Fusing a distinct Northwest and classic Scottish Pub feel, this Pearl District destination has become a convivial gathering spot of beer and food lovers since its 2008 opening. The brew pub's 18 taps feature Deschutes mainstays plus a selection of seasonal and experimental beers developed and brewed on site exclusively for the Portland pub by brewer Ben Kehs. Executive Chef Jill Ramseier heads the kitchen team, crafting classic pub food taken to the next level. Jill matches our brewer's passion, creating dishes from scratch with the best possible local ingredients.

Well.... That about sums it up, when yer talking about Portland Beer/Restaurants. The Bigger the brewery gets, the bigger the ego..... the bigger the restaurant. You can't call them pubs when they get to this size. SO.... There seems to be an outline most of them follow. Serve their decent beer and pretend to have some kind of decent food?... More

Deschutes is my favorite brewery, so it's no surprise that I found their beer selection inspired and refreshing. But the star of the night was their buffalo burger, which was cooked and seasoned just right. It's one of the only places I know of that regularly has Buffalo on the menu, and it's well worth that all on its own.

I was very pleased with everything about this restaurant. It was roomy, without other people on top of me, yet was full and on a wait. The waitress was great, making suggestions that fit us perfectly. Hubby loved the beer and I had a relatively local Chardonnay, which I liked, and I am very picky. Even the size of the... More

Obviously this place is a beer-first establishment. So, the beer is good and worth the trip. Food was underwhelming. My uncle and I both ordered the elk burger medium. Mine was medium, his was very well done. The one cooked properly was pretty good but the fries tasted old and stale. Again, it's a good place to go for beer,... More

Came here for lunch on our last day in Portland, good food & great service. Interesting range of beers plus a number are brewed on site. Good atmosphere and the place gets very busy.

We had a sampler of our choices, and avoided the ipas as they aren't our thing. Porter and nitro stout were fantastic, everything else was one note and forgotten with the exception of the abyss, which was awful, almost to the point of being undrinkable. Food was good, we had the elk burger. Cooked perfectly and matched well with its... More

Great restuarant and bar, great decor and ambiance. Deschutes Abyss is one of my favorites, highly recommend. Gets full pretty fast, popular place in PDX.
