The owners have created Thursday theme night 4 course dinners prix fixe for $25. The price does not include alcohol or tip but each evening has a special cocktail offering. We've attended two so far and each has been delicious and creative. Chef Martin explains each course, the food ingredients and source and shares his enthusiasm for planning and creating... More

International Dinner night - Cuban. There were several courses and a great variety of dishes. Served family style. Chef Martin and Janet gave an interesting explanation of each dish and different Cuban customs. Chef Martin visited each table and answered a variety of questions regarding the preparation and cooking of the food. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. Great... More

My husband and I came here for a belated celebration of his 60th birthday. (See my TA review for Chehalem Ridge B & B.) Like other reviewers have said, it is a little tricky to find. (Hint: It’s underground.) The Cuban black bean soup was spicy, hearty and delicious. My husband had the soup of the day, which name he... More

This is a perfect wine country destination with the feel of a wine cellar. The abiance, warmth and cozieness of the decor is relaxing and inviting. A local resident mentioned this as a "hidden gem" We were extremely pleased with our visit. Nice presentation of coffee in the French press, the perfect way to take the fall chill off that... More

Subterranean is in the basement of a building near Hwy 99 and Villa Road, kind of easy to miss. But it is worth finding. The menu items are delightful. The mushroom soup is my particular favorite. The wine list is extensive. The ambiance adds to the dinning experience and the service is first rate. Check it out: you won't be... More

My husband and I recently spent a few days in Newberg/Dundee and had a lovely dinner at Subterra. We both had the potato wrapped halibut and it was delicious. Perfectly prepared, crispy potato wrap and moist, flakey fish. I'm not a big soup eater, but the balck bean was very good and the salad was wonderful. Couldn't believe that entree... More

Always a pleasant experience near wine country. Nice Atmosphere, reasonable, quality dining. Sometimes slow service, but who' is in a hurry? :-) One time -there was no music, and when we asked - the waitress said something about the cd player, or cd's being missing...? It has been less busy lately, which is worrisome-- hope it stays in business. It's... More
