This place is so freakin cute inside I cant even take it! We had an amazing litle brunch sitting at the small high bar table. This helped us to avoid the 45 min wait that there was. It was worth sitting on a stool! The choc chip cookie came in a littel dutch pancake style pan and the baked eggs... More

Ned Ludd's showcases ingredients from local farms on its menu and in its decor. A small restaurant located in NE Portland. They are expanding soon and will have a venue for larger parties. Menu is ala carte so the bill can add up easily. I had the fire roasted trout which was wonderful and so was the salad it sat... More

Every Monday, Ned Ludd changes to a wood-fired brick oven pizza place playing old school hip hop music. So good - love it!

This is a small and quaint restaurant with very attentive service. The menu is concise so don't go in expecting pages of offerings but what's on it is most certainly made with love. The whole roasted trout (I didn't want the head with eye looking at me so told them to chop it off), charred leeks, season's cusp salad was... More

NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN. Made a reservation, bf's birthday, felt rushed the entire time we were there, which was 45 min's, so it's not like we lingered. Also, and most importantly, the Cod dish i got looked like something that was scraped off the griddle. My portion was TINY! No exaggeration, the piece of Cod was about the size of... More

A friend invited me to dinner last week here, They were offering a $29 3-course special - kale- stuffed quail, on bed of root veggies, crisp green salad with shavings of cheese and radish, and a tasty fruit-filled dough-thing (cannot recall the more attractive menu name) served in a hot iron skillet for dessert. Two bottles of a quite nice... More

Rustic chic inside, you could almost miss it from the outside. The food is excellent - they don't fool around! Showcase the main flavors, tender meat, fragrant, warm atmosphere, good service. Our only disappointment - a weak dessert list (3 items). Would go again in a heartbeat.

We visit Portland twice a year and our daughter takes us to high quality restaurants; many in the SE (Hawthorne) area. We have never been disappointed, but some are better than others. This time, the best was this one. I got the pork roast (do not remember what they named it) and it was so tender, I could cut it... More

Don't let the appearance of this restaurant fool you. We took a cab from the posh Nines Hotel where they had never heard of Ned Ludd and were a little worried when we were dropped at what looked like could've been a gas station! Not being ones to shy away from an experience, we ventured in and had one of... More

Friendly & professional yet not intrusive service. Yard sale tableware and decor. Limited yet surprisingly diverse menu and beverage list, and fabulous combinations of flavors. Go there unless you insist on someplace stuffy, fancy and formal.
