When I think about going to Newport I'm more excited about Local Oceans Restaurant than almost anything else. Their Tuna minion is mouth watering.

I love the ocean (and seafood) and sometimes worry about the sustainability of the seafood I eat (especially living in the midwest). I wasn't worried here! The food was fresh (most of it right off the docks a stone's throw away. We sat at the Chef's counter and were entertained and impressed by all the possibilities (I wish we had... More

We had a vegetarian and another fussy eater in our group - we need not have worried! All diets catered for - yes - in a seafood restaurant. The fish lovers were in paradise - local fish freshly caught and prepared. The vegetarian was served an excellent tempeh salad....looked so amazing that another customer remarked on it! Worth a trip... More

If you are a true seafood lover, then go ahead and enjoy! I am not a huge fan of seafood, and the only thing on the menu not seafood was a hamburger, which was okay. Also, the kids selection is very limited. I would suggest this for true seafood lovers only. The seafood is very fresh!

I really like this place! Very fresh had its own market for seafood also. The fish and chips were awesome but I loved the fennel salad! Vet little restaurant fills up fast !! Get there early! Lived their food and atmosphere! Right on the harbor!

Local ocean serves fresh seafood and the restaurant opens up for a nice view of the port and boardwalk

Our party of six had a delicious seafood dinner for my daughters birthday. We sat at a corner table overlooking the bay and feasted on crab cakes, Chowder, Brazilian stew, a whole crab in the shell and the tuna wrap to name a few things. EVERYTHING was delicious and spiced just nice. We made our reservation based on Trip Advisor... More

It was our good fortune to sit at the chef's counter last night for dinner. Watching the efficient and respectful chef & kitchen staff prepare tens of dishes at a brisk pace was like seeing a dance company performance. Our tuna mignon and Brazilian tuna dishes were delicious. Perfectly crisp (plentiful) vegetables, second to none fresh-caught local tuna and scrumptious... More

Awesome view of Newport from upstairs. Many of our dishes were kind of a bust, but the quality of ingredients was outstanding. The view and the garlic crab soup alone are worth the visit.
