We always celebrate special occasions at the Hilltop. This is absolutely the best dinner house in the Bay area. The Early Bird is great but the steaks are especially good. The Rib-eye is the best steak anywhere and we have lived in Portland and Seattle. The price is the lowest steak for the quality this side of Chicago. If you... More

To put this simply. If you are looking for a nice juicy steak... dont come here. I love a good prime rib, and who doesn't. Well for $35 I was expecting a great steak. I was wrong. Out of 16oz only about 8 was actually edible meat the rest was gristle and an extreme amount of fat. I mean i... More

Pro's: Great View, Nice staff. Con's: We ordered off the Daylight menu which had 6 or 7 items on it. On the main menu they wanted around $21-24 just for chicked.....Honestly i would never pay that much for chicken. Both my husband and i ordered the "Chopped steak" which is basically a cheap way to use steak. It was so... More

We enjoyed our dining experience with two outstanding entrees. We had a crab stuffed halibut and a delicious steak/crab combo. Exceptions: Dinner salad, clam chowder, and bread were unremarkable and vegetables with the entrees relied too heavily on squash. Our tonic drinks were flat. Perhaps it wasn't their best night. We will try them again. Rather pricey as well.

I've eaten here twice now & I would highly recommend it. Be sure to make reservations...especially if you want a window seat (looks out over the bay). Many choices to choose from so you won't be disappointed. A good place to take your sweetheart for that special occasion!

We come to the sane dunes a few times each summer and always make it a point to head up to Hilltop House and eat at least one meal. Delicious steak and seafood type food - quiet classy atmosphere. We are usually a bit underdressed in our sweatshirts and jeans, but they give us the same great service anyway. Food... More

When we finally arrived (wrong address was given to us), the establishment looked a little dated from the outside, and the patrons leaving were in jeans and tennis shoes. We felt a bit overdressed, and our expectations of a romantic dinner out fell a bit. However we were greeted by a friendly face and guided to a nice window table... More

we went again last night to our favorite restaurant. the food, as usual, was very good. the experience was so memorable due to the superior service we received. I think the waitresses name was "Daisy" or something like that. anyway, we would recommend that anyone go to this fabulous restaurant. Ask for Daisy.
