Historic, classic cowboy bar & restaurant

My wife and I had dinner at the Rainbow Café. We both tried their signature broasted chicken, which was very good. On a funny note, I mentioned to the waitress that my wife's dinner was missing a piece of chicken; she said that the cook had accidently dropped it into the trash can. Go see it for... read more

Had breakfast here on the way out of town. Basic eggs, hashbrowns & bacon with coffee. The food was good, the coffee not so much, & the service was VERY slow. We waited over 30 minutes after order, but at least that was less then the guy next to us that waited 40 minutes. And no, the place wasn't all... More

Lots to look at around the restaurant while you wait for your food. Our breakfast was a bit greasy and it took 45 minutes to get. Learned from our waitress/bartender that they have only one cook. Very surprised to learn that as the place was really busy.

We went here because we want to eat their chicken. There was a wait but we had one of the appetizers ( clam strips ) which was very good. When the chicken came it was hot and tasted great. The dinner is served with a salad and JoJo potatoes. The service was very good and we will be back.

Just wanted to pass this on to other travelers who are looking for a kid-friendly spot. They don't allow kids in after 4:30. We ended up going to Prodigal Son Brewery which was a perfect fit and great food and beer.

This would be a 4 star review if it relied on the Rainbow Special Burger alone. However, the atmosphere was rather dingy. The server was attentive and engaging, and we did definitely feel welcome. All over it was an average lunch.

This place serves consistently good food. They have a great broasted chicken if you want to wait the obligatory 20 minutes.

We walked into the Rainbow Cafe just before 11:00 and wanted breakfast. After waiting several minutes without anyone acknowledging we were there...an older waitress came over and asked if wanted coffee. We said we were there for breakfast and she said it was too late since they stopped serving at 11:00...it was now 11:10 and we had been there since... More

We stopped in twice for lunch, once on the way to Clyde Holliday State Park and coming back, after touring the Pendleton Underground. The burgers and especially the Reuben sandwich are very well done, as are their fries and onion rings. The wait staff doesn't have much to say, but who cares? The food took me back to my childhood...
