go before you are hungry as the wait will be long

when i walked in, i was told that the wait is so long, they were no longer taking names. it was a cloudy day and had been drizzly earlier, hence the outdoor tables were free. i suggested outdoor seating and i was told if it rained, i would not get a seating indoors. i decided to brave it and... read more

Love this breakfast spot. You know place is great when there's an hour and a half wait every day. The bar next-door is part of the restaurant where you can have mimosas and a muffin while you wait. Food is excellent and all locally sourced. They do not use any hydrogenated oils to cook with. Presentation is great most dishes... More

Broder's has a problem. But it's not the food, which is unique, exquisitely-prepared, amazingly-tasty, and very well priced. Broder's problem is that it's way, way too popular for its size, and simply has not learned to scale up its operations. We've been there twice, both times waiting in the bar next door for 45 minutes, where Broder's luckily has an... More

My friends and I ventured here for brunch on a Sunday. The wait was an hour and a half, but you were able to sit in the pub next door and have coffee or order drinks while waiting. Everywhere else of course had long waits so we decided to stay. I am so glad we did. My friend got the... More

Who knew that Swedish Breakfast could be this outstanding! This is a top 5 restaurant for Breakfast for my wife and I. The "Lost Eggs" are a favorite of my wifes, I am still trying to find a favorite, every time I try something new, THAT becomes my favorite. The seasonal fritters are fantastic, the Unnipurro (finish oven porridge) is... More

This is a gem of a place. We went for breakfast, I had the lost egg and potato pancake and my friend had the smoked trout hash, all three were tasty though the potato pancake was a little greasy. We had a short wait for the table (15 minutes) and the service was quick. The food takes a little while,... More

Fabulous place for brunch! We had the aebleskivers for a special treat -a taste of Scandinavia-served with lemon curd and lingonberry sauce. The Farmer's Breakfast Sandwich was an amazing blend of flavors. On a Saturday morning, we had to wait for a table, but spent the time in the adjoining place next door where we ordered coffee, juice, and pastries... More

It was worth the 40 minute wait to eat at Broder when I last visited Portland. The cuisine is totally off-the-beaten-path and not food you'll find in most brunch/lunch restaurants in the U.S. (except perhaps in Minnesota, where Scandinavia is very much alive and well), and the ambience is unmistakably Portlandesque. Well-priced, to boot, and super friendly service.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Definitely a different than your run of the mill restaurant. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and a great selection of delicious food. Our group of 3 had the aebelskeiver, thick cut toast and the Swedish Hash (with butternut squash and brussel sprouts). I cannot pick a favorite - they were all very different and excellent!... More

This delicious little restaurant is in a quaint neighborhood in SE Portland. We wanted to try everything on the menu, but I knew I had to try the Lefse (Norwegian potato crepes), a Scandinavian specialty. This dish was amazing, square thin crepes with layers in between of arugula pesto, bacon, horseradish and a perfectly cooked egg on top. My daughter... More
