Delicious appetizers and wine served in a quiet, romantic environment. I was unable to stay for dinner, but will visit again for a meal!

I was very acquainted with this place but never had the chance to stop by for a leisurely dinner. We were "wowed" with the entire experience. First the staff, warm and welcoming! Next was the great atmosphere created within the walls. Then the menu, absolutely terrific selection! We very much had a perfect evening in the delightful Newberg restaurant!

Dropped into Subterra for lunch after wine tasting at Dark Horse Wine Bar in Newberg. Very nice atmosphere. Lunch menu was very imaginative and diverse. The shaved ham with ementhaler cheese (warmed in the oven) was delicious. WInes were good too. Many thanks to Merle (the pearl) for great service and attention. I was warned this sandwich would take a... More

We ate here our first night in Newberg on a week long trip in wine country. Happy hour at the bar was good, however when it came to making drinks, the bartender was reading recipes for everything he made, they were good drinks, but somethings are easy enough that you shouldn't need a playbook to make. Food, we ordered some... More

All the lovely ladies that work at this cozy downstairs wine bistro are so welcoming and warm that it makes you want to eat. It's a good thing because the food is simply delicious. The small plates are creative and yummy - stop by for happy hour and make your tummy happy and Jamie will make you a beautiful cocktail... More

This restaurant was recommended by a family member. I was hesitant because of the prices. However, the food is expertly prepared and artfully presented. The servers are a attentive. Being a "wine cellar restaurant" in a wine growing region, the wine list is extensive. I recommend this place for special occasion dining.

A friend and I recently went to Subterra for dinner for the first time. We were extremely pleased with the food and the service! Everyone from the hostess, to the waitstaff, to the owners were very friendly and helpful. It was amazing to learn that they source all of their ingredients locally and hand craft everything from the bread, to... More

This was an exceptional find. It is a little hard to find and the sign is small and hidden. It is truly in the basement and the décor is really outstanding. It was a Monday night and we went with friends. It was very slow but the staff was happy and attentive. We had a bottle of wine. We did... More

The restaurant located in a plaza, underground level, was from start to finish a total disaster. The service was sub-par, the waitress could not have cared less about whether we were there or not. The menu has this off-putting in that every dish comes with a general salad, whether you want it or not. The chicken dish was so over... More

We want everyone to know that we run an extremely sanitary restaurant, having received perfect 100 point scores on all of our recent health inspections (this is public record available to everyone). Our attention to food safety and serving a wholesome product is unmatched. The gentleman in question self-admittedly had a full day of eating and drinking under his belt,... More
