On a recent trip to Newport, we stopped at Panache again. The restaurant is a real gem on the Oregon Coast. The hostess was extremely welcoming and we learned she was one of the owners. She seemed to take great pride in the restaurant, in a converted house. We were given two soup samples as an amuse bouche. Clam Chowder... more

My husband and I stepped into this place not knowing what a gem we discovered. The menu had $10 winter specials that were very good. The dessert is a must. We were the only ones in the place since we got there when it opened. Great service, great food, and a nice atmosphere. This is a must to try when... more

I've visited Panache twice. Both times the food has been excellent and made with a lot of care. The service and atmosphere are wonderful. Wine list is excellent and the chocolate creme brulee is perfect and I am known to send back bad creme brulee. Would be nice if they had slightly better prices when you want salad or soup... more

Outstanding service. Little treats at the beginning that I'd rather you be suprised about than me tell you. Soups were great. The building was cozy and fun. Duck dish was outstanding for flavor. The highly vaunted halibut was good, but not great. One of our top 3 on the coast. Save room for dessert and try one of each! more

My family and I have been coming to the Oregon coast for 15 years. We have only a handful of restaurants that we think are worth revisiting. This was our first time at Pananche and we loved every second! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the food and service were among the best we have ever had. It is... more

I just returned from eating at the restaurant, and I had a very nice meal of the tuna with wasabi, risotto, and carrots. I was skeptical about how well that collection of flavors and textures could work together, but it was really tasty. The service was friendly, responsive, and unpretentious, and the atmosphere was comfortable and personal. All in all,... more

I am a local, and have decided this is my new favorite place. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and the holiday decor very nicely done. Last week I had the caesar salad to start, very fresh and tasty, and then the seared tuna, perfect. I am also a big fan of the burger, tender and juicy. They are also... more

I don't know if the last few writers were in the same restaurant I was! Panache simply can't be missed--there are a few competitors in Newport, but they can't touch this experience. This is the place you have to select if you have only one choice, but if you have the opportunity to go to more than one upscale restaurant... more

I've had fresher seafood 600 miles inland than what I was served at Panache. The only redeeming factor of our dinner was the clam chowder (not exactly difficult to master). I also ordered a seafood chowder which was more like a sweet pasta sauce than a savory soup. Salmon and Halibut were both dry. Presentation was unimpressive. Service left somthing... more
