Great but expensive

We have been visiting Newport forever and been hearing about LOS so we finally had dinner there. The presentation was incredibly beautiful --Halibut and veggies-- so pretty and very delicious--felt like I was having Halibut for the first time. We also had the house chowder--it was okay--I guess I... read more

We love this place so much, that we plan on eating there as many times a possible, whenever we come to stay at the coast! If you eat upstairs, you have a very nice view of the harbour and fishing boats. It's those boats that provide the fresh, daily menus. We love the fish and chips, but always have the... More

This is what it's all about, my friends. Delicious seafood bounty arriving daily right across the street. As fresh as fresh can be, and prepared just right. If you're at the beach and you're craving the seafoods, this is a can't miss.

Great food. Great service. Great view! Had lunch here today on the advice of the hotel desk clerk. He said they have the best seafood and he was right. I had the fish tacos and pink shrimp soup. So good!

We went one evening based on reviews, and were not disapointed. I had the fishwive's stew, and is now my favorite memory or Oregon. My wife had the crab po boy, which was also great. My daughter, who says she does not like seafood, could not stop raving about the scallop salad she had. Everyhting was fresh and although not... More

Ask for a table upstairs! It is quiet and there are beautiful views of the boats coming n and out of the bay. The food is out of this world. Portions are reasonable size. I prefer good food and reasonable portions as opposed to generic food and plates piled high. My husband and I split the crab bisque, it was... More

Their food is excellent and consistent. We eat here often, and have ordered almost everything on the menu and without a doubt, we have loved every dish. The addition of the upstairs dining room is wonderful. It is quiet there and offers terrific views of the bay and the Newport bridge. It is nice for couples as well as families.

Well, at least it's the best I've visited, by a mile. When you visit a coastal town, you want FRESH seafood. I hate getting jarred oysters or frozen fish when I'm at the beach. None of that stuff here. They buy a lot of their seafood direct from fisherman. The preparation equals the freshness. My wife and I had a... More

This review is based on at least 5 visits over the last year. This food/restaurant always exceeds our expectations. The seafood is so fresh. It's right off the dock. Of course we have our favorites ...Rockfish Italianano and Tuna Mignon. We do try other menu choices and specials that are quite good but always come back to our favorites. There... More
