We had dinner at Szabo's two times over a period of three days while visiting family in Newport. It's not fancy, but the food is well-prepared and reasonable for what you get. They have nightly specials that are a real bargain. The cod fish and chips special on Saturday night was outstanding. The batter was light, and the fish was... More

We stopped here for dinner hoping to get some good seafood. We had stopped at another place and the price for oysters was over $20, so we didn't go in. When we stopped at Szabo's, we found out it was all you can eat fried oysters on Wednesdays. They were so good, I had a second helping of them. Great... More

A comfortable, funky place to enjoy a good steak. Not a lot of seating room but that actually added to the atmosphere of the establishment. Would definitely go there again.

My fiancé has promised to take me here for the past year and it finally happened. Lady working was AMAZING. She recommended the Filly - OMG it is HUGE! I ate maybe 1/4 of it and was very satisfied. This could be shared with another hungry person. Love the personality of the gal working, made it a great experience. Food... More

First we had the chowder that was thicker than paste, the waitress asked if we wanted an extra cracker for our young child and proceeded to throw it on our table. We three adults asked for medium steaks and 1 was raw, it took a while to get the attention of another waitress to then get our waitress over to... More

Across from the best B&B in Newport, Ocean House, this local bar and restaurant is a pleasant surprise and has really great food.We had steak and shrimp dinners with the house wine and ice cream desserts and good service. It does get a little busy and noisy so bring your patience and take your time.

We went on Monday night because it was highly recommended. The salad is iceberg lettuce and croutons, they would have added at least a little tomato. The steak had good flavor but not the best cut of meat. The salmon with orange basil sauce was sweeter than expected but a nice flavor. It was over cooked for my taste, but... More

Hey, it'd a local joint with darn good bar food, the fries could be better, but every sandwich i've had, and all those that go by to other tables, are plentiful and tasty. i don't know what these guys are complaining about on price - it's one of the most reasonable in the state - you want pricy? go to...
