My husband and I enjoyed Cacao as a twist to the typical night cap. It was a fun and tasty twist! The staff was very friendly and helped us pick something off the menu.

My boyfriend was going to be in portland during our anniversary, so I wanted to surprise him with a nice gift. I called cacao and asked them to let me know what types if white chocolate they had. An employee emailed me with a picture if all their white chocolate, as well as a description of each type. I could... More

We got the hot chocolate trio. It was incredibly rich and would be ideal for sharing. They have an incredible diversity of exotic chocolates for purchase. Able to complete all shopping for loved ones here. The salty caramel is sooo good. Considering whether I can have more shipped:)

We enjoyed the cocoa house, but felt the drinking chocolate was too heavy for our taste. The teenagers LOVED it! Fun people watching.

If you like chocolate, you must stop here. There are numerous chocolates to sample, and when you're done sampling, amble over to the chocolate bar and have a hot chocolate that will leave you moaning with pleasure! Three of us shared a 2 oz. demi-tasse of hot chocolate, and we couldn't even finish it. It was rich, thick and utterly... More

What a new experience for my sister and I, being appreciative chocaholics. This place will take the time to educate you and you'll have a new appreciation for this food we all love. Who knew that so many places around the world, can produce chocolate of this magnitude. Such variety, smoothness, boldness, depth without being bitter, with the chocolates we... More

This quaint chocolate house has a variety of drinking chocolates both hot and cold. We enjoyed the taster of 3 different drinks ranging from classic dark to spicy chocolate. It was quiet in the shop as people sipped and talked, or some just getting work done while indulging in Cacao. The staff was helpful in selecting different products other than... More

I have tried chocolate from all over and all over the world and this is bar none (no pun intended) one of my favorite places. Not only can you get divine drinking chocolate in normal or shot sizes (my favorite being the cinnamon milk chocolate though my friend swears by their spicy dark chocolate), their selection of good chocolate that... I was really disappointed. Lots of what they sold was over priced and found elsewhere cheeper. Dont get me wrong it was a cute place and all but I would rather go to godiva or schocolate in leavenworth. So many specialty chocolate places in the world and this just wasnt anything special.

We spotted Cacao while walking near the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall (the one with the Portland sign). This tiny little shop has an amazing inventory of different gourmet chocolates from around the world, including a nice collection of local artisan chocolates- like Xocolatl De David who make a tiny, yet decadent, Raleigh Bar that combines pecans, nougat, & bacon caramel...
