Description: Bluehour means different things to different people. In French literature...
Bluehour means different things to different people. In French literature it describes any time of day "of heightened emotion." In Portland it has come to mean "a great place to dine." As the premier modern restaurant in the Pearl District, Bluehour opened its doors in 2000, with what Gourmet Magazine describes as, "the most sophisticated, contemporary food in town." Guests choose between the elegant dining room or the casual cafe and bar. Simple, delicious and classic describes the Mediterranean cuisine we create in the Bluehour kitchen each night. The menu is printed daily, but Bluehour standards remain, like the pillowy potato gnocchi with black truffle and the perfectly seared, bacon wrapped sea scallops. Our cheese cart is among the finest on the West Coast, featuring regional and international artisan cheeses.

Scratchy Service

Very nice space to eat even when crowded. Thought went into hanging acoustic curtains around which really helped. And then there was some really great background music. Duck breast and foi gras were superb. Only downside was the really patchy service. Asked for an ice bucket for the wine which... read more

My husband and I joined 5 other people for a business dinner. Had a very nice table and an affable waiter. The Cocktails were tasty and fun as was the decorative Deserts. As for the appetizers and main course- I have to say that at least several of us were disappointed. The appetizers were tiny and expensive. I wish that... More

I'm sorry to see that our portion sizes let you down. Our appetizer options are all intended to be "small bite" portions, but it sounds like your server didn't explain that to you. As for your pork chop, I wish you would've let us know about that crust not being up to par -- we absolutely would've made things right.... More

Three nights in Portland three different dinner spots . We were downtown on business yesterday and decided to try Bluehour for lunch. We were delighted with the quality of the food. I ordered the scallops with potatoes and vert jus, and all were perfectly cooked. My husband enjoyed his chicken salad (although found it a bit overdressed for his liking -- perhaps we just need to remember to order... More

I was expecting a fabulous dining experience as we love the sister restaurant Clark Lewis.
