Wonderful

Great I'm beyond's in this little restaurant talked off the street. I had a halibut on trade and it was one of the best I've ever had. The salad was so so fresh.

We were looking forward to this well reviewed restaurant for its craft food reputation...We went for brunch and ordered the migas. What was served to us consisted of scrambled eggs over cheap tortilla chips (definitely not house made) with a blob of what looked like Costco guacamole and then splashed with Tapatio! It was $14 for the tiny portion; most... More

I have resisted going to this restaurant for some time now even though I live very close by. In my mind I had set it aside as just another Portland restaurant that gets a lot of attention without really delivering. Well, I finally gave in. I went on a Monday night and was a bit thrown off by the fact... More

Went to Ned Ludd ' s the other night & was pleasantly surprised by the space - very unlike most Portland restaurants. It's fairly small & cozy. You can watch the chef cook everything in the brick "oven"-it's like watching someone grill outside. The bartender was really nice & helpful. Menu is small but very well thought out. Prices are... My wife and I had dinner there Saturday January 31. My meal was excellent while her's was not so good. I had pork belly which was of course incredibly tender and tasty buy my wife had the trout. The actual fish itself was fine but the salad that was basically dumped over the top of it was a odd combination... More

On our annual trip to Portland to visit our daughter this past June, my wife and I took her to Ned Ludd for dinner one evening. It is a funky looking place, very Portlandia. We were seated in a corner of the restaurant the farthest away from the kitchen area. We started off with the chef's charcuterie and cheese plate... More

I met up with four other women from my book group. We started with a lovely bottle of French cider; complex fruit and very refreshing. The charcuterie plate and the cheese plates were delightful. The greens gratin was very rich. One plate that was less interesting was a cauliflower and potato presentation. The desserts were varied and all tasty, but... More

Very intriguing dining room, with an amazingly simple kitchen that is visible from your table. Great service, and a very nice, reasonably priced wine selection. If it is available, a must-have is the whole roasted trout. I think anything you try will be delightful. Give it a try-you'll love it.

We had a very enjoyable dinner here. I found yummy vegetarian options (kale gratin, beet salad, brassic plate) and my companions enjoyed the seafood stew and roasted whole trout. The puffy flatbread was a good warm starter. Desserts of a cookie baked in a small cast iron pan, apple cake, and panna cotta with ground cherry sauce were all good.... More

Ned Ludd is an interesting setting with very tasty food. The roasted trout was very good, as well as the bratwurst special. Our party of 5 enjoyed each offering including the bruschetta with goat cheese. But, we were somewhat disappointed that a vegetarian offering was not available among the entrees. Perhaps the Monday night only wood fired pizza should be... More
