We shared several small dishes on a Monday evening (celebrating my birthday) and I was simply blow away by the Agnolotti (like a ravioli) stuffed with corn & Mascarpone in a butter/cream sauce and poached Maine lobster. I've never eaten something that sounded so simple yet was so sublime and complex with the blending of flavors and textures. We started... More

We went for dinner on a Friday night, and had a two-top, but the noise was so loud I couldnt hear either the server or my guest. Food is just average, despite the fact that all the pasta is house-made, much of it is cooked in butter and too rich. Service was good, but far from perfect: we had to... More

My husband and I weren't sure where to start. A couple of the many appetizers? Big plates of pasta or small? Would we need a secondi after all that food? Then our wonderful server arrived with even more choices. And focaccia and cheese sticks. Her recommendations from the wine list were knowledgeable and the wine we picked based on that... More

As Sellwood residents, our "foodie" friends took us to dinner at one of their favorite restaurants in Portland, A Cena. Because we had our dog with us, we had to eat outside at a table along the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. While we enjoyed eating outside on a beautiful night, the proximity to cars parked along the street... More

My wife and I went on a golf outing on Saturday to play Eastmoreland GC. After dinner, we decided to find a spot nearby since this is not our usual haunt. We came across a Cena and had a wonderful dinner. We snagged a table outside on the sidewalk - pleasant, marred only by the occasional passage of a TriMet... More

We went here with family on a Thursday evening and had an outstanding meal. The service was excellent, atmosphere casual and the prices reasonable for the quality and quantity. I ordered the pork Bolognese which was one of the finest I've had and the bruscetta with fried foie gras was delicious. Scallops with a risotto was another standout.

The atmosphere was very cozy, food was delicious and service outstanding. The value was very good. If we lived in Portland, this would be a go to place for us.

We enjoyed our meal dining outside while two musicians played background music just inside the restaurant. We were surrounded by happy people relaxing and enjoyed the delicious food.

We eat at A Cena four nights running during our B&B visit to Portland. The food, wine and service were second to none and this was the very best restaurant of our five week vacation in Montana and Oregon. We did not repeat a single dish and had three courses each night. Every dish was perfectly cooked, full of flavour... More
