Our family enjoyed a lovely dinner at Subterra recently, after our daughter's college graduation. The service was wonderful, attentive but not intrusive, the staff accommodated my father who couldn't walk very well, the dinner tasted great and we loved the variety of fresh baked breads offered at the table. My son took me here for Mother's Day and what wonderful food. I had a wonderful halibut meal and a dessert was called a Ding Dong but it was a grown up version. An espresso brownie stuffed with ice cream dipped in chocolate and filled with fresh creme. I don't like desserts that are too sweet but this was perfect... More

A group of 7 of us went to Subterra after the GFU graduation, and it was a great dining experience. The Brie appetizer is amazing and all of our dinners were very good. Good wine and wonderful desserts as well! We enjoyed the atmosphere, and the service was top notch. Our only wish was that the 20 percent gratuity hadn't... More

It had been a few years since we had been to Subterra and thought we would give it try. We picked a Saturday evening, I know, not too smart. The place was busy and we had a 7:00 pm reservation. It was a good thing that everyone else was finishing their meals because it appeared there were only two servers.... More

I hate giving bad reviews to local eateries, but we've given this place a number of opportunities to prove this review wrong, but every time we go we've had the same issues - grumpy staff, mediocre food, and a looooooong wait time to get our order. Also, if you have food restrictions, this is NOT the place to go. I... More

My husband and I went for our anniversary. It's not easy to compete with some of the places we've celebrated in the past, including our still favorites in Italy, but Subterra did an excellent job. The wait staff was friendly and helpful (and I was being a tad picky about wine - sorry - I just had something in mind).... More

Owners are friendly, wine selection is great and the food is outstanding. I had the fish tacos which are gluten free. My husband had the creamy chicken soup and said it was one of the best soups he has ever had. He also had the Cuban pork sandwich. Also excellent

I had read reviews and heard good things about Subterra, so when I was in Newberg for business I took the opportunity to eat dinner there. The restaurant is located in a basement, but the decor is so well done, you hardly notice. You can order either a three course entree (soup, salad, main dish) or "small plates" of various... More

We dropped in to eat lunch before looking for a place to taste oregon wine. we wound up sitting at a table next to a wall full of interesting, vintage oregon wine, exactly what we were seeking. we had good pizzas, if a bit salty, and walked out with a sack full of interesting oregon pinot noir, the first of...
