FUN FUN FUN to be had trying the different flavors! We were walking by and happened to see people eating ice cream as they passed us. We stopped in, and after looking over the menu board, were actually able to get to the counter rather quickly (I've read that sometimes there is a wait, for us there wasn't). When at... More

I really enjoy small batch ice cream and was looking forward to this place based on the reviews. Overall, I'm disappointed. The ice cream was good, but not fantastic. I thought the flavours I tried were much sweeter than they needed to be, and not very well balanced. The sea salt caramel ribbon was both too salty and too sweet,... More

The sampling of desserts are not to be missed here. They sell other stuff, but I hardly noticed. I gravitated to the counter for the sweets, and they don't disappoint.

The line going from inside the ice cream parlor to around the corner of the street tells you that this is popular place which is deff worth trying. The Flavors are great with olive oil, sea salt, vinegar, wood, black pepper etc.

I 1st tried Salt & Straw last year (different location) and highly anticipated sampling another flight (a "flight" is 4 scoops of ice cream). Before the week was up I had sampled 3! I enjoyed the Thanksgiving Special flavors: Sweet potato casserole w/maple pecans, Salted caramel Thanksgiving Turkey, Spiced Chevre Pumpkin Pie, & Honey Bourbon Corn Pudding. My favorite was... Yes they have a lot of flavours, but they are not amazing flavours, there are a lot of places that serve ice cream I would say they are all just as good. Waiting in a line for ice cream that you can get at any place is not worth it.

Our experience with Salt and Straw was awesome. Our daughter is a student at PSU and each time we visit we make it a point to go and have some exotic flavor. The holiday flavors are great.

Creamy ice cream! Lots of amazing flavors!! Well worth the stop! I played it safe with gooey chocolate brownie. My husband got the blue cheese and liked it as well.

Yes, really, and unbelievably good. After several tastings offered by the wonderfully friendly ice cream seller., I settled on a fine pairing of pear with blue cheese and honey lavender. It was a nice way to end our last evening in Portland....very crowded. I was treated to dessert, so can't speak to cost, but know it must be pricey.
