Good food/drinks, horrible service and loud atmosphere

My coworkers and I go out after work once a month to enjoy a local happy hour and I must say we were all very disappointed with Huber's. This place is an establishment in Portland. A friend and I drove to Portland for Thanksgiving. Huber's is the oldest operating restaurant in the city. Their Thanksgiving dinner is just right. The menu for the holiday has several choices in addition to turkey. There was prime rib, combo turkey and ham and several others. We were even given a choice of white meat, dark meat, or turkey... We went here of lunch on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. My wife had the Spanish Coffee. It was a great show as they make the coffee at the table. The coffee itself was strong, with alcohol, but still enjoyable. She had the hot roasted turkey sandwich. It was huge and very good. I had the Monte Cristo. The Monte Cristo... More

I have stood in long lines for late night Spanish coffee served with a flair and equally long lines to pick up complete Thanksgiving dinners. This time introducing my Mom to the art of table side mixing of Spanish coffee followed with turkey and ham dinner under the 1890 Huber's clock in the bar. After these many years it is... More

This restaurant, Portland's oldest, specializes in traditional dinners, with the house specialties being roast turkey and baked ham. My wife and I both ordered the turkey, and it was good, but we were halfway through the meal before we realized that we had never received the special beer bread that was supposed to be served first. (We heard some folks... More

Having moved to Portland less then a year ago the quintessential Spanish coffee is new to me. But I quickly fell in love with it'. And the very best place to enjoy this hot boozy pick me up is at Huber's. You must sit at their old fashioned polished wood bar and watch the bartenders magic. The finesse and skill... More

Huber's is one of Portland's oldest restaurants, so I had to try it. Service was a bit off, but the food was good. It's a warm and cozy place good for a cold day, as is the food. They're known for their turkey, and I got their turkey meal for lunch. There was plenty of food and it was good.... More

We wandered in and had an enjoyable lunch. Service was great, ambiance was charming and food was of great quality for the price. A lot of turkey on the menu, but several options for those having a different palate. Worth a trip in.

Love Huber's. I'm a Portland native and have been coming here since I turned 21 in the 70's. Comfort food can be found in the well-known turkey and potato entrees. The Spanish coffees are great, but there is a full bar.
