Tucked away on a narrow street in the historic Calumet building in the heart of downtown, this rustic-refined French-American gastro-pub evokes the feel of Paris while being quintessentially Portland. In the heart of downtown, the Brasserie is a place to wind up or wind down. It's a perfect venue for date nights, business lunches, relaxing after work, on-the-town dining, or a post-shopping retreat. Private dining suitable for intimate fêtes or more boisterous affairs. This local brasserie elicits the true essence and spirit of the word “Montmartre,” defined literally as the highest point in Paris, and now figuratively as a perfectly French-American respite for food, drink and conviviality.

Lovely atmosphere, outstanding service.

The Brasserie Montmartre is a lovely restaurant in the Pioneer District. The atmosphere made me feel as if I was in Paris, the food less so. Amazingly steak frites, a standard in any french brasserie has been taken off the menu here. The only option was a somewhat pricey ribeye steak. The... read more

I had lunch with a friend shortly after it opened and although they didn't have the onion soup I wanted that day they had potato soup which was flavored perfectly. I had a Cobb salad and it was well prepared. The dressing was Tarragon (I think). It was subtle and didn't overpower the meal. It's a bit expensive but overall... More

I have to say...this is one of my favorite places for the ambience. When I step into this restaurant, I immediately feel like I have just arrived in Paris. Such a cute restaurant with a European feel. The coffee is amazing...instead of bread they give you a fresh fruit plate with a slice of carrot cake while u wait for... More

We tried Montmatre during the Oregon Symphony's 2013-2014 season and was delighted with the experience. However, there has been a change in the menu for this year's season. It has been shortened and several of our favorites are no longer on it. While the soups, entrees, and desserts are still wonderful, the service is not as good as it was... More

I was dining alone while on a business trip and stumbled upon this place. I had a nice, quiet dinner and the food was first rate. I had a polite server who made appt pirate recommendations for wine. Upon tasting the first sip, I thought it was a not up to par, but wasn't going to say anything. The server... More

Had a 7pm reservation on Friday. Arrived and were seated promptly. Friendly, knowledgable server brought us wine, advised about the specials and remained available as we reviewed the menu. Unlike some brasseries their menu is relatively short and nicely focused. After we ordered there was a slight glitch --special not available---and we were very impressed with how the management team... More

Stayed at the Paramount Hotel and found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. The hotel concierge endorsed the selection and we walked the 5 minutes from the hotel. A touch of Euro in Portland. Brandon, our waiter, was extremely helpful in making recommendations and explaining the nuances of the dishes and specials. Eclectic menu and good selection of wines by the... More

We enjoyed ourselves so much in our weekend in Portland that we went stopped by twice. The environment, food, and cocktails were superb! We were also impressed with the attentiveness of the bartender/waitress, even though she had numerous tables and patrons to attend to by herself; I don't remember her name, but she had blue in her hair and a... We found this place as it was near our hotel. The food is not cheap, but the quality is high we all enjoyed our meals. The staff was very friendly. This is not a place to go and rush thru your meal; instead enjoy a great meal and your company we also enjoyed some live music.

Start with the very friendly staff. They get an A+ The drinks: try a French Goose- not too sweet, just enough. The Bread!!!! Was so warm and soft. We ordered the oysters and ahi. A+ on both. The Ahi was so cool, presented on a Himalayan salt block rubbed with chili oil. We ordered the Kobe burger and baked shellfish.... More
