If you LOVE fresh food prepared in unusual ways get yourself here! This chef has it figured out! All staff were great. Wine choices excellent. We tried the trout and pork entrees and a couple of starters - all superb. The table next to us had six small plates and couldn't stop talking about how good they were. We were... More

All hot food is cooked in a wood fired oven. It's amazing. The drinks are hand crafted and very refreshing. We went there for dinner at 5:00 pm and it wasn't crowded at all. But I understand it gets very busy later.

After hoping to visit a Mexican restaurant next door which was closed, we noticed this place nearby. I thought it was a furniture store at first, because of the name.lol. When I looked it up, hoping to GOD it was, I found it was a Wood Oven locally grown food. The ambiance is amazing! I just want my home to... More

Really cool place--this is exactly what I think of when I hear "Portland". The food was simple, but interesting and tasty. Our server was great--no complaints!

You'll be drawn in by the simplicity of the concept - meat and fish go into the wood-fired brick oven. They get creative treatments without being weird. I ordered trout, de-boned but with head on (not easy to do!) with summer salad. It was the lightest expression of this fish I'd ever had, having subtle herbs tucked inside the flesh... More

We almost canceled our reservations for Ned Ludd. It was a taxi ride from the hotel and we were ambivalent about putting in the effort to get there. I am so glad we pushed. This is the best dinner that we had in Portland. We are foodies. We have eaten in Michelin one, two, three star restaurants. We travel to eat.... More

Five of us tried six different items from the dinner menu. Everyone was happy with their food and service. Each dish was very tasty, and portions were reasonably sized (we could actually finish our plates but didn't want desserts). Entrees used fresh, local ingredients and were creative without being fussy or weird. Inside space is small without much room for... More

This little tiny restaurant is an instant favorite. Everything that came to the table was run through the wood -fired oven and delicious. The wait staff is probably some of the best we have encountered!

Alas, all good things must come to an end. And so it is with this restaurant, which I've been to at least 10 times. It is always been a favorite. But the last two times, the food was less inspired and the servers were much less attentive. We're no longer going to make this our "go to" restaurant. It's too... More
