As we usually do in a new place, we asked several locals for their advise about where to eat. 2 of the 2 shop owners told us to try Local Ocean Seafood. They also suggested to ask for a table upstairs. We had to wait about twenty minutes but it was well worth the wait. They took our cell number... More

The food at Local Ocean Seafoods is always great, but they don't serve clam chowder. Instead, we had roasted garlic and Dungeness crab soup, which was terrific. Their fish and chips had fantastic fish, mediocre chips, and a fennel slaw for which I didn't care. Next day I had scallops, kebob, style. Wonderful. The only problem is finding a place... More

Four of us ate here during an Oregon coast trip. We had four different entrees and all four were great. They also provided spot on recommendations for their micro brew offerings. View upstairs is the best!

Sustainably harvested, deliously prepared, comfy atmosphere, friendly service.... Can't go wrong with this place. And the price is right too.

A recent addition to the facility has greatly reduced the wait times for this outstanding seafood restaurant. It was not uncommon for folks to wait patiently for over two hours - a hint as to the reward at the end of the time!

I ordered the Mosques de Peixe (Brazilian stew). It was an extremely tasty coconut milk stew chock full of Dungeness crab, large prawns and rockfish. My husband likewise enjoyed the Fishwives Stew - much like his favorite Cioppino. Servings were large and satisfying. The service was helpful and the server was well versed in the menu. I would order this... More

We made a special trip from Lincoln City to eat here again. After we finally found a parking place, we were immediately seated. Our drinks and soup were served rather fast and friendly. And then we waited and waited. My dish had not enough Oregon shrimp, the crab sandwich we had was good. I doubt, that we will be back.

My boyfriend and I came for lunch while visiting Newport. We sat outside, service was very good. We shared 2 dishes - the grilled calamari (calamari mixed with thinly sliced roasted fennel, mushrooms, feta cheese, poblano peppers, olives and vinaigrette), and the fish and chips (grilled fish, fennel slaw and fries). The calamari was a delicious combination of ingredients. The... More

We had heard how fantastic this place was, and have eaten at many seafood restraunts in the area over the years, so we had high expectations. What a letdown this place was. My $18 fish and chips was one, ONE small piece of fish. It tasted good, nothing special. As others have said, the "coleslaw" is cabbage, nothing more. The... More

This place is spectacular! Great view of the marina and the food is so good and expertly prepared that we actually routed our vacation to Newport so we could eat here! Have tried many items on their menu, including crab cakes, crab poboy, fish tacos, pan fried oysters, garlic and crab soup, salmon and one of my absolute favorites black... More
