Tucked away on a narrow street in the historic Calumet building in the heart of downtown, this rustic-refined French-American gastro-pub evokes the feel of Paris while being quintessentially Portland. In the heart of downtown, the Brasserie is a place to wind up or wind down. It's a perfect venue for date nights, business lunches, relaxing after work, on-the-town dining, or a post-shopping retreat. Private dining suitable for intimate fêtes or more boisterous affairs. This local brasserie elicits the true essence and spirit of the word “Montmartre,” defined literally as the highest point in Paris, and now figuratively as a perfectly French-American respite for food, drink and conviviality.

Perfect Environment, Food, and Cocktails!!

We found this place as it was near our hotel. The food is not cheap, but the quality is high we all enjoyed our meals. The staff was very friendly. This is not a place to go and rush thru your meal; instead enjoy a great meal and your company we also enjoyed some live music.

Start with the very friendly staff. They get an A+ The drinks: try a French Goose- not too sweet, just enough. The Bread!!!! Was so warm and soft. We ordered the oysters and ahi. A+ on both. The Ahi was so cool, presented on a Himalayan salt block rubbed with chili oil. We ordered the Kobe burger and baked shellfish.... More

I lived in Portland in the '70s. Walking around, I found Brasserie and remembered how I felt the restaurant was out of my reach in my salad days. I went in, ordered liberally from the happy hour menu, made some crayon art on the paper tablecover and enjoyed every moment. The small plates were flavorful, made with care and kindly... More

We stopped in for lunch, so well worth it. Ordered the burger, honey brined turkey and a side of Brussels Sprouts. All were delicious, great flavor, combinations of items, and presentation. Service was wonderful.

Happy hour food and drink are excellent. Service is very good. Location is central and atmosphere wonderful. Plus, if you stay a bit later, the music is superb jazz! We even danced!

My mom, aunt, sister and I have been coming here once a year for close to twenty years to celebrate my birthday while we enjoy a shopping day downtown. We have always had a great experience but this year it was the worst service we have ever experienced. The drinks are overpriced for what you get. We have always enjoyed... More

We stopped in for a glass of wine and some appetizers on a cold afternoon. The wait staff was very friendly and allowed us to have a relaxing hour of socializing. The daily cheese plate went along well with drinks. BE sure to take a few minutes to view the artwork on the walls.

The wife and I have been coming here before we were married in 1986... It fell off our radar due to work, children and life! We quite by accident stopped by again a few months ago and were beyond pleased with everything... So when my son flew in from San Francisco last night... This was our first choice! When we... More

Service was prompt (perhaps too much so - we were still enjoying our martinis when the salads appeared!) The prix fixe at $35 per person was good value, with well-prepared dishes. The restaurant has live music some evenings, but the dining room at the back gives you the best of both worlds. This was my second visit - each time... More
