On our first day on our own in Portland, we stumbled upon this place (with a little help from TA) - and what a lucky punch that was: Today's pasta special with white wine and Italian beer. All excellent. We just had to go all the way and order some dessert as well. No regrets - we'll be back.

This place reminds me of Italy. Need I say more? Well I will because it was great! Amazing food and staff! I will be back and bringing my friends.

While the word "authentic" is overused these days, we really mean it this time! Eating at Piazza Italia reminded us of our meals in a piazza in Luca, Italy. The waitstaff was speaking in Italian, we were surrounded by fine wines and fresh foods, and all patrons were enjoying life. Early one afternoon, we just wanted something light so we... More

We were an hour early for our reservation and they kindly fit us in with a smile. Service was well paced and able - wirh some jokes and banter. The appetizer bruschetta pomodoro was delectable - good garlic and basil flavors. Insalata with mozzarella was good as well. Very, very good bread in basket - chewy! Special main dish home... More

We really need to try other Portland restaurants, but when in Portland for us there is only 1 destination. We've never been disappointed with the service or the great food. We got to eat outside on a perfect Portland night and the service was great. Our waiter was hopping, but with a great sense of humor and personal attention to... More

This is one very popular joint! Even a Monday night was packed, and the staff was hopping. There was nice live entertainment (two guys with guitars singing American and Italian songs). We had a version of carbonara. Pasta was cooked perfectly, sauce was good. Make reservations if you can, or else plan on a wait.

Great down home Little Italy type eatery and food. We are regulars there. People and food are fantastic. A must eat when visiting the Pearl District for real Italian food.

We stopped in for a late lunch. The staff performed their responsibilities adequately but were less than friendly. The menu is limited, mostly pasta - no pizza. Food was fine, not remarkable, and a little expensive for lunch. The kids' portions were small. We would not return.

Located in the Pearl District the restaurant has very good service, a good wine list and excellent Italian food. We ate there twice on a 4 day visit. Don't expect the typical chicken parmesan on the menu but what is there is real Italian cooking. The sauces do not overwhelm the food. We were most pleased.
