Kam Meng came highly recommended but for me was more about the decor than the food. The art featured on the walls is beautiful but the meal was only average at best. If atmosphere is your most important ingredient then I would say give them a try.

This restaurant accommodates gluten-free diners. The food is the best Chinese we've ever had. It is not loaded with soy sauce, is light, flavorful and not greasy like most Chinese cuisine. The owner has a remarkable life story, plays the piano beautifully with no knowledge of music or lessons and is an accomplished artist. Her outlook on life is enlightening.... More

It was acceptable. I had the Spicy Korean soup - served in a large stainless bowl & it was a big portion. Overall, I enjoyed the flavor. The server was friendly and would try different dish when I return.

i eat a lot of Chinese food being married to an Asian wife. I always enjoy the different take on how the Chinese food is prepared. Every Chinese restaurant makes almond chicken or lemon chicken different. I enjoyed my dinner at this Chinese restaurant . I can't say it is my favorite but the food was very good and the... More

The restaurant is a tad out of the north side of town. The restaurant has a stunning view of the highway blowing by, but it is warm and cozy. When I walked in there were two tables and the loudest piano music I have ever heard outside of a piano bar blaring "Jingle Bells". I was taken a back and... More

Wow, had lunch there today and forgot how fresh and tasty their food really is. Had the "Happy family " lo-mien dish and there is sooooo much food had to take some home. Soup and a main dish and so good. No "zucchini fillers" here like most Chinese places. Lots of meat and noodles with fresh cabbage, onions, broccoli and... More

This was at the end of our bi-annual visit to Newport, and Kam Meng was our "go to" place for crab. Our other two restaurants that we had visited this time didn't work out so well this time, a third was out of business (about a month after our last visit, apparently, but not because of us!), so we were... Good fresh Chinese food. Nice selection. We found the co-owner with her music entertaining. Her story of becoming a musician is on a laminated sheet at each table. I'd go back.

Amazing Food! I love the beef w vegetables over noodles-yummy and consistent and they will make it how you like it(such as no mushrooms, no added salt) I love that they use 'real' vegetables in this and not canned Chinese veggies like watercress(yuck), celery(yuck) and baby corn(meh). They use broccoli, zucchini, carrots and other fresh items in a light delicate... More
