Pearl's is a popular lunch spot a block away from Powell's Book Store. It has interesting sandwiches, great fresh pastries and good coffee, and friendly staff.

This is good stuff, maybe the best in town. Traditional baked goods with a french slant, sandwiches and salads for lunch, and house-made fine chocolates were recently added to the menu. Plus, the Pearl serves Batdorf & Bronson Coffee, which is outstanding (I've always wished it was home-based in Portland so it would be more available). Seems as if the... More

Pearl Bakery is close, convenient, well-stocked with all sorts of breakfast pastries and goodies, and has helpful and patient counter servers and baristas. They serve gluten-free and seem to care about it. Coffee (in all sorts of sizes, shapes, colors, and combinations) is readily available. Seating inside can be at a premium, but it is worth the wait to nosh... More

Heard this bakery was amazing and had to check it out myself! Stopped for coffee and a pastry! Oh my gosh the chocolate croissants were so good! People next to us ordered sandwich's which also looked amazing! Take some time in the afternoon to stop by here, relax, and have a treat! Definitely worth it!

Happened upon this bakery whilst walking around the Pearl District and it's a gem if you like artisan breads. Definitely worth a visit for the sandwiches and croissants.

We went there for breakfast and oh it was so good. When you enter the bakery you get taken away by the design and then you see all those delicious treats which makes it difficult to choose from. The staff is friendly, the coffee good, the prices low and the baked treats are just delicious. We had keizers rolls and... More

Pearl Baker in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon, is a cute corner bakery that is definitely worth a visit! The baked goods there are absolutely delicious!!!!!!!....and so is their coffee and their sandwiches. The sandwiches are on rustic bread or whatever you choose and are delicious. It's easy to get to on the MAX Line, which pretty much takes... More

After checking out Powell's Bookstore, we walked over to Pearl Bakery a few blocks away. I had the rosemary shortbread cookie and it was delicious! Not too sweet, and melt in your mouth rich. My husband got the fig bar which was like a giant, homemade fig newton, and also wonderful. There is an extensive coffee and tea menu too.... More

Stopped in here for a quick bite and a latte en route to some meetings. The croissants we had were ok, but not great. A pain au chocolat should have more chocolate in it and the same was true of the almond croissant. The latte was pretty good, but not great. It was typical of lattes at independent coffee shops... I had the cheddar, apple sandwich with a walnut spread. It was sooo good that I wrote to the bakery to get the recipe and they emailed it to me right away! I am bummed that this bakery is so far away, as I would eat here everyday and have bread for breakfast lunch and dinner. AWESOME bakery, everything we... More
