A friend and I recently went to Subterra for dinner for the first time. We were extremely pleased with the food and the service! Everyone from the hostess, to the waitstaff, to the owners were very friendly and helpful. It was amazing to learn that they source all of their ingredients locally and hand craft everything from the bread, to... More

This was an exceptional find. It is a little hard to find and the sign is small and hidden. It is truly in the basement and the décor is really outstanding. It was a Monday night and we went with friends. It was very slow but the staff was happy and attentive. We had a bottle of wine. We did... More

The restaurant located in a plaza, underground level, was from start to finish a total disaster. The service was sub-par, the waitress could not have cared less about whether we were there or not. The menu has this off-putting in that every dish comes with a general salad, whether you want it or not. The chicken dish was so over... More

We want everyone to know that we run an extremely sanitary restaurant, having received perfect 100 point scores on all of our recent health inspections (this is public record available to everyone). Our attention to food safety and serving a wholesome product is unmatched. The gentleman in question self-admittedly had a full day of eating and drinking under his belt,... More

Were told by other locals that this was a very upscale restaurant that was "underground". When we got there it was basically like a walk-out basement in a house. The environment was fine, but certainly NOT fancy at all. I think they were trying to be more fancy, but the building was just not able to create that type of... More

My husband and I ate dinner here while in the Willamette Valley for a getaway. Our innkeeper recommended this place as a great option for a Friday night when we failed to make advanced reservations anywhere. It is located just off the main drag in a lower level building. If you need handicap access, there is a ramp in the... More

I have lives in Newberg for 4 years and have always just driven by Subterra. What a huge mistake!!! Finally my husband and I went in for lunch and WOW what a surprise! We sat at the bar and had the most delightful bartender. When our food arrived it was absolutely wonderful! We now don't just drive by we stop... More

Subterra was within walking distance of our hotel and they recommended for the extensive wine list. We loved the food! We went back a second time and will definitely return when we are in the area. Jamie did an excellent job serving us at the bar and was knowledgeable about the wines from the local area. An awesome experience!

We recently stopped in for lunch while on a mini tour of Wine Country in Newberg. We chose this restaurant based on Yelp reviews and they were true to the word. The wine selection was awesome, the food choices were vast, and we really enjoyed the service (our server was pretty much running the place all on her own since... More

Sharing a girls weekend with friends and this place was the perfect place for dinner after a long day of wine tasting. We got the room off to the side for a great place to catch up on each others' lives - private but still with a nice view of the outside and the beautiful painted mural inside. The waitress... More

This place offers a terrific dinner at a bargain price, including soup and salad. We would return in a heartbeat.
