Fusing a distinct Northwest and classic Scottish Pub feel, this Pearl District destination has become a convivial gathering spot of beer and food lovers since its 2008 opening. The brew pub's 18 taps feature Deschutes mainstays plus a selection of seasonal and experimental beers developed and brewed on site exclusively for the Portland pub by brewer Ben Kehs. Executive Chef Jill Ramseier heads the kitchen team, crafting classic pub food taken to the next level. Thank God the food and beer were excellent. We were told 20-35 minute wait....we waited over an hour. We were lucky enough to get a place at the bar while we waited but for those who didn't I am sure the wait was agonizing. Saying that, by the time we were seated we were four beers in and not really... More

We were wandering around Portland on a rainy day and decided to walk over and have lunch after our morning at Powell's. Great place! The restaurant is huge so we were seated right away. The service was fantastic. We shared a choose your own sampler of beer. The food was delicious and we didn't feel rushed at all. Nice clean... More

I love coming to different breweries and getting the sampler of beers with some friends, nothing better than comparing and debating the differences, oh but wait you can add a huge delicious burger, I guess that makes it better. We came on a Sunday afternoon at 3 pm and still had a 10 minutes wait, so expect a crowd on... More

Hard to imagine a brewery as a family spot, but,it is kid friendly. We alway start with the pretzel, which the,Grandchildren devour in a flash. The children's menu is adequate, many choices ,and fairly priced. The salads are quite good, well constructed, fresh ingredients. The only negative is their consistent failure is cook the burgers to the desired degree, namely medium... More

There are a lot of pubs/brew places to try in Portland, but this one is a must. The food is fresh and delicious. The burgers are amazing anno spend the few extra $$ to add pork belly - it's well worth it. I'd also recommend the tomato soup. It's different than any other I've tried and did is spicy, but absolutely... More

There are lots of great pub choices in Portland, but Deschutes strikes a nice balance of good food, beer, and decor. Nice enough to take a date, but casual enough to hang out solo or with your friends. The food is better than standard pub grub and stands on its own. The beer selection is equally high quality.

This is a BIG brewery but the service is still good and the food is excellent. Over 25 brews on tap so everyone can find something to their liking. I had the Bison Burger which was cooked just right and added a Black Butte Porter to go along with it. This was a great combo. Our table also ordered the... More

Great seasonal beer. Like it better than what they call their IPAs. Flights are also a great way to try different beers. Their burgers are excellent.

Of course you need to like their brews, but if you do its a good place. The food was tasty and the beer selection (of their brews) nice. Wait staff was friendly and helpful, even on a very busy weekend. Would recommend a stop if you are in town for the beer for sure.
