The brew pub's 18 taps feature Deschutes mainstays plus a selection of seasonal and experimental beers developed and brewed on site exclusively for the Portland pub by brewer Ben Kehs. During a wedding weekend visit to Portland, we went to Deschutes Brewer in the Pearl District. The group tasted several beers and two of us opted for the fresh squeezed IPA. I am not typically a fan of fruit flavored beers but this one is quite tasty and refreshing. Another member of our group had the Smoking on the Dock... More

This is a very popular place it seems since there are always a lot of people piling in. Not sure why. the Deschutes brews are good and definately worth a taste. But, just like most big brew pubs they expect you to drink too much and not really care about the quality of the food. When your staff cannot get... More

Start with the beer tasting flight. It's fun and a great way to taste beers you might not ever have ordered off the menu. Burgers are fantastic! We had a fun time in the crowded bar during the Sea Hawks playoff game. Lots of laughter and fun times in this quintesential Oregon pub.

I visited this place twice on a four day trip to Portland. For a meal and to duck out of the rain and have a couple beers Deschutes offers several different themed flights of their beers. Me and my friend each got a different flight so we could maximize the number of beers we sampled. The food was great and... More

I love everything about Deschutes. The wait staff is friendly and the food and beer are delicious! I love the quinoa burger with a side of sweet potato fries! There is something about the ambiance that makes me happy! Anyone we've ever taken here love it, too! And you must try the pretzel!

We were very happy with both the beer and the food. The happy hour prices were a steal! It's an easy walking distance from many other touristy stops and is well suited for anyone from a couple to a large group.

Very fun place to go. Location is downtown in a neat walking district. Tables available inside and out. Old factory feel with exposed wood beams, wood floors and high ceilings. Taster beer racks are fun and a great way to sample. Pick your own or they have some preset selections. Good is good but not great. Had a burger that... More

The cuisine at this casual brewhouse is very upscale. The choices were surprisingly interesting...from bison, to elk, to the obsidian port mac n cheese with housemade sausage. Wait staff was SUPER friendly. Their specialty beer, Zarabanda, was incredible. And we were super happy they were open on New Year's Day.

I moved my daughter to Portland last year from the Houston, TX area and went to this restaurant/brewery. I really enjoyed the local beers and food and wanted to make sure I returned again when I came back to Portland to visit. I came back again in December 2014 and was quite pleased again. Matter of fact it was NYE.... More

Great beer, okay food. We loved the fact that you can make you flight and we got to sample some really great beers!!! Really cool atmosphere and friendly staff. Even though the place was busy we didn't have to wait long for a table. We ordered the pretzel appetizer. The pretzel was okay, the cheese sauce was delicious. If I... More
