My wife and I read about Recipe in Lonely Planet - and we happened to come across it while driving through Newberg. You might pass it by without realizing it - so pay attention as the house in which it is located is situated on N. Washington St. between the east and west-bound lanes of Highway 99. A delightful restaurant,... More

The service was great from Felipe. The food was scrumptious. The old house was unique. Our experience was great and plan on returning as soon as we can

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Recipe this past Saturday. An old charming house in downtown Newberg that has been turned into a cozy restaurant is a wonderful setting for a romantic dinner. The food was wonderful and the staff were very attentive. In fact, our waiter went the extra mile for us. He assisted us with... More

During our trip planning for a visit to the Willamatte Valley, a winery with which a tasting appointment had been scheduled recommended Recipe for our dining. I sent a reservation request to Recipe and received a very prompt reply. After looking at their menu online, I asked if the Chef and staff could or would prepare a tasting menu for... More

After dining at the Painted Lady, our next stop the following night was Recipe. Oh what a great choice it was. A bit more relaxed, with food that was great and service to match. It's small, so reservations are almost a must. We dined in a party of 8 so we tried most of the dishes. A highly seasonal and... More

We made reservations for this restaurant and glad we did. It was full on a Saturday night. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine. She even let us have a couple tastes before we picked our wine selection. Our foursome had different apps, all excellent. Two of us had the pasta main dish-excellent. One got... More

Elegance in simplicity. Dining here is an exotic experience. Our party enjoyed lamb, pork and beef short ribs all served in picture-book presentation and all were incredibly delicious. The prices are reasonable, especially given the quality of the entres. Service was excellent and only enhanced what felt like a European evening on the town. One tiny problem was parking. It... More

We really enjoyed our lunch at Recipe. It was an overcast/rainy day so the atmosphere was perfect. A renovated farm house is the cozy and quaint setting with a nice outdoor eating area ( we didn't get to enjoy that but it looked pretty) Our wait staff was super enthusiastic, knowledgeable about the menu, gave us some great background on... We dined at Recipe on a Friday evening and even though we didn't have reservations which were strongly recommended we were able to snag a table by arriving early enough in the evening. Around 6pm it filled up really quickly. We enjoyed a Manhattan cocktail and a glass of Rose wine, however the stand-outs were the food dishes we ordered.... More
