Fusing a distinct Northwest and classic Scottish Pub feel, this Pearl District destination has become a convivial gathering spot of beer and food lovers since its 2008 opening. The brew pub's 18 taps feature Deschutes mainstays plus a selection of seasonal and experimental beers developed and brewed on site exclusively for the Portland pub by brewer Ben Kehs. Executive Chef Jill Ramseier heads the kitchen team, crafting classic pub food taken to the next level. Jill matches our brewer's passion, creating dishes from scratch with the best possible local ingredients.

Originally after the Blazer game, we set out for Henry's but when we parked, Deschutes happened to be right across the street. Very much enjoyed the Twilight Summer Ale and it went well with the Black Butte Mac-n-Cheese, which was really good by the way. Nice setting, I liked it a little better than the one in Bend...but then again... More

The beer sampler offered variety and was surprisingly inexpensive. Even the house made ginger ale was delicious. The food was also very good and the service was friendly and efficient.

My husband and I visited there just to enjoy some beers. We each started off with beer flights and then had a few specialty brews for the craft brewers convention. Highly recommended this spot for craft beer drinkers.

This place was amazing. Beer is great and ridiculously priced like so many craft breweries nowadays. $5 half liters - loved the Nitro Obsidian Stout and based on a servers recommendation, paired it with an Elk cheeseburger. Unbelievably delicious, and I will make an effort to go back at least one more time before I leave in two days

short wait at about 7PM on a weeknight. Outdoor seating available but too chilly. TERRIFIC service. Great selection on the menus. Did I say TERRIFIC service? Great space with some very comfortable decor. Steamed clams were very good - the fennel sausage is a very good addition to the clams however the balance of fennel and spice was different in... More

We stopped in for a tasting flight and some appies on Friday afternoon. I was not just impressed with the wonderful beer and good food but the service was outstanding. These guys just make amazing beer and the brew pub lived up to my expectations. A definite stop in Portland!

Four words: Obsidian Stout on Nitro Service was very attentive and instructive. Usual parking joys of Portland as we were driving through, but well worth the stop.

No surprise the wait was 50 minutes on a Friday evening and no one seemed upset because you can order a beer while you wait. We had a sampler tray of beer, ribeye steaks and a house burger. All the meat was cooked exactly to order. Service staff was helpful and kept water glasses filled - a key point in... More
