I am always intrigued when on TripAdvisor the number one rated restaurant for a city is an ice-cream place. Especially in an awesome food city such as Portland. We were staying by Pioneer Square so it was about a 1.3 mile walk. We combined it with a side visit to Washington Park. I like how the servers meet you in... More

Went on Saturday and Sunday night and the line was over a hundred people deep. After tasting the ice cream it is definitely worth the wait! The staff is extremely friendly and let us sample as many flavors as we wanted. The sea salt w/ caramel was my favorite, closely followed by cinnamon snickerdoodle. I will be visiting again on... One of the spots on our list. Salt & Straw had some interesting combinations, but I had to try the Lavender Honey. AMAZING! Best ice-cream EVER. If there is a line, stay, it's worth the wait.

$7 for a huge two scoop waffle cone - I did not think this was overpriced at all but then again this may be that I'm from England so this was only about £4. Staff were friendly offering as many tasters as you want. They were fast to serve and despite there being a huge queue, we barely waited any... More

Lots of weird flavors; many which people say work. Free samples to taste the strangeness. Small, overpriced portions. Some folks swear by it. Make mine Tillamook or Umpqua...

Amazing service right when you walk in and they're happy to give you several samples of the various flavors. I ordered the honey lavender and olive oil and it was a superb pairing. They make their own waffle cones and the shop smells amazing. A must stop on a hot or any day!

I am not usually the most adventurous when it comes to ice cream. I usually stick with the common PB, Chocolate, fruit/sherbet flavors. However, since it is Salt and Straw and they are known for their crazy takes on ice cream, I decided to go for their limited Market run and get bone marrow and smoked cherries. It didn't taste... First off, while I don't normally rate Michelin-rated places I eat, given that everyone already knows they're amazing, Salt & Straw is to-die-for, and I thought it worth chiming in. Yes, there's a wait. Figure 15 minutes of excitement-building anticipation if you head over for dessert. There's a wait at Disneyland too, and that doesn't seem to have hindered their... More

Okay, you have to understand, I'm not an Ice cream guy. Normally, I forgo the ice cream but after the build up from my son, I thought I'd give it a shot. We went to the Salt and Straw on Division Street in SE Portland. We thought we'd try it since it was our last day in Portland and we... More

The ice cream was good, but very crowded, hardly any place to sit, not a parking friendly neighborhood. I've had much better ice cream in other places. I agree with the other reviewer, not worth it.
