Description: Bluehour means different things to different people. In French literature...
Bluehour means different things to different people. In French literature it describes any time of day "of heightened emotion." In Portland it has come to mean "a great place to dine." As the premier modern restaurant in the Pearl District, Bluehour opened its doors in 2000, with what Gourmet Magazine describes as, "the most sophisticated, contemporary food in town." Guests choose between the elegant dining room or the casual cafe and bar. Simple, delicious and classic describes the Mediterranean cuisine we create in the Bluehour kitchen each night. The menu is printed daily, but Bluehour standards remain, like the pillowy potato gnocchi with black truffle and the perfectly seared, bacon wrapped sea scallops. Our cheese cart is among the finest on the West Coast, featuring regional and international artisan cheeses.

Scratchy Service

Very nice space to eat even when crowded. Thought went into hanging acoustic curtains around which really helped. And then there was some really great background music. Duck breast and foi gras were superb. Only downside was the really patchy service. Asked for an ice bucket for the wine which... read more

Want to have an experience with great service, food and drinks? Bluehour is a must. Seated immediately for a party of 3. We went during happy hour and had some amazing drinks which were creative and you could really tell that a lot of thought went into their creation on the menu and love into them when they were being... I was expecting a fabulous dining experience as we love the sister restaurant Clark Lewis. My partner and I both thought that the food was rather bland, the portions small and we left and had a bite to eat later elsewhere as we were actually still hungry. The menu selection was really a sliver of choices. I would like to... More

There are a lot of choices in the Pearl district and this was one of the places recommended by a local. It has an upscale vibe to it and is a good place to enjoy the scenery, both inside and out on the street. I had the smoked duck breast which had a very nice smoky flavor to it. The... More

It was a very special Valentine's Day evening we spent at Bluehour! This beautiful, elegant restaurant is very worthy of high praise for many reasons. An upscale restaurant in the Pearl. Great ambiance, good for social or private dining. Friendly and very accommodating personnel, exceptional wait staff providing great service. Food above average but pricey for sized portions. Excellent adherence to reservations and table requests.

This was my fourth dinner at Bluehour over the past three years and was definitely the least enjoyable. The previous visit was also a drop off from the first two in almost every way...
