High energy and good food at Deschutes

My husband and I visited Portland last week, and knew we had to make a stop at a brew pub while we were there. We liked the look of their menu online, and decided to choose Deschutes. The building used to be a service station garage, and has been wonderfully remodeled with lots of wood and a very... read more

Yummy tomato soup and grill cheese. The atmosphere is fun. The wait is long. They offer beer tasting which is helpful.

This place is pretty popular as you'll see if you go here. We had a short wait, but i'm sure at some times there can be a hefty wait. The food was really great, and the beers were top notch. I've been to breweries all over the world - this Public House had the most 'brew swag' options of pretty... More

I had been there a number of years ago and decided to return. We ate dinner and sampled a number of delicious beers. Our server was Jason and he was on point, witty and delightful to be around. This place offers a very nice atmosphere and terrific food, beer and service to back it up.

The food is very good. But after waiting 20 minutes and asking for my check twice, I finally went up front on my own to pay my bill.

We were pleasantly surprised with this brewery, both the food and the beer were really good. I would definitely go back and try more of the menu if we were in the area again.

This is a fun, lively place. I didn't love my meal choice but that was my fault. It was well prepared and all good but I wish I had chosen one of the burger options instead. The beer choices were amazing and Decshutes beer is up there with the best of them. My wife is not crazy about beer but... More

Really busy, but worth the wait. It was delicious. I wish the service was faster. We were there for over 2 hours and had to wait for the waitress a lot. I had the vegetable saute which was great and my boyfriend had the Mac and cheese, also great. If you go, make sure you're not too hungry cause they'll... More

I'm so used to brew pubs having OK food, but this one is different. The grub here is actually gourmet fine dining but in a casual brewery atmosphere and decent prices. The patio is dog friendly and the wait staff are very nice and efficient. Alas, I don't live in Portland, *sigh* or I've found my new watering hole.

Came here after work for a burger and beer. Firstly, the atmosphere is brewery casual, and very warm and inviting. They had some amazing wood carvings/archways decorating the place, which were very cool. Service was good, and I went with the pale ale and burger. The beer was great, the burger solid, and we had a good time. Most definitely... More
