Outstanding

Any place that has a line at 3:30 in the afternoon must be doing something right. Their purple flower tea was surprisingly good - try it. Beans and rice, check. Fish tacos, check. Chips, guac and salsa, check. You will likely not go wrong in this friendly eclectic place. It's kinda mexican-ish... read more

When you walk into "Por Que No" you are instantly transported to a near the border taqueria. A Portland favorite, their tacos are always fresh, well seasoned with the perfect amount of bite, with an occasional rogue pepper to really spice things up! The margartitas are refreshing and I recommend the tamales plate in case you don't go with the... More

On our last night in Portland we dined at Por Que No on Hawthorne. No question this was the best meal of our visit. Yes it is a bit funky and yes we had to stand in line, but as it was said by another reviewer it was very much worth the wait! Carne Asada tacos, Tamales, Quesadillas and Pollo... More

Wonderful little Latin place on funky Hawthorne. You'll know you're there by the line out front. You walk in, take a menu, place your order at the counter, pay at the end of the counter and find a seat. The place meanders through a few different rooms, so be patient and adventurous. The food is great, the sangria is delicious... More

OK, when there's a lineup, that's always a good sign. Looks small, but the seating continues out the back into patio areas. Sangria, authentic tacos and some of the wildest decor I've seen in a while. So fun. We tried several kinds of tacos and one really stood out for me...crispy coated Atlantic cod with fresh pineapple, cabbage and a... More

We ate here for our first meal (happy hour) in Portland. Great tacos and prices and sized right to try more than one. We will be going back!

What a fun place to eat! We met here with some local friends that recommended this place and it was great! We sat on the back patio and the atmosphere was so fun! Food was authentic and delicious- next time I want to try the sangria they have in a huge jug up front!

I have been to both the Hawthorne and Mississippi venues many times and am always happy with the food. Recently I have had the al pastor salad two separate times and could not have been happier. Quite large, abundant fresh greens and other veggies, lots of wonderfully seasoned al pastor meat. The second time I brought about half of it... More

Fab food and atmosphere at this small but funky restaurant. Family took us for dinner and we loved it. Worth waiting in line for ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I've eaten here 3 or 4 times, always try to pop in when I'm in Portland. They don't have a huge choice for vegetarians but enough and it's always enjoyable and plenty of it and tastes very authentic. There is almost always a line out the door and up the block. The wait staff is very friendly and I really... More
