Went with a group after work. Very average meal, but I was the only vegetarian in the group. If you are a vegetarian you really should look elsewhere - the salad was underwhelming and the appetizers I had were tasteless (dumplings). Best thing I ate that night was the pretzel roll. Even the Almond Cake with Blueberries was disappointing.

Great food and a good drink selection; outdoor seating is available. The sausage is excellent and so was the spaetzle.

You simply can't go wrong with the staples such as the tarte flambee, the 'Gruner' salad, the smashed fried fingerling potatoes and the choucroute garnie. These are fabulous tasting dishes. You had better have a reservation. This was so relaxing - nice intimate atmosphere. We had reservations very early and when we arrived I bet there was less than 10% of the tables occupied - I had an uh oh moment thinking that this might not turn out so well. WOW was I mistaken. German/Swiss/European fusion, call it what you want -- it's delicious! Fresh flavors, great service and a nice wine list, make it an excellent spot for dinner.

Putting a contemporary spin on Germanic/ Austrian/Swiss food is a challenge that Gruner meets well. The stylish, modern decor sets the mood and the food is excellent, starting with appetizers of lightly friend polenta wrapped around melting raclette (sp?), salad, and delicate herbed dumplings, followed by trout in an ambrosial cream sauce.
