This resturant is difficult to get into without a reservation but I can't see why. The resturant has good atmosphere but the food wasn't very good. I tried the mussels and had a pizza. My wife was unimpressed with the chicken. The service was slow, timing on dishes was off (appetizers came out with 20 minutes between them so some... More

Had a meal here with my parents, and it lived up to the reputation for good food. Excellent pizza and an even better cheesecake desert. The service was slow and food arrived before drinks which was a first!

The firehouse was a real firehouse in the 1900's? The food looked and tasted great. I had the pizza, with homemade pepperoni which was baked in a real brick oven. Fresh mozzarella , a thin crust loaded with flavor ! My husband had the cod which was served with artichokes ,onions, olives in a bouillabaisse type broth. My ONLY complaint... More

Let me begin by saying that I very rarely ever rate a place terrible. We chose this restaurant because it accepted reservations for 8. We had a 5:30 setting and they were ready for us when we arrived, but it was clear the server didn’t want a table of 8 (attitude and rudeness). We placed an order for drinks that... More

I have to say that I am a little amused with the poor reviews of the pizza and the thinness and scarce toppings. Those people have obviously never been to Europe, much less Italy. Just makes me want to go here more.......ps, kale should be braised. Keep doing what you're doing firehouse.

Saturday 4 of us had a fabulous dinner at the Firehouse in Portland. This restaurant is housed in a 100 year old firehouse which has been lovingly restored into a fun and funky eatery. The centerpiece of the kitchen is a wood-fired oven which produces pizza very similar to that in Italy, that is thin crusted, light fresh tomato sauce,... More

I would not feed a dog my plate at the Firehouse. Dry, rubbery meatballs that are half filler with too much fennel so that they taste like licorice. That drowning in an oily sauce that is the weirdest marinara I have ever encountered. All that lying on a bed of over-cooked, devitalize long beans that have no flavor whatsoever. Oh... More

Very unique, authentic firehouse. good place. Nice people. Cauliflower and chili flake pizza were great. Cauliflower was a tripadvisor review recommendation. The pizza was the server's suggestion. Both were spot on. Local brews on tap. Solid recommendation.

We ate here because their very nice outdoor seating area was featured in a sketch on the Portlandia TV series of which my teenage daughter is a big fan. Mostly farm to table fare at reasonable prices. My cauliflower appetizer was a bit too salty and my chicken main was good, not great. The ambiance is very nice, as this... More

This restaurant is a little gem. It is set in an old Firehouse that has kept all of its charm. Food was delicious and service was excellent. If you are in Portland you should definitely go there.
