This place has amazing food. The waitress was very friendly and took the time out to provide us with insights on the city. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the three cheese grilled cheese and it was too die for. The prices are reasonable

I always get a wonderfully different version of traditional comfort foods delivered with panache and a twist by a quirky staffer who knows just what to do to make the meal a memorable experience. The restaurant is right in the heart of things and convenient to parking, shopping, library browsing. And the prices are easy to swallow,

We went for an early dinner & caught the happy hour prices, yay for us! Two cheeseburgers with the best homemade french fries & a couple of beers for $20!! You can't beat that! I love how nostalgic this old place is, the food is always great and so is the service. A fun piece of Portland history that you... More

Wouldn't serve me based on the fact that we hadn't tipped enough the previous visit. We aren't from around here and weren't aware of that a large tip was expected at a bar. A polite word and I would have happily given an extra tip to make up for it but instead rudely chucked us out like we were scum.

our tradition is to come here twice during the holidays. the first involves a drink/lunch, then to the jellybean to pick up naughty cards. the 2nd is for tuba xmas next week. we began with a bottle of pbr, and a hot buttered rum. it was frigid outside, and needed some warmth. next, i had the hot veggie melt sandwich... This year is the 100th. year annv. The place is funky, there are old booths, tables and a nice bar. You would not know it by looking at it but the food is all home made and darn good, some of the very best chicken noodle soup I have ever had, not to mention the onion rings and fresh french... More

Had a lousiana style burger but it tasted like it was covered in pepper. Fries were also extremely salty as well.

A hotel clerk recommended this place for happy hour and drinks. She said the outside was "a little funky," which is probably why we have steered away from it before. But walk inside, and it is a pub from an earlier era, still well maintained, but not over-polished. The wait people were friendly and attentive, and the appetizers very good,... More

This has been a downtown Portland favorite of mine for years, but has become a traditional end-up spot for my wife and I after finishing the Shamrock Run every St. Patrick's Day weekend. We were there this time around at about 11:30am after the run and were looking forward to the friendly staff and the home-style cooking in the historical... More

we have been coming here for years, and leah, the mgr/server always remembers us. she is the epidemy of customer service, funny, efficient, and engaging. we began with a hybrid lemon toddy, and a hot buttered rum. it was pouring outside, and we're cyclists, so the drinks warmed us up. next, we ordered the veggie melt on whole wheat and...
