The six of us came here for dim sum yesterday (Sunday) after bringing just our two grandchildren the Sunday before that made an interesting comparison. Last week we got to HK Cafe at 12:30 p.m., were told there would be a twenty minute wait, so we strolled down to the Dollar Store and let the kids pick out a treat... More

I love dim sum. I used to enjoy it in Chicago's Chinatown in the 70's and San Francisco's Chinatown in the 80-90's. Now I am back in an area that to my delight has exceptional dim sum. My two most favored dishes at HK are the Shanghai dumpling; delicate wheat noodle encasing seasoned pork enhanced with a molten surprise of... More

Like: Terrific Dim Sum. Not only the usual Har Gow and Shu Mai; but everything. Did not have a bad or average dish. Dislike: You need to get there before 11:15 am if you don't want to wait in line.

I love Asian food, especially dim sum, which I've eaten in Hong Kong, NYC, Toronto, Dallas, Seattle, Vancouver (BC), Chicago, SF, Portland, and elsewhere. After dining at HK Café with 11 friends the other day I'm ranking it my new #1 in the PNW. Atmosphere: spacious, bright, clean (which is sometimes difficult to find at dim sum restaurants). The restaurant... More

This place seems to be the best dim sum currently in the Portland area. The service was good. The individual pieces were large which is what you get outside of SF or Asia. The only bad dish we had was the sesame balls. Don't expect world class dim sum here with a huge variety of dishes. However this is a... More

Qt ride the HK Cafe at a friends urging , we had a very good lunch! The place is very very busy so come early or be prepared to wait. Do I live Dim Sum , so so , but if your friend is buying , it's good!

I've been a regular for a few years, I use to go to KIng's Cafe for the best dim sum in town. But they let things go and now it's just a bit spendy for less justification. So I switched to HK which was inexpensive and quite good. The last couple of times though and they seem to be going... More

From reading previous reviews I see that the dim sum sounds very good. I ate a combination dinner here on 12-28-13, and it was bad. It was extremely greasy, too salty, and lacking in subtlety. Altho I took the leftovers home, I threw them in the garbage and could not consider eating them again. From my experience, I'm guessing that... More

It took a bit to find the HK - it's in a corner of a large strip mall. So worth the hunt. This is amazing dim sum, better than anywhere else in Portland. This is our new favorite dim sum after being faithful to our other, older place(s) for 15+ years in Portland. Not one single dish has disappointed. In... More

We had 12 people for dinner today, and one came later, each of us ordered one dish from their special menu, we had a feast! all dinner came with free soup, and sweets after. Every special dish is under $9.00. Weekend is very busy, had to wait most of the time. I Love the dim-sum lunches, the carts comes around... More
