We went here with family on a Thursday evening and had an outstanding meal. The service was excellent, atmosphere casual and the prices reasonable for the quality and quantity. I ordered the pork Bolognese which was one of the finest I've had and the bruscetta with fried foie gras was delicious. Scallops with a risotto was another standout.

The atmosphere was very cozy, food was delicious and service outstanding. The value was very good. If we lived in Portland, this would be a go to place for us.

We enjoyed our meal dining outside while two musicians played background music just inside the restaurant. We were surrounded by happy people relaxing and enjoyed the delicious food.

We eat at A Cena four nights running during our B&B visit to Portland. The food, wine and service were second to none and this was the very best restaurant of our five week vacation in Montana and Oregon. We did not repeat a single dish and had three courses each night. Every dish was perfectly cooked, full of flavour... More

I held my son's rehearsal dinner at ACena's and could not have asked for a more wonderful experience. Eugene and the Chef were pinpoint on with exactly what I had wanted and asked for. The food was excellent. The service was perfect. It was as if I had had it at my home. I requested family style dinning and I... More

I wanted to give this an excellent rating for the food, but it was so awful uncomfortable due tot he heat and stuffiness -- that the experience in total was not enjoyable. With that said, I would go back in cooler months for sure. The artichokes, the pizza and grilled romaine salad were prepared with care - not slop on... More

We love A Cena..which means in Italian "an eating place", or close to that. It is a small restaurant but, huge on flavors, excellent customer service, inviting space and very authentic Italian food. Chris (the owner) is always there (it seems), he is very friendly and always seems to know you when you come in. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable... More

My husband and I rented a house in Portland , sellwood area, and found this great little Italian restaurant. We ate there twice while we were there and both times the food was delicious. The second time when I made the reservation I was asked if it was a special occasion and I said yes, our 52nd anniversary. I was... More

In a town full of great restaurants, A Cena stands out for its inventive yet not fussy menu, yummy food, and unpretentious and gracious service and surroundings. I especially loved a braised caesar salad and a pasta dish with sausage and a cream sauce.
