My husband had been craving Razor Clams and we had given up finding them on this trip. Li and behold- excellent razor clams at The Hilltop House! Service was friendly and attentive, prices were very reasonable. We would go again on our next trip thru Oregon. They should update the place, though.....

A word first: if you blink you might miss the drive up to the Hilltop. They feature a small menu focusing on seafood and steaks. Soup or salad is included with the entrée. We opted for the Boston clam chowder, which was creamy and loaded with the shellfish. Prime rib came as ordered, medium rare. The beef came with grilled... More

The attention that is given from the time we walk in the door is unparalleled. The warm and comfortable atmosphere prepares you for the quality of the meal that is prepared for you. We always enjoy dining here and love to bring our out of town guests for a special evening.

Very good food. The appetizers were excellent, the clam chowder had a huge amount of clams, nice atmosphere. The entree, unfortunately was not great. My crab-stuffed prawns were smothered with hollandaise sauce. Yuck. Nowhere did the special menu we had indicate that hollandaise was on the dish. Very disappointing. I scraped off what sauce I could but could not get... More

We always celebrate special occasions at the Hilltop. This is absolutely the best dinner house in the Bay area. The Early Bird is great but the steaks are especially good. The Rib-eye is the best steak anywhere and we have lived in Portland and Seattle. The price is the lowest steak for the quality this side of Chicago. If you... More

To put this simply. If you are looking for a nice juicy steak... dont come here. I love a good prime rib, and who doesn't. Well for $35 I was expecting a great steak. I was wrong. Out of 16oz only about 8 was actually edible meat the rest was gristle and an extreme amount of fat. I mean i... More

Pro's: Great View, Nice staff. Con's: We ordered off the Daylight menu which had 6 or 7 items on it. On the main menu they wanted around $21-24 just for chicked.....Honestly i would never pay that much for chicken. Both my husband and i ordered the "Chopped steak" which is basically a cheap way to use steak. It was so... More

We enjoyed our dining experience with two outstanding entrees. We had a crab stuffed halibut and a delicious steak/crab combo. Exceptions: Dinner salad, clam chowder, and bread were unremarkable and vegetables with the entrees relied too heavily on squash. Our tonic drinks were flat. Perhaps it wasn't their best night. We will try them again. Rather pricey as well.
