Meh on the Clam Chowder...

Mo's annex is located on the Bayfront here in Newport, OR, and touts "World Famous Clam Chowder." The truth is, there are much better places on the Bayfront to eat clam chowder...such as "Gino's at Ocean Bleu" just down the street. But, I digress... The chowder is thin and with a notable... read more

Stopped here for lunch while walking around the bayfront. We wanted a waterfront location so chose this one over the original one across the street. The food was average. The clam chowder was mostly potato with very little clam in it. I also had the shrimp cocktail and this was quite good. The prices were reasonable at this restaurant and... More

We normally make pilgrimage to Mo's while in Newport. The annex is across the street. We decided to give it a try. Although you cannot get the fish and chips like the original, the menu has plenty of satisfying choices. The fish tacos were a big hit and I enjoyed a bowl of clam chowder with homemade bread. All while... More

The Hot Shrimp Artichoke Dip was amazing as was the Seafood Saute. The clam chowder is satisfy (I've had better but this is up there) and the menu had enough for our non seafood eaters. Prices are comparable with most seafood restaurants and not bad for a tourist area. One caveat, they have no deep fryer. So if you're looking... More

We went here for a late Easter lunch! Started off with the Seafood Saute, moved on to the Seafood Cioppino, Shrimp Skewers served with Clam Chowder and Pink Shrimp Quesadilla finishing off with the Brownie Sundae that was perfect for sharing! We were entertained by sea-lions frolicking in the waters right off the pier. We were too late in the... More

After a long day of traveling, we were ready for a nice quiet dinner. We ordered the famous chowder and bread, halibut dinner with garlic mashed potatoes and a dinner salad. Our server was very attentive and made us feel very welcomed.

Mo's is always a family favorite, but this was the perfect stop on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The family bowl of Mo's famous clam chowder feeds our family of four with leftovers to take home--with garlic cheese bread, of course. The view over the bay is picturesque and diners watch boats, sea lions and crab fishing from the windows all... More

Great staff and delicious seafood. We really enjoyed our dinner and visit here. I had the Cod with shrimp and clam strips it was really good. A little on the expensive side I thought but we would visit here again.

It has an abbreviated menu, but the food is just as good as a full size Mo's restaurant. As a bonus it overlooks Newport's bay area where you can watch the fishing boats unload their catch. If you are lucky, you can get lunch and a show for no extra!
