My husband and I went to Deschutes on what must have been one of their busiest nights EVER! I believe they were celebrating their 25th or 26th anniversary on top of a Timbers home game. With that said, we slithered our way to the bar (to avoid the 2 hour table wait,) scored two barstools and proceeded to have some... More

We showed up at 7pm with 7 people in our party and we expected to have a very long wait. We were pleasantly surprised when our table was ready in about 20 minutes! We tried many different beers and ordered numerous appetizers before ordering our entrees. Our server was awesome! I wish I could remember his name! He was friendly,... More

Deschutes Brewery rates near the top of my list for breweries in Portland. I admit I'm partial to there IPA's but they also have a great menu. I ate lunch there one day (good burger) and dinner (steak and frites) on my birthday, the waitress even bought me a beer! Another advantage is the trolley stops and picks you up... More

Obviously. But as a beer lover, the limited amount of time I spent at this brewpub was more than enough to convince me. Portland has many microbreweries and the staff at this one were happy to show us where the competition was located, which to me is very special. I had the Classic Six taster, with varying beers, all brewed... More

Very cool beer pub in a converted garage. Atmosphere is great and they even brew most of the beers on site. Huge selection of brews on tap and the sampler is a great way to try out a bunch. The beer is seriously delicious, no wonder its regarded as starting the microbrewery movement. The food was also pretty good. I... More

Deschutes has such a reputation you'll likely wait for a table. For some reason, I ended up here twice in Portland. Had a nice bowl of chili ($9!) first time; second time, salmon tacos ($19!),which were good, but way too much food for one diner. I liked the Twilight Summer Ale though. Come here for a beer and appetizer. I... More

Pint of beer is $5 and delicious! Food is pricier than expected with beer cheaper than expected. You must get the brewery pretzel with creamy white cheese!

Although the Deschutes beer is starting to be available in the Midwest, going to Deschutes has been a right of passage for me when I go to Portland. Casual dining with great beers. Love the Black Butte Porter. This time I ordered a cheese board and it was nicely presented with cheese varieties, nuts, watermelon rinds and flatbreads. Yum!

My family had dinner at Deschutes Brewery while visiting Portland. It's a busy place, even on a Monday night! It was a really warm evening and we were seated outside, but it wasn't too bad. The outside tables are in the shade and it was great for people-watching. My kids and husband had really good burgers.Hubby and I each had... More
