Greatly ballyhooed in the press, we went with European visitors for the first time. We waited some time for a server to come, not a good beginning. Menu is interesting, food well-prepared, but not as fantastic as some of the critics think! It's very good, not exceptional, and is priced like the latter. Incredibly overpriced wine list, with many $25... More

We stumbled on this little bistro two years ago and loved it. Funky atmosphere, excellent food and friendly service. Just a block off Broadway, downtown.

While attending a conference in Portland, I had the chance to visit many restaurants. We stopped by Little Bird early one evening and were thrilled by both the atmosphere and the food. I have not eaten in many French restaurants so my range of comparison is limited. However, this was one of the best meals we had in Portland which... More

I'm a fan of Le Pigeon so when I saw that we could eat dinner at Little Bird (and that it was on the west side where we were staying) I was sold. Everything was so delicious here and the server was super friendly. We all left very satisfied. * Scallop (grilled corn, rock shrimp, avocado, chili) * Sheep Cheese... More

The highlight of the meal was the quality of the oysters which were from Washington and Oregon. They equaled the best and were perfectly opened. The menu is very French and we were very happy with everything we tried. We washed it down with the less expensive Muscadet and it was excellent. The service was efficient and friendly. The atmosphere... More

This tiny space is somewhat difficult to find on a dark night since the signage is small and unlit but once found, it's not to be forgotten. Little Bird truly is reminiscent of a French bistro. The space is small, tables are close together, and the menu is upscale comfort food. The menu here is small but offers something for... More

We dined at their sister restaurant a few nights before and enjoyed it so much we had to try the slightly more casual & traditionally French "Little Bird". Food was spot on, with a good variety and classic, yet exciting flavors. Everything tasted like the best home cooked meal you've ever had, if your home was in the south of... More

I saw this place as I walked by it on the first day of my Portland visit, and got a reservation for the next day. The room is very pretty, rustic with an upstairs balcony where I was seated. The staff was great at recommending both food and wine pairings. I had the goat cheese gnocchi to start, which was... More

I ate here with a client recently and it was a lovely experience. They sat us right away and brought our drinks immediately while we waited for the whole party to show up. The food was excellent, but be advised that it can be a bit heavy. The salad I had was fresh and the main course was served hot.... More

I've been hearing about it for years, but just got to this charmer - at last! The atmosphere is welcoming - almost old-world, with understated decor and an upstairs balcony. My companion and I both fell for the Prix Fixe menu ($25 for a choice of starters, chef's special and any dessert). She had butter lettuce served on a bed... More
