We weren't sure from the look of the outside, but decided to go for it because of the reviews we read.. Didn't regret it one bit, had the best meal in Newport, can't wait for our next visit..

Chioppino(spell?) was absolutely must have. Want to try the super bowl of bouillabaisse sometime in the future. Little spicy to 8&5yo kids though.

A friend recommended Sharks as the place locals go for great food. She said ignore the dive bar appearance, it's really the best seafood around. Her advice/opinion was spot on. My husband and I shared a "small" bowl of cioppino as a starter - it was fantastic, and the fish special for me (red snapper) and gumbo for him. We... More

Not sure where to start everything was so good -- the steamed clams were excellent as was the cioppino, ciopinno with past, and the gumbo. The flavor's of both the sauces was perfect -- not too bland, not too spicy, just extremely tasty. Karen was a lot of fun -- where can you go and have the waitress explain what... More

My wife and I were lucky enough to eat at Sharks on Valentine's Day. The food was tremendous. Karen does a great job running the front of the house basically by herself. She manages to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves and the food, no matter how busy they are. Chef Corky works magic with great seafood. The dishes are... More

We loved sitting up at the bar watching all the food being prepared -the marinara is homemade and apparently has 31 ingredients including 3 kinds of tomatoes! - Everything was freshly prepared - we felt very welcomed into the restaurant. and were put at ease. It's not a large operation, but so genuine and personable. The Cioppino was tasty, hot... More

Whenever I am on the Oregon Coast I make a point of stopping at Sharks in Newport. I can always count on a delicious meal with exceptionally fresh seafood. Great wine and beer selection too. The atmosphere is so pleasant. A tiny place well worth visiting.

we always come here when in Newport..and always order the crab dinner..a generous portion of fresh steamed loose crab meat, served with garlic butter for dipping, a huge portion of salad (their homemade thousand island is really good!) , fresh steamed veges and fruit. The owners are friendly and fun..it's a quirky place, a little "old school", but solid good... More
