One doesn't arrive often to Oregon, given he's from another country. This time we've concentrated on the northern part of Willamette, and the culinary jewell there is no doubt Recipe. A dedicated, friendly and professional service, perfect findings from whatever lies in close distance and a beautiful and reasonably priced wine list. Highly recommended.

This cozy restaurant is a true gem. While tasting and buying a lot of wine at Bergstrom vineyards, I asked the person pouring our wine if she had to eat at one restaurant which one would she pick. Without hesitation she said Recipe. From the warm greeting when we arrived to our departure the atmosphere, service, the wine and ,of... More

I grew up in the sleepy town of Newberg, OR and we only had 2 or 3 choices for dinner out. However, there are now many choices and they include a few very classy options and Recipe is in that class. We walked in as a group of 4 with no reservation and there was no seating available inside or... More

The restauarnt is dark. The small reserve wine list is worn and unreadable. We shared a salad, a good idea as they are large. My wife's duck breast was sliced very thick, suprisingly tasteless. I asked for no starches, extra vegetables with my beef and the plate was loaded with potatoes cooked in duck fat. When I pointed this out,... More

After spending the day tasting wines, we had a great dinner at this charming restaurant in an older home in town. The duck was exceptional as was the gnocchi. We shared a rice pudding with salted Carmel sauce. Exceptional. Service was very good.

Recipe is another of the many fine restaurants that call the Willamette Valley in Oregon home. Located in the heart of the wine country in Newberg, OR, you'll find local winemakers as well as wine tourists in the comfortable dining room that once was a gracious home. The menu is innovative and offers a wide variety of dishes ranging from... More

The staff was very accommodating for our group of 9. The good was very good - I had the pork and tasted the steak and duck. All were great. Wine was, of course, delicious!

Ate in the shady yard of an old Victorian now a lovely restaurant. Had an outstanding sliced duck "Cobb" salad. The best lettuce I've ever had in a salad and the duck, bacon, dressing and other ingredients were a perfect blend. Not at all a "Cobb" but too good to miss. My husband's sandwich was also excellent. Highly recommend.

By far the best lunch in Wine Country! Locals and visitors flock here, so make a reservation. Quintessential bistro menu. Freshest of fresh ingredients. Desserts not to be missed! Staff very well versed in the local wine scene. Eat here now! And then go back tomorrow!

This is where the local vineyard owners seem to eat. Friendly, folksy bartender and waiter - both Oregonians. Food was superior. Great wine selection for sampling the vineyards we missed during the day. Tables are a little close together, but our neighbors were wine tourists of course so we shared winery notes. Don't miss the Recipe.
