There are about 4 table, the rest of the seating is at the bar. The restaurant is tired and looks as if they either don't have the time or don't care to update the interior of the restaurant. The food was fresh and good. Very healthy portions. Not much regarding beer or wine selection. The average entree is around $32.... More

This is a very small restaurant so get there early otherwise there is a wait line. We went there for a friend's birthday. He particularly likes the cioppino. And boy was it GOOD. Husband cooks, wife serves. Everything clean, neat and we had a wonderful time. It was our friend's birthday and they brought us a birthday ice cream for... More

The thing that stands out in this tiny hole-in-the-wall is the unusual method of cooking. Each serving is individually steamed on submarine-kitchen steamers just behind the back bar.It is fun to watch Corky, the owner, as he cooks--you can do that if you sit in that part of the restaurant. Karin, his wife, is the only wait person, and very... More

This place was great. Awesome service, nice atmosphere. I ordered the crab entree. It was a ton of food. Very fresh salad with homemade dressing. Great selection of fresh fruit. And a giant portion of picked crab meat with garlic butter. Served with warm sourdough bread. My husband had the cioppino and loved it. Overall an excellent experience. I will... More

Shark’s hostess mentioned casually as she welcomed us around about 4 pm that “heavenly” halibut, clams oysters, crab, and dessert await. History, drink, and the oceans bounty prepared perfectly is a feast for every part of you. Presentation does enhance expectation off the starting blocks so to say……but angels hijack any doubt taste buds might have when the Cioppino with... More

I looked up cioppino and discovered that Sharks uses too much sauce/soup, too much pasta, and not enough seafood. Much as the hostess/waitress tried, she couldn't make up for unexceptional thin sauce or misidentified "linguini"--without the seafood, it would have resembled Chef Boy-ard-dee's spaghetti. The shrimp, clams, and pollock were added just before serving, so they weren't overcooked, and the... More

We love Sharks! The seafood is super fresh, comes in generous portions and nothing is fried. If you can get a spot at the back bar do it. You can watch all this great food being prepared in a cooking system taken from an old submarine. This is a small restaurant with limited seating but the wait is worth it.... More

What a hidden little treasure on the bayfront in Newport! It's not fancy, but its comfortable and DELICIOUS!!! We had read some of the reviews and decided we had to give this place a try in November 2013, then came again for Valentines day and the week after. We need to try something different next time, each time we've ordered... More
