Description: At the gates of the historic Laurelhurst neighborhood and just 3 minutes...
At the gates of the historic Laurelhurst neighborhood and just 3 minutes from downtown, Laurelhurst Market offers a uniquely Portland steakhouse experience. Drawing off our own in-house butcher shop, our seasonal menu focuses on sustainably raised meats highlighted by several cuts not common to the traditional steakhouse. Awarded one of Bon Appetit Best New Restaurants in America in 2010, we have been at the forfront of Portland's growing dining scene. We feature a full service bar with an extensive craft cocktail menu. Our convivial atmosphere is appropriate for both special occasions and families. Outdoor seating is available when Mother Nature cooperates.

Great meal but lengthy wait between courses

We had a similarly positive experience to others at this bustling, fashionable steakhouse attached to butcher's shop. Staff were impressively knowledgeable about the various cuts on offer and our choices were cooked to perfection. Only criticism was an overly long wait of 45 mins for entrees: a... read more

We had a similarly positive experience to others at this bustling, fashionable steakhouse attached to butcher's shop. Staff were impressively knowledgeable about the various cuts on offer and our choices were cooked to perfection. Only criticism was an overly long wait of 45 mins for entrees: a pricey bottle of Oregon wine specifically chosen to complement the main had been... More

The restaurant is located in the same building than a butcher's shop, and the menu reflects that. Meat lovers, this is your place. The choice of pate was amazing, and I wish I could have bought some to take home. I had the beef tongue, and it was served in a creative manner, a crispy, and the taste was very... More

Overall, the meal and service was great! We started with beef tartar, fried cauliflower, and artichoke for appetizers. Dinner was various cuts of steak with sides of fries, salads, oyster aioli and vegetables. My medium steak was a little dry on the ends. Next time I will go "rare" because everyone else loved their's. The chocolate tort dessert was good.... More

We and another couple are here on a Saturday nite and we were very surprised at the whole experience. The restaurant is open with tables crammed pretty close so don't expect an intimate setting. There are seats outside and it's attached to a meat/butcher shop. The menu is heavy on steak but it's confusing with "entrees" meaning "heavy" garnish while... More

Our host at the B&B told us about this place when we were in Portland before, but we couldn't get in that evening. This time we made reservations before arriving. My wife had steak and I had salmon. We both got dessert. From start the finish the meal was very enjoyable. We would go back.

The menu was a little foo foo for me. Let me explain I'm not a steak lover and I don't eat beef tongue so I ordered the simplest thing on the menu........a burger which was delicious. The Mac and cheese was good too. My husband had steak it was ok. He picked this place. No I wouldn't go back not... More

My wife and I had a wonderful steak dinner. Highly recommend the ribeye! Salads and dessert were excellent as well. A larger beer menu would be nice but this is splitting hairs. We are from out of town, otherwise we would be back. Service was indifferent and a little slow but the atmosphere and food more than made up for... More

Laurelhurst Market and Restaurant is the current buzz in Portland, OR. It's a great place for outstanding service and good food. The menu is primarily beef and pork with a couple of fish offerings depending on the market. I enjoyed my meal but probably would have been wild about it if I were a more serious meat lover. Someone in... More

The beef shoulder we has was so tender it started to fall apart when I touched it with a fork. The fennel flan was amazing.

Spent Saturday night dining at Laurelhurst Market. Outstanding food and service! Be advised, go early! We could not get reservations, but if you arrive at 4:45 before they open, the meat market is open and you can get your name as a walk in. The ambience is casual although you will pay "fine dining" prices because the food is cooked... More
