Great Ambience

This is a great restaurant for seafood as well as meat dishes. I went with friends. One ordered the steak; his wife ordered lamb. They both loved their choices. I chose the petrale sole. It was well prepared. The sides were not as wonderful, but not awful. We started with appetizers, fries... read more

On our annual trip to Portland to visit our daughter, my wife and I wanted to eat at a seafood restaurant. After looking at reviews on TripAdvisor we decided to go to Cabezon. It is a little ways from downtown but it didn't take too long to get there. My wife ordered the salmon special and I ordered the black... More

I am on the lookout for some good cioppino in Portland. I was told to try Cabezon's Cioppino and I was not disappointed. The base had a great flavor and the fish was fresh tasting. The only thing I would recommend is adding more of the cripsy bread; Cioppino to me is all about dipping the bread in the soup... More

You know when you arrive a little ahead opening time and folks are lined up for the door to open, that this is a popular place to dine. It was that we have not eating here on festive days, but it confirmed others agreed with our choice. From the start to finish the service was right on. We had the... More

After driving by for years, decided to finally stop in for dinner. Didn't have a reservation, but they found us a table on a Friday night. I knew it was a seafood place before visiting (but I am not a big seafood lover). I noticed other review sites mentioned "something for everybody on the menu", but I would say it... More

Enjoyed a light supper with a friend here. We started with two excellent cocktails. One of these included Strega, shaken with egg whites and a few other ingredients, and this was one of the most interesting palate experiences I have ever had. The basil-wrapped jumbo shrimp was so perfect we had to make ourselves order something different for the entree.... More

This is a busy local place with good food. We were seated quickly but initial drink service was remarkably slow.

First, you need reservations. Second, it is a little out of central Portland, but well worth the drive. We were there last year and really enjoyed the meal so went back. Go for the seafood. Spouse loves the mussels; I love the halibut- cleaned the plate. Very good wine list of mostly Oregon wines.

Cabezon had been recommended to me by a Portland native and I was not disappointed. The seafood dishes are fantastic.....fresh, great tasting, inventively sauced. I enjoyed a delightful seafood salad appetizer followed by a great tasting sea bass entree. Of course, there are wonderful Oregon wines to pair with the food. My waitperson, Jill, was knowledgeable and exceedingly helpful. Finally,... More
