Best View from a Restaurant in Port Orford

Redfish overlooks Battle Rock in the harbor at Port Orford. It's a beautiful view and sometimes you can spot whales close to shore. I was surprised the menu wasn't more seafood oriented. That said, I had a meal of two large fish fillets, cod and perch. The fish was excellent, fresh, and cooked... read more

Stopped at the Redfish because driving by saw the most beautiful view from the road near the restaurant. Enjoyed a great meal and more views from the deck of the Redfish. Also visited the adjacent art gallery and very much enjoyed that!

I saw that Redfish had been the subject of a flurry of negative reviews and went to dinner there to see what had changed. Indeed there was a change. The food had gotten even better. The service was, as usual, excellent and the view incomparable. I started with a house green salad. It came with various vegetables including peppers, kale,... More

We were impressed with some of the exotic appetizers and very clean and prompt services. You know you are getting high quality foods when the dishes arrives to your table. The chef even spoke with us. It is the upper scale of eating out.

We've been going to Redfish for quite a while. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was excellent. They recently had a change of chefs and menu. The menu suggests a unique and inspired dining experience...however, the promise is not kept. All four of us were disappointed. I had the special which was salmon with risotto and clams. The salmon... More

Traveling along the coast we decided to stop for lunch. Service was sub par as was the food. Very bland and nothing special except for the price. View was amazing but the restaurant as a whole was very snobbish. According to the locals it is owned by the art gallery next door. Maybe they should stick to art, which by... More

Stopped here for lunch while touring the southern coast of Oregon. We were surprised by the selection of non-standard lunch offerings. I had the chef's special of the day which I wish I could relay in its entirety but it included pollock with a bechamel sauce, small paella-marinated shrimp and asparagus. Delicious. $15. My husband, less cuisine-minded had a hamburger... More

Thank you for your review. We are very happy your guest experience was what it was. I want to mention that the fish you had was not Pollock but was Petrale sole and Rockfish caught here on the South Coast. Just wanted to make that clear so that readers understand we only serve fresh (never frozen), local fish from here... More

We have eaten at Redfish several times with excellent reviews, but our last visit was comical. I ordered a steak and was served five thin slices of beef (less than three ounces) two thin slices of polenta and four asparagus spears on a very large plate for $25.00. You've seen the Cheetos commercial where the family goes to a fancy... More

We went here for dinner when we were camping at Cape Blanko. We went for a good seafood dinner and were surprised that there were limited offerings for this type of food. What we got was a special that night and it was a selection of two kinds of white fish coated and fried. It was just OK. The setting... More

I have had two really good experiences at Redfish. Stopped once for lunch and once for dinner. The food was great both meals and the view is unbeatable. Our waitress was a little slack in keeping our drinks and waters refilled on our dinner visit without an apparent cause. Not that busy at the time, but I would definitely stop... More
