We had a great lunch experience at Subterra. Nice atmosphere, the service was a bit slow to start but got quicker once we'd ordered. The menu was slightly limited, but with a pretty good variety My wife ordered the pizza which she quite enjoyed. I had the Newburger, which was amazing. Beef mixed with braised short ribs and bacon, the... More

We were there on Mother's Day, so they had a simplified menu, but it was great, and all the wait staff worked seamlessly together. They knew their stuff, too.

This restaurant was quite nice. The ambiance was great - reminded us of a restaurant in France where you go down into a cellar to eat. The food was excellent! The only thing which was not great was the service. For some reason, the waitresses rotated tables the whole time so we never had the same person twice. This resulted... More

I took my cousin, whom I had not seen in 50 years to Subterra. The ambiance was typical for Subterra: charming. We were able to eat and reminisce in an unhurried setting. The ginger chicken salad and the prime rib Caesar salad were both outstanding. Owners Janet and Martin continue to make Subterra a must for visitors to Newberg, OR.

My wife and I had a great lunch at Subterra and if we are ever back in Oregon, will definitely return to try their dinners. Staff was very friendly and service was good.

My husband & I met friends from Portland here for dinner while we were up in Oregon. The ambiance was very nice, and, as our friends brought their 9-month old, we were relieved there weren't too many people there on a Tuesday night. Inexplicably, our service was hit-and-miss. Our server disappeared when we were ready to order, and the mushroom... More

My husband and I have been meaning to try this restaurant for a long time, because we have heard good things about it, so we finally went the other night. We were very disappointed and won't go again. Wait staff were friendly, but service was slow. I don't eat meat, but I do eat fish, and I am one of... More

We were guests of our Realtors who sold our house for us. They treated us to dinner here and we went during the week. Since there were only a few tables occupied, we had the best service. The waitress was very helpful and had lots of great ideas as to what we should order. Our food was above average, but... More

During our family trip to fabulous LePuy Inn, Subterra was our first dinner after a long flight. Very relaxing but elegant. Both food and service were wonderful - the recommendation was well received by a very diverse group.
