What's not to like here? The best roasted chicken we have ever eaten, good wine list, perfect service in an interesting neighborhood on the North side of Portland. Many other great restarants in the neighborhood. Front room is not air conditioned, but surprisingly, we were not uncomfortable in... read more

We came here for a change-up from our tradition "Anniversary Dinner" place, and fell in love with the food, cocktails and Staff! Three years of dinners and we feel like family! Kat and Mischa constantly make us smile with unexpected flavor combinations and new twists on old favorites I.e. A beet pesto recently accompanied crispy sweet breads. Chadwick the Barman... More

We went to Cocotte for our anniversary. We had all three courses with my wife enjoying the liver pate. I enjoyed a cold soup for the second course (it was a hot day) and then overhydrated by having another soup from the sea for the entree. (The line to the bano wasn't tooo long.) Overall, we enjoyed our time at... More

Visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. Cozy space and a bit out of the way. First the positives: The presentation of the food was beautiful Each dish was like a work of art. Some of our dishes were very tasty. Unusual ingredients but they worked! The beet salad was very good as was the chicken liver mousse.... More

Cocotte was advertised locally as being a "French Restaurant" but was overall a very disappointing experience. As our waiter explained; "We are a Paris inspired restaurant, but VERY Portland in how we present it". We have been in the "real" Paris recently and one would be hard pressed to find food like this in the City of Lights. The place... More

Located next to Beast, east of the city, we decided to explore Cocotte for an early Sunday dinner. I was very disappointed with the whole experience. Service was rushed and non-attentive. The food was nothing special for Portland's culinary prowess. I had the escargot special. Tastes were good, but the escargots were tough. My mussels were okay. The Absinthe Cake... More

I loved this place. I also love Trip Advisor. So, since I am a native Portlander and have just discovered this little gem, I felt my fellow travelers should get the 4-1-1. I went out to dinner Saturday night with some friends to Cocotte, and had a seriously fantastic meal. Everything was delicious, and the service was great. It's a... More

We met friends for dinner having asked them to show us a good French place. It's a little off the beaten path in North Portland and is pretty tiny. We were seated for our reservation and our server was very attentive and helpful. The menu is a bit on the limited side, but they do offer frogs legs, chicken liver... More

I have to say: charming place, great wine list and really great menu.the Lapin terrine and liver pate are great as appetizers to share and the signature chicken cocotte is one of the tastiest chicken I had in a long time. Keep space for the Macaron and the Rhubarb Tart !

We recently shared an evening with our business group - 12 in all. This is a cozy cafe with a good bar. Our group ate in the back room, which was quiet and private. Our waitress was fairly good and attentive although sometimes we had to wait. I think she was the only one working tables. There was also a... More
