Loved it!

Can't say enough good things about this small, quaint French bistro.Walked in at 11:50 just to make sure I'd get a seat for lunch. Sat at the great copper looking bar. Great bar tender, had good conversations from A to Z. Had the foie gras - was average, the shrimp po' boy which was awesome! (But... read more

I was here with some out of town friends. The ambiance is perfect for friends or lovers. The indoor loft seating is reminiscent of a Paris street cafe. I had the crepes. Delectable. And the white wine Belle oseo reminded me of wines I enjoyed in the Alsace region of France. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. I highly... More

Found Little Bird on one of the many lists of best restaurants in Portland. It did not disappoint. Dinner for two on a Saturday evening, visiting from San Francisco, BTW. Started with oysters. Fresh, briny and with two great sauces. Perfect complement to a crisp chardonnay and a cocktail. We asked the server to go through every item on the... More

The seared foie gras "Montreal" brought tears to my eyes. Crisp top and succulent underpinning crunched and melted in my mouth at the same time. I don't think that's physically possible, but there it was. Flavor that caused embarrassing "ummmmm" sounds to emanate with every bite. Some say not to reward yourself with food. I say hogwash. Come here and... More

I was really excited to eat lunch at Little Bird during a recent visit to Portland. Family members had recommended it as a nice spot with good French inspired food, but our experience wasn't so great. The menu the day we went was a bit strange, with neither of us really excited about any of the items. One of us... More

This restaurant was recommended by a local, and she did not steer our group wrong. The best way to try several different items on the menu is to order the Charcuterie board. It had everything on it from Pig's Ear to Paté. Loved all the mini tastings. Most of the table ordered the Coq au Vin to good reviews. I... More

The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was cozy, warm & very inviting. The intimate space was perfect for a business lunch. The portion size was great & left you feeling full with out being overly stuffed. The fresh bread and coffee were also delicious. I can't wait to go back. Tables book quickly, so be sure to make a... We enjoyed our dinner at Little Bird. Everything was good quality and the service was good. This said, nothing really blew us away in terms of quality or innovation. A good meal, but not extraordinary.

Following the success of Le Pigeon, owner chef Gabe Rucker opened Little Bird. I had a couple of meals here over the years and thought it was good but not great. A couple of nights ago my wife and I tried it again and it was wonderful. Gabe is splitting his time between Le Pigeon and Little Bird now that... More
