As amazing as all the other reviews state! Tried a few flavors before ordering with help from the hostess who was great BTW! Got the almond brittle, coconut, and lavender vanilla which my two year old devoured. Only two problems were the parking was horrible so plan to walk a few blocks or drive in circles for a while and... More

One of the more unique places for ice cream. This is a place we take first time visitors to the Portland area as it's an institution. Be sure to take advantage of tasting the different flavors before you buy. Expect long waits on weekends.

My friends who live in Portland took me here and WOW!!! We came after dinner, quite late about 10.30pm and there was no queue. I loved the ice cream so much that I went back the next day to get more. Sea salt and caramel was my favourite but I also loved Olive Oil. Now I'm back in London I... More

Very original flavors, both seasonal and everyday varieties. They have very helpful and friendly servers.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon we waited about 20 minutes in line. We didn't mind. If you're in a hurry, don't go, or: pro tip, you can skip the line if you buy a pint from the freezer. When you get close to the counter, you'll be offered a taste, and if you're nice, you might get two or three.... More

The flavors are great and unique. A must in Portland! The line can be long though. Be careful when you are new in the area. Hard to find parking. I prefer to park way up the hill and I can get in and out of NW 23rd easily.

First off, of course if you go on a hot summer's day you're going to wait in line. But our first time was during the Division Street Fair and while there was a short line, it took us awhile to get close to a decision on what we wanted anyway. Also, the staff is very accommodating - very willing to... More

Visited here via recommendation and had to wait in line for a while, but it was totally worth the wait! We were surrounded by happy chatter from other customers-to-be and waited probably a total of 20 minutes. By the time we made it up to the counter, there were employees waiting to give us samples of their unique ice cream... More

I am an old fashioned ice cream lover. Salt and Straw is for the next generation of ice cream experimenters. There are lines outside of each of their stores, attesting to the popularity of something I can only call "the new ice cream." It is clear that the products are made with fine ingredients, but it is difficult to find... More

Am I just not as adventurous as others?....probably. But I'm not sorry about the delicious scoop of vanilla ice cream. Possibly the best I've ever had. My sister-in-law and I apparently chose the perfect time to go, as the line was super short. By the time we got to the counter, though, the line was out the door and around... More
