Very cool place, sometimes the long wait in lines can be maddening but when you get inside and asked if you would like to get a sample (or many samples) you understand why the long wait in line, I've never seen so many different ways to make ice cream, and the fresh made waffle cones are to die for, best... Skip dessert and come here for their artisanal and wonderful selection of ice cream. I had the strawberry with balsamic reduction and black pepper with the olive oil ice cream. It was a wonderful combination. My daughter had the salted caramel and it was the most balanced in salt and sweet I have ever tasted.

Normally, my wife and don't like waiting on line BUT we did so 3 out of the 4 nights that we were in Portland. The freshest, most exotic fusion of ice cream flavors that you will ever TASTE. The name is still puzzling to us but the flavors overcome it.

Such a fun ice cream shop! Friendly staff, happy to let you sample! My favorite is the chocolate brownie and the vanilla with salted caramel in a waffle cone...

The people standing in line tell you this place must be good. It was good. They give you samples of your choice while you wait. I had the Strawberry, balsamic and black pepper and-the pepper and balsamic offset the sweetness of the strawberry My sis had the brownie and I've never seen her east ice cream that fast. The line... Salt and Straw is definitely worth your time, especially for ice cream aficionados! I visited in January on a business trip, and boy, was I happy I did! I posted a photo of their flavors listed when I visited, and you can see the variety: Pear w/Blue Cheese; Honey Lavender; Cinnamon Snickerdoodle -- the list goes on! I had a... More

If you're open to experimenting with creative ice cream flavors, this is THE place. We usually go as a family group after dinner, everyone gets something different, and we all share tastes (in addition to asking for tastes, or ordering a sampler). The flavors are always changing, which is part of the fun of it. I loved the sweet potato... More

Worthy of its spot on trip advisor! You won't be disappointed, worth the long lines! Gone are the days for 25 cent ice-creams but worth ever cent

We went here two nights in a row and would have gone a third if we were in town! It is worth the line up wait, which goes by quickly. The staff are knowledgeable about all the different flavours and are more than happy to let you try flavours. The atmostphere is fun and the decor is great. Salt &... More

Once again, go during off times or the line will be out the door and down the street! This is not your vanilla/chocolate/strawberry kind of place, nor is it 31 Flavors. They have about a dozen or so flavors and each one is very unique. If you go during an off time, you can sample any and all of them... More
