A Great Neighborhood Breakfast Place

It was so good we had to eat there twice. Everything was excellent. The coffee would have sold me on the place but the food pushed me over the top.

Cramped seating? Check. Efficient but too-busy-to-be-chatty wait staff? Check. No air circulation at the back tables? Check. But the food. Aaah, the food. The most delicious and atypical breakfast in Portland. Worth the inevitable wait.

Went during the weekday for lunch, and had to wait about twenty minutes, which was fine. It's a narrow restaurant, though, so many table are lined up right next to one another. I tend to like more space between our table and the ones around us. Some guy stood over us chatting with friends, rendering conversation impossible for a while,... More

We waited nearly an hour to get a table at this tiny restaurant for Brunch on Father's Day, but the wait was pleasant because there were picnic tables outside where we could sit, watch the passersby and sip the absolutely fantastic Aquavit Danish Marys. When we were finally seated the service was quick and efficient. We sampled the Swedish Hash,... More

Three of us had lunch here and the menus was so interesting and different we ordered six things on the menu, and the menu is small! Every one of the dishes was delicious, except the pastry plate, a selection of various muffins and cookies. This was a real disappointment. Everything else was really good, different than all the other restaurants.... More

This place is pretty small. We went soon after opening and there was no line. We had a toddler and it was kid friendly. The aebelskivers (Danish pancakes) are good and fun to share. The egg dishes were also tasty and the coffee was fresh and strong. Service was good and prices were on the high end of reasonable.

I've been to Portland twice in the last year and have been to Broder for breakfast both times. We get there early on Sunday morning and beat the crowds. It's worth getting up early for. I love the baked eggs, just the consistency I like for eggs and the bacon is excellent. I really want to try the Lost Eggs next... More

We stopped by For breakfast at Broder. The place is in a residential area. Small but nicely appointed bar and restaurant combo. The food is cooked to order within sight. I had the Farmers cheese with peas egg scramble. It was very tasty. The pastries and potato pancake was good as well. Service was good. An excellent pace to stop... More

when i walked in, i was told that the wait is so long, they were no longer taking names. it was a cloudy day and had been drizzly earlier, hence the outdoor tables were free. i suggested outdoor seating and i was told if it rained, i would not get a seating indoors. i decided to brave it and yes,...
