Cafe Mundo has great organic food and the building is very cool / interesting. Looks are deceiving, From the outside, it looks a bit rundown,,,but, it's really cool on the inside. And there is lovely patio dining outside, weather permitting. The decorations are fun and casual. My favorites include the fish tacos and the tuna steak sandwich. Their poppyseed salad... More

Atmosphere is great; lots of quirky, fun items to enjoy. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food is wonderful; plenty of choices, and the servings are generous. Good coffee! Outdoor seating area is beautiful. Lots of variety in the live music. Definitely recommended!

We always visit when we're in Newport. Funky atmosphere, lots of interesting art about. Mostly adults but of all ages. Open mic isn't too loud. Good beer.Healthy food.

Quirky in a great way, I walked in and said "why oh why can't we have places like this in DC?" Great food (very healthy AND very very tasty), generous portions and warm service. I wanted four things on the menu, it all looked so good. I wish we had gone back for dinner! Sit by the window and enjoy... More

Our relatives who we are visiting are Vegans. They had been preparing dinner for us the last 2 nites so we offered to take them to dinner they suggested Cafe Mundo. We sat upstairs and drank beer and wine which was delicious. My Wife and I had the fish tacos,I liked them she didn't. My vegan friends ate sushi and... More

Cafe Mundo is what brings my wife and I back to Newport. We love the funky atmosphere and the food is wonderful. Plan to sit and enjoy for awhile. You should be relaxing in Newport. It is worth it.

After reading the reviews and checking out the menu, we decided to stop in at Cafe Mundo. We both ordered the Albacore Burgers, which we were told had been purchased from a fisherman they'd been working with for years. Burgers came with a salad side. The tuna was great! Flavor and texture was appetizing and we both enjoyed our meals.... More

The food isn't good. The prices too high. The service not very attentive. I ordered a pasta - it tasted like it was reaheated in the microwave. My wife had a less than average egg plant salad and on top of that they never brought the lemonade she ordered. Disappointed.

After eating out for a week during our honeymoon, my husband and I were thrilled with our Café Mundo experience. It was recommended by the person at the tourist info centre as well as our hotel. We were a bit hesitant to go in, since the entrance looks a bit run down and weird, but once we are sure glad... More

Simply stated, the service in this place is WEAK. We had an awful experience. After waiting at least 20 minutes, we had to ask for our pre-meal soup. Our water had long since been empty. After the soup, our one hour wait for our entrees began. We waited, and waited, then got an apology and assurance the food would be... More
