Service was excellent & fast. Food was disappointing. A nice variety but lacked flavor. We had the pulled pork over grits. Grits ok but lumpy, pork was dry and tasteless. Could have used a "sauce". The special was the lamb shank and it was good but again was missing something. Would come back again for the service, atmosphere & beer.

I had the Curry fries and fresh squeezed wings (buttermilk fried chicken, Fresh Squeezed IPA, Thai chiles, togarashi spice, honey and fresh lime). The Abyss 2014 seasonal ale is out now so the timing to be in the Portland,OR area was spot-on.

I think the title says it all: the beer is fantastic, the menu is decent for a brewery, the selection is a bit limited and they could feature more local food. The ambiance is great and the patrons friendly and congenial. Service is good too.

Good food and beer. Great for lunch. Very crowded with interesting ambiance. Lots of different beers to choose from all made on site. The food is more than adequate and even though very busy the service is quite good. It may be necessary to wait for a table but you can always have a beer while you wait - if... More

Enjoyed Deschutes with it's Beautiful wooden carved beams, high ceilings and great beer. The homemade pretzel with cheese sauce is a must and the burgers were really good.

The Deschutes Brewery is in a huge space. Luckily, we got there early for lunch and we beat the crowds. Wait staff is full of young vivacious ladies and we were able to joke with ours. She had some good suggestions and on a cold day I had soup and bread. Perfect place for a casual lunch. She told us... More

The wood carvings are gorgeous, food is really good but we felt like the server rushed us out. We each had a sample pack of the beer and instead of asking us if we'd like a beer from the sample pack we were given the bill. Good food, good beer, great decor and lots of space, but a tiny bit... More

We came here by accident after seeing their menu. Mast in the bar where we proceeded to eat our hearts out. A must have is one of their flatbreads made with the spent grains from the brewing process. So green and so darn crispy and tasty. We also were crazy for the big, giant warm, gooey cookie for dessert. MMMMMM!

Was in Portland again for work last week, and made it a point to stop by Deschutes again. As per usual, I was not disappointed. Great beers on tap, quality bartenders. Even though I went at an off-peak time, the bar area was still quite busy. Was able to get a spot at the bar, and enjoyed sampling some of... More

The décor stands out. Amazing wood carvings. There were so many beers that we couldn't decide, so we ordered tasters. All were very tasty. Food had huge portions. Fried pickled cauliflower is fun to try.
