This small, crowded, somewhat noisy Italian restaurant provides delicious food and a great atmosphere. We try to visit whenever we are in Portland. We have never been disappointed. Weekend nights are especially fun because there is live music. We were not in town for the weekend so missed out on that. N.B. This is a small place with tables pretty... More

Went for New Years' Eve with my daughter. Not what I originally expected. Soccer jerseys across the ceiling, etc. Great atmosphere, and authentic Italian feel. I am Italian and grew up on the east coast and felt right at home. Best lasagne we've ever had. Ever. The ossobuco was excellent. Going back very soon.

There was a large group of us (15) meeting at Piazza Italia for dinner. I was really excited because I had heard such great things about this place. We arrived at the restaurant at different times but within 15 minutes of each other. Apparently this is not acceptable because owner/ greeter/ head person decided the last two people in our... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland (my husband and I even had our rehearsal dinner here a few years ago). It is small, so reservations are recommended, but once you are there the experience is just perfect. From great service to great food. The lasagne is spectacular! A must visit if you are wandering around the Pearl... More

I love love love the old school Italian staff and vibes! They are so so sweet, I adore them. Everything from the bread, wine, soccer on every TV, Caprese salad, Gino's favorite, Rigatoni bolognese.... Are all A+ Just wish it was a little bit bigger, more seating. But then it wouldn't be as quaint. Just make sure you have reservations,... More

We actually dined here twice in a week during a recent visit to Portland. It was that good. Certainly gives you the feeling that you are dining in a little place in Florence or Venice. We ate outside on our first visit and the feel was very European. The second visit we are inside. Very bustling. The food was very... More

I've eaten at piazza italia twice. First time the place was busy and food was good. Service was average to poor. The second time the food was too salty and not very good. Waiter messed up the order and definitely had an attitude as if it was "our" privilege to be waited upon by him. Too many other good authentic... More

We visited Portland and because we enjoy Italian food we went to Piazza Italia. Our food was very good but not spectacular. We then found out that Piazza Italia is well known for its pasta and one should always order pasta. The service was excellent as was the wine list. We will return to enjoy the pasta!

A must when visiting Portland, if you like authentic Italian cuisine. I have visited Italy many many times and this restaurant, in my opinion, is as close as you can get, without flying over the pond. The Spaghetti Aglio, Olio e Peperoncino, which is always my favorite dish to get whist in Italy, is perfection at Piazza Italia. The restaurant... More

Small family owned restaurant sure to delight any Italian lover. Great pasta selections, many with unexpected but tasty ingrediants. Owners serve with a smile! Enjoy
