We tried to get reservations here but for some reason the phone kept going straight to voice mail and said "don't leave a message for reservations." When we showed up, they said that there was a forty minute wait because we didn't have reservations, but they were able to seat us in about 15 minutes. The food was very good... More

We sat outside on a lovely spring night. The food was so delicious! Service was fast, though a bit on the cold side. The ambiance, with the accordion player who appears to have worked there forever, and the Italian speaking wait staff, was just the right touch to bring the whole meal together. I highly recommend the starciarella (sp?) pasta.... More

The food is just so perfect here! The staff is straight up Italian and they really know how to service the guests and serve up some good dishes. I love the Spaghetti Mare e Monti but I get it with the homemade parpardelle instead. So perfect! Another is Gino's favorite which is a really great carbonnara! The carafe of house... More

This is my new favorite Italian restaurant. The lasagna -- my go-to dish -- was as good as I can remember eating. The house wines -- extremely reasonable -- were wonderful. All the other members of our party were equally satisfied. The server, for such a busy place, was incredibly friendly and patient. The place is packed, and justifyingly so!

We went way out of our way to find this spot based on past trip advisor reviews and it was definitely worth the effort. The place was packed but we were able to get a table of 3 with no problem. We had 3 different pasta dishes, including the lasagna, and they were all excellent and accompanied by fresh, crusty... More

Visited Piazza Italia last month based on various online reviews/ratings and I am so glad that I did! The atmosphere was casual (sports bar feel), the service was friendly, and the food was fabulous. The restaurant's location in PDX's Pearl District is great too. I had the handmade papardelle with pesto and shrimp. The noodles were cooked perfectly, the pesto... More

Eleven of us had dinner here on a Friday night and the food was excellent, a bit long in coming, but definitely worth the wait. My dish was the bolognese and it was exceptional. The bread baskets and water glasses were continually refilled and freshened. Will definitely return.

No matter where you stay in Portland, make your way to the Pearl District and, specifically, to Piazza Italia. It doesn't look like much from the outside- but as soon as you step in, you won't want to leave. We didn't have reservations, but luckily we arrived right when they were opening the doors (6 p.m. I think?) and we... More

A group of 5 of us had dinner to celebrate being together and this was the perfect restaurant for the occasion. There was interesting Italian music playing - not schmaltzy, and the wait staff were very attentive and made great suggestions. The wine list was excellent and the food was piping hot, very tasty and beautifully presented. Even though the... More

If you are in Portland, go to the Pearl District! If you are in the Pearl, and you are hungry, find your way to piazza italia! It helps to have reservations. We didn't, and had to wait about ten minutes for a seat. It is worth the wait! This place is quaint, noisy and fun! We ordered the linguini carbonara,... More
