Lunch

Good food, and fast service. Not much of a clam chowder person, but their clam chowder is great. I Like the original restaurant on the bay front. Doesn't look like much from the outside.

I've heard about this place even before I visited Oregon for the first time. While the restaurant is small and cramped and service isn't the best, the clam chowder is the best I've ever tried. I went twice during my 3 day stay in the Newport area. There are large windows where you can watch the boats come in and... More

Not sure it is deserving of it. I ate at the Annex last time and thought it was pretty good. The view helped. This time the Annex was closed so I went to the Original. It is in a somewhat dingy building across the street with no view. Service was OK. The chowder was good. The pat of butter on... More

They advertised themselves as having the world's best clam chowder and I could not pass that up. We stopped to share a cup of take-out clam chowder and had to wait quite a while to be served. The clam chowder was swimming in butter on top which I didn't mind. It was a little runny, I like it thicker, but... More

We have eaten here many times over the years, and....it's not as good as it used to be. Halibut fish and chips were way too greasy. Crackers on the tables were borderline stale. Service was ok, but didn't make up for it. Our whole party was cold - we kept our coats on. I noticed a space heater in the... More

This place isn't what I'm usually looking for, but the pickings were slim in that neighborhood. It's brightly lit and has a Denny's kind of vibe to it. However, we did get good service, and good food. They have an odd cabbage/bay shrimp salad that I tried and wasn't keen about, but our meal of oysters was good. An average... More

Had the fish and chips with fries and a side salad. All were very good! And everyone I was with also liked their meals. Would recommend!

While I am sure at one point this was in fact the best chowder on the coast it no longer is. My fiance and I both felt it was a little bland and with places like Georgie's Beachside Grill serving a great bowel of chowder or Gracie's Sea Hag in Depoe Bay having an awesome chowder I feel no need... Mo's is almost always crowded, but I think it's because they "look" like the place you'd want to eat, and they have signs that claim the "best clam chowder." Not so! TERRIBLE clam chowder, and terrible food with really slow service. We tried it a few times just to eliminate the "off day" possibility. We (and those with us) did... More

We ate at Mo's and the fish ordered were all over-cooked and on the burnt side. I had steamer clams which was the only decent item we ate. It was too crowded and expensive. About 2 hours later, all of us had stomach aches and had to get pepto and tums to help us feel better. We will never eat... More
