most bland food I have ever eaten. Tip: over everything else but the rib eye.

Well this is disappointing to read. We never want our rib eye to leave you underwhelmed, so maybe we need to take a look at how we're preparing it. That said, our rib eye does usually impresses, so this may have just been a one-off situation. Regardless, I want your next experience with us to be better. If you visit... More

We have visited this restaurant three times, including dinner last December when it was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. We recently visited again this past August. We can't say enough about the menu - approachable for all (not pretentious) yet fit for foodies with respect to presentation and preparation. The wines by the glass are wonderful as is the... More

This first class, eclectic restaurant in the Pearl District, was a great way to finish our 10 day trip to the Pacific Northwest. The food had both great presentation and taste, the wine selection was wide ranging including a good choice of Oregon Wines. The service was attentive without being overbearing. Definitely worth a trip.

We were in the Portland area for just one night on a longer Pacific Northwest vacation and I stumbled upon this restaurant when researching things to do. I only booked it because it had a 1000 point Open Table reservation and I thought, why not? To my surprise it was fantastic. We were very under-dressed (it being a hiking vacation... More

The inside of this restaurant is super nice and the bar is a great place to have a few bites to eat and have some happy hour drinks. This is truly fine dining in an old warehouse that has been converted into a very appealing place in the Pearl District. It is expansive, but they have hung navy blue lightweight curtains to cordon off the table areas and cut down on the noise level. We had a nice waiter, Leif, who was attentive and pleasant. The drink menu... More

We loved almost everything about Bluehour in Portland's Pearl District. The menu, portions (not large but delectable and certainly enough to know you've dined well), service and decor were all excellent. The curtains between the tables provide privacy and intimacy in an otherwise large room and guests seemed to dress up for the occasion. The wine list was very creative... More

Music aside, we're happy to hear you enjoyed your visit! Thanks for sharing, Rhonda. In the future, don't hesitate to let us know if the music is bothering you -- we'll gladly turn it down. Hopefully we'll get the chance to welcome you back again soon but until then, take care. Best regards, Bruce Carey Owner More
